Ilclan is one of the two print products coming out this year and has a cover, the writing has been done for awhile to my knowledge.

I think the BattleMech manual was pretty close to being done, so I would imagine it ought to be out next. As much as I want to see ilClan, I don't think there has been enough hype to suggest it is coming up next.

Can you give us any update on any of the various new series of PDF only products? I know the person writing the Milestones has had what could only be termed a hell year, but are any of the others close to a tentative release?

2nd succession war.

I'd imagine that Ilclan being slowed down would be more of a change in line developers. The writing was done awhile ago I thought. So that means it would mostly be an art/layout sort of thing.

But if they want to take the future somewhere slightly different then the writing isn't done.

So will you ever tell us how much different it is than the story Herb and Ben wrote, or it that plot line now relegated to the ash heap of history?  I mean, if it's gone, why not tell us / let them tell us what WOULD have happened.....

IlClan wasn't written by Herb or Ben. It was written chiefly by Phil Lee, with other authors (none of which are Herb or Ben)  contributing small sections.

But otherwise, there's no real way to answer your question. There aren't any changes yet. Don't know if there will be or not. Don't know if they'd be worth detailing or if I'd want or be allowed to share them if there are any.

Since we don't even know what's in there in the first place, the notion that it might be changed is actually pretty meaningless beyond how it impacts the release date.

Unless one is preemptively looking for an excuse to complain about the current administration. I desperately hope nobody's doing that.

I would trial of grievance them like a straight up battletech nerd. Adrian is the best. I choose the back alley they choose the weapons. The whole thing will be terribly cliché.

Anyways. To be honest my comments aren't always conducive to a positive discussion. Over the last few years I've started to think more critically about everything and sometimes trying to think things through that way gives people an opportunity to complain or makes them notice something they wouldn't have otherwise.

Like, I said about the second succession war book that it leaves out my Rasalhague friends, then mention it's got to be tough for the franchise because the player base is pretty fragmented between era's and factions. I'm just making an observation about challenges which I usually follow up with a question about how to fix it. But it just gives other people a chance to jump in and complain about something. Which isn't the intent. But is often the outcome.
