It was a Canopian refit in 3039 . . . like I said, I was confusing the fluff on the -3Mr and -3MC.

Mediocre? The -3M and -3Mr are some of the best Banshees in the setting!

No Banshee has 3 Gauss Rifles or AC/20s.

They're not Banshees. They're scrawny Atlases with a typo on the record sheet.

Of course, it is funny my two favorite houses are traditional enemies. (Steiner and Marik).

As aside, how do you all think an assault lance like this ruld do in the Dark Age Era

Stalker 6M
Battlemaster 3M
Longbow 7V
Awesome 9M

I've roleplayed a Leaguer with an admiration for aspects of the Steiner side; it works surprisingly well. After all, someone from Oriente probably likes Lyrans more than Regulans, no?

Re your lance - it's pretty classic "stand and deliver". Jokes about LGRs aside, you've got to hope they're approaching you on a flat plain, so you can use all that long range firepower all the time. The opponent could buy two lances of fast mediums for the same BV2, and with any cover to work with, your guys would get cut up in time. Drop the Beemer for a stock Grand Titan 10M, or a 13M - something to discourage closers.

Ideally, you'd have a cavalry lance or armour platoon backing those bad boys up, letting them concentrate on laying down the hurt while the support teams scratch their backs.

As for UAC/10s, did we mount them on anything other then the Sirocco and the Anzu? I know the FWL mounted a Light Gauss Rifle and later regular Gauss Rifles on everything from Mechs to large combines, but it seems the UAC/10 got the cold shoulder from a lot of the Inner Sphere. Maybe an Orion variant and a LLerseus config?

Tufana (iNARC) 3/4 is 998 BV, 3/3 is 1089 . . .

I'm pretty sure Weirdo plays with strict BV limits, so 'close enough' isn't.

Embrace Regulus.  Violator VT-U3, 973 BV.

From experience, the only BV that matters is the listed BV, and all units get a 'free' upgrade to 3/4 at the game table.  Right, Weirdo?

*shrug* My group plays with pilot upgrades included in the BV for the pick up game . . . again, its why I listed two BVs with the skills clear- its 4/5 BV is 750-ish.  But from the rush/brawl force he gave the Tufana has the speed to keep up or flank and with MMLs & iNARC can throw out party favors with Haywire or inferno.

Bingo. I'm looking at a hard limit of 1026, base unit cost only, please.

I'll admit, I am tempted by the Violator.

they do but people be out here not hearing

the regulan mech list is funny.

closest you can get in pure BV is a Bloodhound 3 (the goofy one with the ER flamers and fluid gun) 1006

The Snake 1V (980) isn't actually a terrible profile to match the other units
Hammer 3C (976) weird little guy
Strider B (910) or G (883) for fire support
Eagle 2M (800) if you just want to stunt on people by saying "i picked a literal turd for my 4th mech and still plan on winning"

Condor (Upgrade) (Standard) (965)
Heavy LRM Carrier (948)
Main Gauche (725)

Ghu bless you, Scotty! The U3 is my design. It's accurate to the DA mini. Unfortunately, it got overridden by the U1.

Early inspiration for how to use the Violator properly:

Scarabus 9T, 962.  Because nothing says happy melee wielding mech day like a 10/15 30 tonner with TAG, TSM, and a Guardian ECM suite.  Depending on if you have other support units, the TAG can work great for semi-guided or Arrow IV homing missiles, and the Scarabus 9T can outrun almost anything else in Clan, IS, or Periphery space.

i was going to suggest a Hammer 3C, but I notice Sartis beat me to it, so how about a Hermes II 5SA for 924 bv.  They are surprisingly not-terrible.

I fell out of favour with heaven somewhere, so I'm here for the hell of it now...

A Valiant might also work, if you're keeping the hatchet theme.

Also: Wyvern-6N for cheap 3025 fire support
Trebuchet 5S with two SRM 6s and 3 medium lasers, plus eight extra heat sinks for a decent short range option
1 Liao Zhukov with LB-10 Xs
A 3025 Demolisher to herd people towards
2 Kopis BA squads
Some Harrasser MML tanks for fast attack?

I guess my next question for Weirdo is this: Are you limited to the dark ages Regulan Fiefs list only, or can you draw from their or the Free Worlds League general lists from earlier times?

An interesting puzzle.  So Regulus, IS general, and FWL lists?  Mech only?  Are are you willing to field a mixed lance?

Normally I prefer combined arms, but for a fast brawler lance, I'll go mech only. No tank would stay mobile for very long in that kind of fight, and this group is far too small to have a dedicated fire support unit.
