Pictures of the Omega
« on: 28 May 2012, 20:03:50 »
Below are two of the four pictures of the Omega Super-Heavy Mech, the other two are in the IWM Gallery.

Pricing is forthcoming, but I can say that it is made up of 23 parts. The price and more details about the sale of the miniature will be coming in the next day.

3 plus months early at Origins – extra $15.00 ($49.95)

2 months early at Historicon – extra $10.00 ($44.95)

1 month early at Gencon – extra $5.00 ($39.95)

Regular website online exclusive release (Fall 2012) - $39.95*

*NOTE: After Packing the Omega Super-Heavy Mechs for Origins, we discovered that the announced Price for release in the Fall was to low. The new price will be $39.95, but since we announced the $34.95 price, we will honor that price for the first two weeks once they gone on sale in the Fall.

wow, that is really awesome!!!!!!!!!!
"Warriors, not war machines, are the backbone of the Hell's Horses. While others worship the BattleMech as the ultimate weapon, the men and women of this Clan see even this awesome piece of technology as the tool it is. We have held to this philosophy since the days of our first Khan, who knew that the value of the common soldier far outstripped the brute force of the BattleMech. It is one reason our Clan possesses fewer mechs than most, and has led many to underestimate our fierceness and courage. Our survival against all challengers when others have fallen proves the folly of such arrogance, and testifies to the wisdom of our founders."

Wow. That is a beautiful sculpt. I'd have to guess that is uses close to 3x the weight of metal as that Atlas it's menacing.

Technically, it needs to be 50% taller.  (Superheavies are 3 levels tall, while an Atlas is only 2 levels tall).

But it does look nice.  Be a perfect way to get PCs to clench in shock.  All they can track is a single unit moving through the rubbled streets of an old city.  One of the Mechs spots that it can turn the corner and be at range 3 from it.  The player says that he is going around the corner, and doing an alpha strike on the Mech's head (presetting his weapon heights).  He does so, and the GM records all the hits/damage on the center torso.

Here is where the GM takes the player outside to explain what happens.  He then tells the player that the Mech sighted is taller than his own.  It is opening fire.  Follow this with enough firepower to destroy the player's Mech.

The GM and player then rejoin the rest of the group.  The GM explains what the rest of the PCs see/hear on their sensors/radio.  They see the volunteer go around the corner.  They hear over the radio a "Holy!!!".  They hear the PC do an alpha strike (that will cause his Mech to overheat).  After the complaints about not following proper fire discipline, they watch the PC's mech display go from green to black, and an escape pod launch over the buildings.

The PCs then roll initiative, wondering what is facing them in the old city.

Yeah it's cool I guess. You know, if you like big heavy stompie things...with lots of big guns...And lots of armor....and goes STOMP STOMP STOMP STOMP STOMP STOMP PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW PEW....HA HA HA HA HA....

 O:-)

This BETTER be available to the general public or I will go on a rampage.

Yeah, that would suck if we had to buy it from 'investment' buyers for 3-10 times the original cost.

I think the size is good and is pretty much what I had in mind when I did the visual design for the OMEGA (a mech this big requires all caps!). If it helps you get over the whole levels thingy, just consider that it is (at least) 3 levels wide  ^-^
