Their best recruiting angle is probably gonna be "Daoshen Liao is coming."

They already used “Malvina will murder the planet.” The ones that weren’t going to sign up for that aren’t likely to sign up to hunt Capellans.

In the short term, that’s still their best option and it seems awful. Especially for the falcons, whose reputation is a bunch of mass murdering sociopaths even worse than the Wolfes. (It’ll be interesting watching falcons crawl out of that PR hole).

Actually, last kickstarter, we got access to all the forcepacks, if with a fair deal of waiting in a few cases. Think we got the comstar packs a year later then in the us or something. CGL eventually adressed the situation. Don't mean to rub it in, just pointing out that the CI products were the first time in, litteraly, decades, that battletech products (aside from mechwarrior dark age) were easy to obtain in our neck of the woods. Battletech is in upswing, keep your fingers crossed, battletech products might reach your place on terra more readily then they used to sometime soon.

The cost is always the question mark. I'm pretty sure to get at least a "bonus forcepack" for the same price then it would be to get them at the retailer (plus those things we're sure not to ge able to buy locally, and hence have to forget). Might end up being two.

For the model, I'll be really happy to get the Ostroc. The two heavy Ost mechs are the two unseens I've never really dabbled with, gives them a "mysterious apeal".

And of course the firestarter to pair up with the firebee. Fire rules will hit the table this year.

Things are definitely picking up. I'm in Toowoomba and the LGS has Battletech stock and a group!

Backwater assignment, possibly safe. I mean, suppose one is connected, but doesn't actually have real skills... gotta give some assignment to such person. Depending, they might be even quite fine with it.

I thought that someone who was connected but generally not competent was typically given a ceremonial position.  Honor guard of a core planet that hasn't been invaded in the last two centuries sort of post.

The Trail was for the 'WHOLE' of the Nova Cats, which they fought a good deal harder then they did in the OTL, but yeah roughly 8.5 Galaxies were added to the AFFC MTOE which if used correctly will add most if not all of the green turkey's OZ to the FedCom (along with what ever industry they set up, logistics(not so much...) ect), while the Turkeys go on their death ride to Tharkad...

Oooof. Okay that gives me ideas then. Consolidate the combat-ready Nova Cats into full-strength clusters (say you have about 20 of them left out of 8.5 Galaxies) and then attach them on a two clusters/RCT basis. A full on FedCom RCT with another 90 Nova Cat Omnimechs + attendant Elementals and Omnifighters would roll over any kind of resistance you may find short of a full Galaxy on the other side. Use your RCT as the big hammer formation and the Nova Cat clusters as the mobile units to either screen the RCT or go surat-hunting individual opposing trinaries/supernovas.

The Rattlesnake entry which was recently canonized is showing as year 3043.

But it includes C3-Slave.

C3 Tech is listed as being introduced in 3050.

So either the Intro Year of C3 is wrong or the Rattlesnake is a later variant post 3050 & not actually from 3043

The AFFS was building them, but TRO:PP also says they were also directing them to their top line units. The Davion Brigade and the 1st FSAC are the examples given, so quite a large gap between that and "backwater planetary militia"

Totally agreed.   He also listed the year as 3072, not 3066, so there's some time there to get them passed down.

Also, if the theory is some family Noble has the $$ to buy the mech to pass down to the PC, then they probably have the $$ to do the same thing from an even closer factory.

End result is, both the House in question & Mercs have it listed on the MUL so with 6 years time, or even just ability to have a Refit Kit of that model ordered, I'd say its at least POSSIBLE to end up in the Militia even if its not super probable.

Part of me has been wondering, which model has been the most anticipated one everyone is getting out of their Kickstarter order?

Ostroc, Ostsol and Starslayer are the three that are my most anticipated.

Part of me has been wondering, which model has been the most anticipated one everyone is getting out of their Kickstarter.

I have a soft spot for the mauler because of MW4. Other than that, I’m stoked for all of the clan mechs.
