Known Characters of the Circinus Federation
« on: 02 November 2020, 19:04:37 »
Are there any sources of information or stories to include any of the Battletech fiction about any known characters in or directly related to the Circinus Federation irregardless of the time period ?

I have most of the handbooks and sourcebooks but I am sure there are many out there with a metric ton more knowledge. Thank you all in advance for any and all help.

Circinus is a really under reped Faction. The Black Warriors were a cool concept.

There is a spionage story in battlecorps, one happening in a Canopian pleasure circus. One character is a black warrior. A major iirc.

The apocryphal German-only novel Blutige Jagd is mostly set on Andiron, in the Circinus Federation, at the tail end of the Civil War era.

Reading the info on the book it looks like a purely IS story set there by chance, though. All the relevant characters are Lyrans or clan wolf.

Yes, but the book does give some information into the local politics - namely, that GrĂ¼ner could essentially buy the entire planet, and how shaky the Circinus Federation's control over their territory really was, especially with no HPGs and the typical lack of JumpShip traffic endemic in the periphery. There's also that O'Reilly woman and her retinue. The appearance of the Gray's Ghosts merc unit (pirates moonlighting as mercs, really) also fits into the picture nicely. For all their pretense at being a government, the Circinus Federation was really a piratical Roman Empire roadshow. I think the Oberon Confederation was more of a real state than the Circinians were.
Then again, that's exactly how the periphery is generally described... no suprises here.

Sons of Janus in the ATOW Companion is one of favorite BT stories. It's set in Circinius Space during the Jihad, and it doesn't even have any mechs!
