Server Busy Error

Today I am periodically getting the following error while browsing the forums:

It's not.  I see it very occasionally myself.  My guess - and please note that I'm not involved in the system administration side of things - is that it's exactly what it says it is, the database is busy.  Depending on the underlying code, the DB could be getting hit multiple times per request.  A lot of little SELECT statements add up if they all hit in a short enough period of time.

I just hit refresh and it clears up. Not the end of the world.  :)

Ditto.  If what I think is going on is correct, timing is important.  Catch the DB when it's not overloaded and it won't twitch that way.

We need to upgrade our server. We're planning to do so in the near future, but there's no timeline yet. Meanwhile, little bits of evidence like that will keep showing up proving we need that upgrade...
