System coordinates in the old Housebooks (calling Øystein)

There's a rundown of system coordinates (X/Y) in the back of the old Housebooks. I've been told that they've been declared non-canon by Øystein. :o
Given that printed data is generally held to be more canonical than graphical data (maps), what's the situation here? Are the coordinates still good except where they have been corrected, or are they altogether non-canonical now?

For maps the ruling ever back from FASA days with Line Developer Bryan Nystul was that the graphical maps are more correct than the coordinate listing from the old House Books. Likewise, the coordinate list in "Warriors of Kerensky" does not fit the map published, hence the map takes precedence. FanPro and Catalyst Game Labs has continued this ruling.
It is about the only place were art/graphics takes precedence over written word.

But that means that there are no (published) canonical coordinates whatsoever, correct?

Unfortunately, yes. When the choice at the time was between invalidating 15 years of maps (at the time), or the coordinate list that in all likelyhood, about 99.9% of the BattleTech players never use, it was an easy choice.

Thanks for the clarification! :)
So what Sarna.net BTW will do is extrapolate the (approximate) coordinates from the CGL-era maps (those credited to you) and treat older maps and published coordinate data as secondary canon, overridden by map placement.
Any chance that your coordinates will get officially published?

In print: extremely unlikely.
Online: who knows.
