I keep trying to imagine what omnimechs would have looked like as actual omnimechs, with empty panel ports for variant parts.  Especially given the disparate torso types.  Would a single autocannon peice need to be designed 4 times to fit light, medium, heavy and assault for example?

Well, as the Cauldron Born A mini shows, they could instead be mounted externally.

You might look at one of the Nordic navies?  IIRC they have a modular ship that you can drop a mission specific module in so that a minesweeper one day can turn into a ASW patrol ship the next, and maybe next week it is on AA duty.

Think of all the computer plug & play equipment- especially what you can install in a CPU tower.  FREX I can mount a hard drive in a bay . . . or a CD/DVD drive . . . or I can grab that old 3.5 flippy drive to put it in.  I even had one computer that had a port panel for one of those slots that offered places to insert things like SD chips from phones/cameras to transfer data that was from when several different hardware options were fighting for market supremacy, like HD or Blu-Ray.

That Hippogriff looks fiddly.  How many pieces is it?

A total of 4
Legs
Body
Head
Wing

Actually it goes together very easily.

I mean if you have the autocannon from the cauldron born, and try to use it on a chassis like a Nova,  mad dog or gargoyle, it's going to either not scale properly, or sit very awkwardly on a thin torso mount.  The 16 omnimechs could have been designed for so that you could have bought the chassis, then bough option sprues that could have been used universally.  As it is, the artwork doesn't quite seem like you would slide a chunk of torso out a replace with a box launcher  or ballistics package

Actually, that changed with the Omnis re-sculpts.  I say this b/c I have one of the old and one of the new (non-KS) Stormcrows . . . the latest Stormcrow has a B option that can also work as the Garg C arms.

Yes.  The Boggart is more than one piece.

I was specifically referring to torso mounts though, arms have always been a given for swaps.

See the Annoucement for details. But four web only items have been posted for sale. Two are Fan Funded items and other two are variants for the Shadow Cat III.

Just a FYI, I pulled the four new releases since I found out I jumped the gun and the molding was not done for production. They are working on it so they should be available next week. Orders with them will be delayed while the molds get finished. Sorry for the delays, I had mis understand Mike email from July about the molding progress for release.

Those parts are in line to be molded soon.

Can you give us any hints on what the next non-mech releases might be? :)

There are two FF non mech items coming out soon. Some parts need printed again and will soon be in line for molding.

My current desktop has a card (??) that reads multiple types of  . . . cards/chips?  Ports for: CF/MD, SD/MMC (only one I've EVER used), XD, TF, M2 and MS.  Also has a port/slot thingy (Please Pardon all the Technical Jargon!) on top, and I've got the 3TB HD from my last desktop slotted in there.  Tons of music, games and BT "Stuff", to include numerous pics of painted minis.  I had NO idea what the port was for until a Friend showed me!   ;D

are there any variant parts this time around? i hope so but my wallet does not  ;D

For ME the end result will be the same.  A Lance of EACH of the Thunderbolt Variants, 2 of each of the others.   :o

My Current T-Bolt Count stands at 58, give or take. I'm not sure if I've got them all Accurately counted, so I might be off by a few.  I've got at least 18 Unseen, and 1 MIB Unseen, then 2 to 4 of every other sculpt, including 3 Fan Sculpts and 2 MWO sculpts.

And I've got only about 26-30 painted.  :-\

The Hells Horses WiGE Proto is several parts, the Delphain (The Dragon one)  has 2 separate wings, if I remember right. So only the Protos out of 3060 (What ever TRO they started in) are 1 piece.

Not to rain on the parade of the missile boxes but if you want pairs at the moment, i'ts like $12.  Granted that gives you alot of Bits box stuff...  I got lucky and found in the store a 2x ATM 6 on a turret mount that works for the conversion I wanted to do for like a buck.
