TRO:3075 has the Kiso in the Draconis section. Not the most attractive little monster, but it's a good example of what a tripod IndustrialMech on average would look like.

Isn't that a quad?

Trying to see about Speck or I posting up some in-progress shots of various minis being sculpted, but I've got this for the moment.
Sculpted by Alex I. (Sentinel373), based on the mesh/model created by Anthony Scroggins (Shimmering Sword) used on the covers of FM 3145 and TRO:3145.

I hope you guys like it :P

Very cool! Some feedback, knowing full well that this is a WiP image, not the final product:

I hope the final mini does not actually have those bases. Stability is not really a concern with a tripod, and this thing probably doesn't need to be any taller than it already will be. Also, it'd be nice for those of us that want to repose the thing to not have to chop off those bases. (I want to try and pose one in a full gallop. ^-^) Finally, if those are intended to be standard-scale hexes...*compares plastic Poseidon to an IWM base*...that thing will be even bigger than the plastic ones! :o

Similarly, any chance of getting the hands posed similarly to the plastic models? An open grasping hand leaves many more possibilities for fun reposes, much like how many people like to model their Atlases as carrying a club and/or victim. There's a Colossal 'mech, and there's a Colossal 'mech waving the severed leg of a Warwolf around. >:D

Finally, the forwardmost cockpit seems...off...compared to the plastic. I know this isn't going to be an exact copy of the MWDA models, but everything else seems dead-on or close enough, but that different forward cockpit is a bit jarring.

The detail looks great, but I hope it gets a lot smaller.  That looks to be about the size of the DA plastic Tripods!

My thoughts exactly.

On the other hand, there is something to be said for being able to keep using the plastic ones alongside the metal ones and have them look good...

How tall are the plastics?
No, no way this will be even close to the size of the plastics, you're being thrown off by the bases.
But it is going to be big. It's a SuperHeavy, not a KindaHeavy ;)

Poseidon is 3.5"(8.8cm) tall. Footprint is a bit tricky since the mini's legs aren't quite posde symmetrically, but the shoulder pads are 3.25"(8.1cm) wide.

Yes, I was judging by the hex bases, assuming those are the size of BT map hexes.  I'm wondering now how long until we can get official KindaHeavy designs in TROs, and a list of what factions field them.

Allow me to address some concerns. First of, this Ares is not a direct replica of the MWDA mini, in fact it is an amalgamation of all the canon artwork for the ares/Poseidon including the MWDA mini.
as it is a work in progress there are still quite a few things that can change. The arms, and the front cockpit are not done yet. As for the size I don't know if I'm allowed to say the exact height as it still could change, but I can tell you that it's smaller than the MWDA mini but taller than an Atlas. This is also not the final design for the base this is just a temporary size reference.

As for Quadvee's I kind of doubt we might see a release of them unless TPTB get more than one faction into using them. I like the concept myself but there just isn't enough call for them.

You mean like the Society 'Mechs Cephalus and Osteon/Osteon Prime?  The designs the "Home Clans" declared as "Forbidden"?  That's not "Niche" enough, even though they've already got minis of them??   ???  It doesn't seem to me that ANY design is "Too Niche" to be made into a mini.   O0           (As much as I might dislike some of them.  #P)

@Adrian Gideon - Does the software add in the "shadow" of the 'Mech automatically, once you tell it where the "Sun" is?  That's neat!  8)

As for the bases, they could be included, but not necessarily Attached to the feet, that way using them would be Optional.
To me, Repros are 100% Wrong, and there's NO  room for me to give ground on this subject. I'm not just an Immovable Object on this, I'm THE Immovable Object. 3D Prints are just 3D Repros.

Does anybody know if IWM is up for trying more Kickstarter projects? I'd likely back a Kickstarter for quadvee models.

Agreed. If they are viewed as a niche product, like the LAMs, that might be the most suitable way of bringing them to market.

i imagine quadvee's will be online exclusives, which IIRC the LAM's will be too.

personally i'm hoping we see more quadvee's in future products.. maybe hover quadvee's, which would benefit from super high mobility and give them a more defined role.

If we get more quad-vees, I really hope they look better than the current bunch.  Not sure I get the benefit of putting the gunner AND the pilot in the turret.  Has be really annoying when you're turning left and the gunner wants to shot to the right.

I would assume that the gunner has his/her own 360 degree compressed viewscreen for target selection and aiming.

The Hell's Horse would more likely deploy the Quadvees more often than not, because of their shortage of lighter designs when their factory worlds was bagged by Rasalhague Dominion. (Same one that made Locust IICs).    Problem was corrected when the Wolves left town and left their factories open for grabs.

Quadvees aren't as rare Superheavy Tripods are, i hope Iron wind Metals can get around to making them.  I find it weird there needs to be kickstarter to produce a minis for them.  People really don't like them enough to warrent just standard production run?

Personal guess: enough for a single mode. Similar to the old LAMs. I can't see them tying up essentially two release cycles with them for the various modes.
