Shout out for Warwolf variant conversions
« on: 11 September 2015, 06:14:11 »
Hey, So I've bought myself a Warwolf, and I really want to mod it to represent the 'H' Variant.
(So with the LRM10s replaced with Heavy Large Lasers)
Has anyone had a go a similar Conversion.

I was thinking of building  the Heavy lasers in the missile pods, flush to the front, but mounting them Lower in the torso, perhaps under the arms, built in to the lower torso...

Alternate thoughts/advice would be welcome. :)

One is on the CSO site as part of last years diorama, it used Solitaire Heavy Lasers in place of the missile launchers.

They do make plexicard hexagon rods that you can use as a basis for the heavy lasers.

Warwolf pic from Gencon-14 is absent at CSO, but been in photo collections of that year.

I wonder if those are the metal Solitaires' guns or the MWDA versions?

Metal.  Detailing on the MWDA version is different.

Ended up using Madcat IV arms... The upper arms even fit over the shoulders nicely so I didn't have to cut them to fit.

I'll post some pictures once I've finished it. She's Base couated at the moment, but I'm pretty happy so far.

Finally uploaded pics.
Apologies for the shoddy camera and paint jobs, I only just started painting these up.

Think the Mad cat arms scale better than the HUGE solitaire Cannons.

Makes me wonder about the Blood Asp shoulder guns.

Daaaaamn. I actually have a pair of those... They'd probably work too. :(

Then I wouldn't have had to buy a second Solitaire so I had matching HLaser arms on the Madcat IV...

Nice. I like your color choices. The technique on the light browns is very good.

That, my friend, is a very classy mini! Really great result, and looks proportional.

Just flock that base. Really, help bring the base up to match the quality of the rest of the mini.
