Half the damage per ton of ammo as an LRM (60 vs 120), vulnerability to AMS, and much heavier weight than similarly-sized LRM launchers. Still, guess it kind of works, even if I did give it Vehicle Stealth. Well I had to make it interesting somehow! Went with LMGs instead of anything else; thunderbolt spam works against attacking armored forces but it needs something for infantry, and I liked the longer range.
Shame you can't use special ammo for Thunderbolts. Ah well.
