At the moment the Redux is on hold because or GM having RL issues (married, honeymoon, etc).
In the Redux we are barely at the 25th century, where as this will take place in 3049 just prior to the Clan Invasion in 3050 (sorta like how Field Manual Updates predates the Jihad).
Basically it’s going to expand Rasalhague to its 3049 size early on and stay that way, with the galaxies focus on more Warships even thru the Succession Wars. This thread is so I can post the ship designs in one central location

The Räv-clas Corvette was designed in the early years of the Principality as a light patrol corvette. Authorized by the Fleet Admiral Erik Johanssen in the late 2340's, the Admiral was milking the project for all its worth. He compromised on the early designs armor, weapons loadout, even its escape pods (in which the initial version had none. When his corruption was found out he was immediately 'retired' and the Admiralty was forced to deal with his actions for the next two decades. The Räv was updated to make it a serviceable ship over the following centuries. It is still lightly but decently armored and equipped to deal more with fighters and Dropships rather than ships of the line. The Navy attempts to pair Corvettes off on patrol routes. It's immense cost is due to the fact that unlike most PoR designs it carries its own Dropships, a LF-Battery, and a healthy cargo area to boot.

The Hund-class Frigate is of a Corvette size but armed with larger capital class weapons. It is designed to be operated in packs of four (or two if absolutely necessary), using its long range weapons to engage targets from as far as possible before moving in for the kill with it's massive NAC/30's. It's been modified from its original design by removing the excess capital weaponry and Dropship capacity for larger primary weaponry. Two full squadrons of fighters (generally heavier fighters) are carried to help in its intended mission. While it does carry a full platoon of Marines they are mostly used for anti-boarding actions, or as additional support on one of the assault ships. A very small cargo bay with no integral Dropship support are its primary weaknesses, in addition to its lack of rear side capital weaponry. With its many years of service it has become a common sight on nearly every PoR world.

Designed by the Apollo Conglomerate of Military Engineering on Apollo, the four hundred and fifty kiloton Vittoria patrolled the space lanes of the Rim World Republic for nearly fifty years before the PoR even saw them. Once they did they immediately made a bid to co-produce the design at Rasalhague. After months of negotiations as port of the greater RWR-PoR alliance they came to an agreement. Over the years as the RWR has made upgrades to their designs, the PoR followed suit mirroring their models with slight differences.
Armed with a battery of Naval Lasers, Class-30 Naval Autocannons, and Naval PPC's, there are few ships her size that can match her firepower and those that can, cannot keep up. These guns are quite evenly distributed across the hull supported by a larger point defense battery. It does have a fairly smaller cargo bay than ships of her size (nearly half of the RWR variant), a single Dropship docking collar and several small craft allow it to resupply it self from supply ships or cargo stations. It does carry a full wing of aerospace fighters for support.

When the Terran Hegemony debuted their Texas-class Battleship in 2618, the PoR looked to replicate such a design, the primary problem was of course their limited shipyard sizes. When the naval yards at Alshain came up with a replacement the Admirals were overjoyed: a ship 1/3 the size and cost that could be produced at multiple yards around the Principality.
The Tygrys-class removes over half the weaponry, leaving mostly the Naval Lasers and Heavy Naval PPC's, and adds of course an anti-fighter armament. It removes the Dropship capacity, but upgrades the fighter complement. It also increases the armor and structural integrity, all at the cost of cargo space, and almost pitiful amount. It also lacks rear capital sized weaponry. The PoR tends to use them as line-breakers often paired with the Tjur-class Assault Cruiser.

When the Admiralty initially conceived of the Tjur-class they envisioned a ship nearly half its size. Taking inspiration from the DCMS's Linebreaker-class that proved so destructive during the war, the ship swelled in size and capability until it out-massed it competition by almost 100,000 tons. The new ship was expensive, only capable of being produced at the major yards... and deadly.
With a massive forward armament consisting of the larges caliber Naval Autocannons, PPC's, Gauss Rifles, and Missile Launchers it is capable of obliterating ships in a single volley. Backed up by extensive capital and regular scale lasers, a full fighter wing, and two Dropships (often assault craft or fighter carriers) the craft more than pays for itself. It does have an extensive lack of cargo space, typical on most PoR vessels, but it also is lacking in escape craft with only a quarter of the crew capable of surviving the ships destruction.
Despite the cost of such vessels and its flaws, the fleet boasts several of the vessels, often paired up with the smaller Tygrys-class, or the Riddare-class to support them.

Are these designed for the rules in the Redux?
One thought is that you can probably handle the mobile HPG communications cheaper by sticking it on a jumpship and buying some blackboxes for communication between jumpship and warship. The Jumpship can jump in out system beyond detection range and provide intersystem FTL comms. The blackboxes can then function as an intrasystem FTL comms relay.

