we're including a closing piece of fiction.

Dang, if only that innovation had come a few years sooner. ;)

Good move though, makes total sense in this case.

Wasn't IlClan supposed to contain a closing fiction as well?

I wonder if the concept is something that devs and writers have found enjoyable?

I think the IlClan has closing of factions....

Oh, i expect it to be. But i think Adrian Gideon mentioned it would have closing fiction too.
Maybe. I'm not sure i trust my brain and going through old threads will take time...

Tokasha?  As in Hell's Horses vs Ghost Bears?  That Tokasha?!  Oh yeah...TOKASHA!  *Ghost Bear roar*

I'd safely say (without being involved, by the way, so grain of salt here) that the plan looked more like 'put them aside for a while, return to that chaos some other time down the road when it fits our plans'. With the folks involved in those decisions no longer involved in Battletech (unfortunately), the future may look very different in that regard than it did under Beas/Rome. Equally safe to say that we're not likely to get much in the way of hints from the current administration beyond "Wait and see", "More to be revealed", "Shut the hell up Hellbie", and other such comments.  ^-^

Really though- while the Home Clans aren't everyone's cup of tea, they're clearly popular around here with a lot of fans, and there's a lot of story to tell- particularly after Ben Rome put a bucket on their heads and beat it with a spoon for a while. Our last look in the Supplemental was fascinating, and sets up a very interesting future- it would be almost unthinkable for Catalyst to never go back there again.

yeah, my use of climax was intentional in that regard - the story isn't usually over afterward. From a purely pragmatic sense, completely removing the nostalgia, emotion, and attachment, winding down the homeworlds as 1) decimated beyond repair or 2) relatively stable political stasis makes a certain amount sense in a reality of limited resources. Not necessarily what should or will happen (especially due to the regime change you noted)... just my observation from the last ten years of products.

picture of jiggly anime girl

I was going to ask why you had a picture of a bouncy anime girl readily available, but then I though: let he with a clean browsing history cast the first stone.

The list of turning points looks fun. Last one I recall reading was Epsilon Eridani, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. The prospect of some sweet bear on horse action is something I can't wait to see...wait, that didn't come out right.

Wise words. And for reference, that's the precise anime girl SCC was referring to.

Just a brief update to spill about the Turning Points currently in the pipeline (these are somewhere between development (past the pitch stage) and layout). They span from the Second Succession War/Golden Century through the early Republic eras.

Fronc Reaches
Vega 3039
Orbisonia
Tokasha
Lindsay
(or possibly titled, Turning Points: Hansen's Vengeance)

Fronc Reaches,is this related to the recent HBS game? Are we going get some material for the Rimward Periphery during 2SW-3SW?

Statesman:  Our Warlord.

Warlord:  Your Statesman.

The character's family name is Tohsaka.  She's actually fairly popular across the board, among anime fans.

I was assuming that Fronc Reaches would be about the Capellans expanding Southward during the early Republic era.

Vega 3039 sounds like Teddy & the Legion v the Elsies from Heir to the Dragon.

To quote Sarna: "Orbisonia was attacked by a major Capellan assault in 2828, one of a number of actions that effectively marked the beginning of the Second Succession War."

Tokasha is obviously the Golden Century event being referred to.  I note that it was Star Adder controlled at the beginning of the period and Ghost Bear / Hell's Horses / Goliath Scorpion / Jade Falcon later.

Hansen's Vengeance must be Roughriders v Concordat.

I can only agree, Tokasha should contain some cool moments with the illest Clans around, the Scorpions and Falcons (oh, and maybe some Bears and Horses as well)...

Hmmm, didn't I make an update to the Tokasha page on Sarna a while back? Yes, there it is, lying around on C:/, maybe I should upload it some day...  #P

Are there any plans to release an errataed version of Field Report 2765: Periphery? From Canopian regiments with Kuritan fluff, WarShips with confusing art, and a RWR fleet scheme that causes Clan Diamond Shark to make no sense, this product has long needed repairs.

Disappointing, but ah well. I can keep waiting, as long as I'm sure we'll get it sometime before the actual launch of TAS Challenger. :)

That flag is awesome. Is this another one that was hiding in Handbook: House Steiner, or was it created for the book?
