Geohex flocking
« on: 09 April 2016, 11:15:38 »
What material exactly, was used to flock my (grass) GeoHex?
I have several different mediums to try to repair and recreate, but none are close.
I'd have to expect the old materials should still be available?

Additionally, what was used for desert pieces? Was it just the same brand/compound as was grass, just different color?

Well, without seeing the GeoHex to know, I would assume something like static grass?

I just have standard GeoHex.
Some people have talked about it in the past, but I don't recall having seen the specific brands / types of flocking be named.

Considering the volume he makes and how long he's been doing it in that manner, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he simply makes his own flock in large batches.  He's on Facebook - send him a message, I bet he'll be more than happy to give you some pointers.

Ready for a long read ?

Good !

Geohex stopped production over a decade ago .

They sold the rights to reproduce their gaming mats to a
company called Monday Knight productions .

Linky :   http://mondayknight.com/Index.html

They used to sell flock as well but I can't find it on their site now .
That MAY be the flock you're looking for .
Either way they have a forum up now .

You could either Email them your question or join and post
on their forum .
I've purchased a huge mat and some other stuff from them
and the transaction was quick and easy and my mat is fantastic !

Another option is to contact the ORIGINAL manufacturer for the foam
sections-which has just recently restarted production .

The original owner / designer goes buy the name geohex2013
on the popular auction site that we are not supposed to name here .

He also has a current Facebook page for Geohex.

The original guy has retired from his regular job and is back  in production .

Battlescape 3D terrain is not back in production yet -but the last I
heard they were considering it .

( standard Geohex is plain , Battlescape is the hexed stuff )

Hope that helps .

My entire 3D terrain setup is custom 3D terrain on Monday Knight Production
mats since they stopped production of the foam pieces for so long .