Designed from the faction I was playing yes. Taking a tech base up to pre-Clan invasion and with a different AU. Versions of these would have existed in the Redux at some point or another based on appropriate tech I had. For example in the Redux turn 5 (?) I was in the third iteration of the Hund-class and had completely removed the Rav from my forces (not even an ‘upgraded’ version). These are more uniform and really designed to be the ‘penultimate’ variant of such vessels.
I actually didn’t consider the Black Boxes…. The intent was to keep one on every front line planet and jump away for reinforcements if an enemy attack hit, or something similar to a Bug-Eye style vessel. The Black Box actually provides some interesting ideas and I might have to reconsider it.

Ok. I don't quite understand the reasoning behind the Jättesköldpadda. It's a warship with 8 docking collars and very few naval weapons or ASFs. That seems ... expensive? Couldn't you just put the docking collars on ships of a different class?

Very expensive yes. It’s meant as a cargo carrier for fleet support: a Carrack, Potemkin, or Volga type vessel. Considering the other PoR ships carry less cargo than similar vessels of their size, and that their nature was more defensive than offensive, I figured I could get away with one larger cargo vessel per fleet. The Tygrys and Riddare classes carry some extra cargo room, but the Var would mostly carry fighter consumables, the Drake maybe extra missiles (?), and the Bjorn is the Flagship. In addition those ships are the only ones who carry Dropships meaning another DS carrier would be nice. I planned a second variant that carried additional fighters, vehicles, and infantry but figured I’d rather just design Dropships for that.
Also…. Costs in BT have always irked me in general. An XL engine in 3150, DropShip multipliers and LF batteries. I much prefer BV anyways.

In retrospect, I have come to believe that any further work of that nature would probably be best served by some other system, or at least adding other considerations - costs in BT are just more and more problematic the more time we spend with them and the closer we look at them, in a ‘they completely matter except when they completely dont’ sort of way. Over focus on costs leads to results that look nothing like BT is supposed to look. Ignoring costs - ditto.
Aside - I do like the designs, and as much as I regret the lifespan of the thing, rereading the stuff we wrote, Im not at all sorry we did it.

In retrospect, I have come to believe that any further work of that nature would probably be best served by some other system, or at least adding other considerations - costs in BT are just more and more problematic the more time we spend with them and the closer we look at them, in a ‘they completely matter except when they completely dont’ sort of way. Over focus on costs leads to results that look nothing like BT is supposed to look. Ignoring costs - ditto.
Aside - I do like the designs, and as much as I regret the lifespan of the thing, rereading the stuff we wrote, Im not at all sorry we did it.
The mismatch between cost basis and BT-like results seems like it was at least partially transitory due to the tech discovery order. There were two primary effects:
- Warships with no docking collars. This was primarily an issue of dropship utility which was damaged by (a) limitations on size and (b) disallowing custom designs. Custom large dropships can justify the cost of a drop collar. This of course introduces variance with the dearth of large scale dropships in-universe. That seems to be a function of a remarkably small in-universe military, which is a separate issue.
- Space Station ascendance. The effective response here is bearings-only launch. If space stations are parked somewhere, you can bearings-only launch missiles from beyond detection range, accelerate by 50+epsilon, do it again, accelerate by 50+epsilon, do it again, etc.. to stack flights of missiles into a storm that provides very little warning (due to high velocity), is extremely lethal (due to high velocity), and requires ruinous amounts of antimissile defense (due to flight stacking) to defend against.
Even avoiding stacked flights, it's relatively easy to build a missile carrier that can fence effectively with stations at (say) range 1000. The space stations can't dodge missile flights at that range, but a warship or dropship could easily do so.

I still think it was the best choice for construction purposes, obviously BV seems to reflect their true power. I would agree with your statement about ignoring/not ignoring cost but the whole argument on that circles around to how BT as a whole isn’t designed as or around an economic based system and therefore some aspects of the game suffer for it.
I’m always down for another of course, the problem being of course DM’s and burnout (both players and DM’s).

It’s one of the reasons I made the Drake-class (also because I liked the concept of the Quixote and wanted something similar). Of course their real limitation is the amount of missiles they can carry and their cargo, similar to carriers.
The cost multipliers for DS collars is such a game changer that it is quite cheaper to build ships without them. Mine here are basically the final upgrades (over 500+ years) and the cost of refitting a design obviously would make the ship cost a lot more. I mean the original Hund-class I had (I mean with more basic tech of course) was half the cost of this version, while the version with drop collars basically mirrored it!
Custom Dropships can make up for that of course: as an obvious statement BT lacks on the aerospace (for obvious reasons). Ships like the Lee should have made a comeback with Command Lances and everything, so these AU might mirror such things because it makes some sense.
I’m not great with space stations but I am trying to work on a couple but those are going to be trial and error for sure.
