A little teaser for ya'll, one of the Mechs and an example of the fluff, I'd like to introduce the Lucanus Heavy Mech and i'd appreciate any feedback, especially on the writing.

I don't know why, but I keep seeing a resemblance one of the QuadVees you made.

its the floating body design, we wanted to keep that look and feel to make it look more insectoid without being too extra.

After doing a search on 'Lucanus' I now know why the artwork freaks me just a wee bit.

It looks very good and it has a bit of a 'War of the Worlds' vibe, so it could qualify for the distracting quirk.

Also introducing the Manul aka the Pallas Cat, or as it was quickly named by my friends the Corgi, hence it being given that name by the Inner Sphere

And last but not least for now, the Ice Hellion made and designed Light Mech, and note that this thing in the AU its in, enters service in the late 3040's. (And the Supercharger that they have is a slightly different one, at least until its perfected in the 3060s and yes there will be optional rules for it!)

I like it reminds me of a Firestarter IIC for some reason

I like the configurations

I have to admit I honestly didn't realize the difference until I looked up the rules for a supercharger. A 2.5x increase vs a 2.25% really shows the difference with faster units.

The old art for the Ice Hellion species NEEDED re-doing. The poor thing looked like it was some minced beef put on a potato, rolled in hair from the floor of a barbers and then put in the mircrowave for 30 minutes. It also does not help that the fluff for it is very contradictory, some sources say its a flightless bird;

Quote
The flightless Ice Hellion birds

whereas this thing - https://www.sarna.net/wiki/Ice_Hellion_(species) is anything but a flightless bird and is more a therapod like dinosaur that's trying to be 'extra'. And then there's the Hellions symbol which looks more like a secretary bird, and there's also art for Ice Hellion units depicting a tusked but squat and fat quadrupedal thing with a beak and tusks. So there's zero consistency.

So with this in mind I contacted Matt Plog about doing a take on the Ice Hellion, we kept the same kinda 'raptor' esque shape (and size, the Veloceraptor of Jurrasic Park fame was only really about the size of a turkey, the Ice Hellion's 40cm tall) but instead of it running on two legs it can move as either a biped or quadruped (which is needed for running on snow and ice) as well as eliminating any raptor like killing claws on the feet. Instead we made the Ice Hellion all about the bite.

I'm sure folks have seen that vid of the Aligator Snapping Turtle biting down on a water melon - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgSurkfqXuI and here its the same, I asked him to model the head somewhat after a Snapper's but the 'problem' is that in all the art, Ice Hellions have these rather pronounced tusks that would get in the way of any bite. So in the fluff write up where i've headcanon expaned on them, the Ice Hellion has a very wide gape when it bites something, and here the tusks are useful because they dig in and gouge whatever they're biting, in addition to the beak acting like some organic bolt cutters.

Add lots of floof because Hector's damn cold, cold weather adaptions like the broad, padded and furry feet to act as snow shoes (not without precident, Canadian Lynx's have something similar) and I think we're a bit closer to something that works better as an animal rather than the hair covered burger potato. Oh and he put in a bit of sexual diamorphism, the female's the one on the right and she's a bit bigger than the males.

Any feedback is most welcome!

Drawn by Matt Plog this is a page from an upcoming fannon project i've been working on. Its showing three different scenes from major parts of it. Including the Khan of Clan Burrock having one of those *record scratch...Freeze frame* "yep that's me you're probably wondering..." moments. Lets just say it does not end well for him or his Clan.

So I'm seeing a Dire Wolf Widowmaker and an Executioner getting toasted, with a Battle Cobra Prime running past.  That's pretty action-packed - love it!  That Battle Cobra is just gorgeous!

I can't help but observe how much Matt Plog's art has improved over the years.  I can look at it forever :)  Now you just need a colorist!

I like it more than your initial version you can properly see the difference that makes it a "nova" I would not want to meet one of them that was in a bad mood

Fortunately Nova Cats are not psychotically aggressive unlike Smoke Jaguars, and I'd assume that they'd more flash their quills and make a show as a 'back the hell off now!' display rather than just going "IMMA KILL YOU!"
