More importantly, did you pack the sheets and the maps ;D

In the car! (mostly)

Also should I bring dice for you to make any MASC rolls you might decide to make?

My own dice can own me just fine, thank you very much! ;)

WWE 2018 is in the bag! (BT side, AS side will be the 13th, be there!)
Thanks to everyone who made it!

The Green Ghosts, despite taking pretty significant losses, managed to achieve their goals, and carried the day! Medals will be awarded to the surviving Stotzing Militia Hunter crew, as the rest of his force was completely wiped out. They never gave an inch, putting missiles on target even as a Direwolf was on top of them.

Fun moments:
- Black knight disappears when TAG catches him. So many missiles.
- 3 MechWarriors died due to double ammo explosion, head hit, falling over while KO. A 4th one got real close to that fate.
- The Hunchback IIC just wouldn't die. Until that turn he got himself two ammo explosions; see above.

Next event? Back to the Clan campaign on September 28! But don't forget about the AS event on the 13th!

The solution is just ignore Paul.

Sea Fox and Wolf.

Thanks to my fellow Diamond Shark for loaning me his dice and to the patriot for taking the shot. Also to Paul for running the event and the other 9 players for putting up with my dezgra spheroid tactics. When in Rome the Free Worlds League.

Hi, my name is Jon. Iv'e been a fan of battletech for years but never had a group to play with. Have my own mechs, tanks and boards and wanted to know if you guys wouldn't mind having a extra player. I live in southern maryland but i had cousins that lived in columbia which is only about 1.5 hours from where i live. I am in school but only taking 1 class, and work usually on the weekends but don't mind taking a day off. If i don't reply in a timely manner my email is drobeckj@live.com. Look forward to hearing from you.

Hey there Jon,

Glad to see a new face on the boards.  We have PLENTY of space to add a new player; we tend to run company vs company sized scenarios.  The next game is scheduled for September 29th at a place called Games and Stuff in Glen Burnie.  If you haven't been there before, its quite impressive.  The front part of the store is where they have all their products and the back half is their gaming area.

If you are able to join us that day, you're more than welcome to.  Start time is between noon and 1 PM; but if you can't get there until later no worries.  Until then, stay frosty.

Sincerely,
Jester

Shoot that is a little short notice. Ive already got my schedule for that week and work that day. Let me know when the next day is scheduled. Usually need about 3 weeks advance notice to get off of work. They work me EVERY weekend without fail :(. Ill try to make the next meet though. Or if you guys have a schedule like 3rd sat of every month or every sun, that sort of thing ill make sure i get off.

till then cant wait to hear from you

OK, next date: October 20th!

Less grinder planned for that one (came off of a 6 day week and had no time to prep last time)
(6 day week turned in to a 7 day one)

Not I.  While it isn't a long trip I don't have the funds available for a conference and hotel ATM.

Not sure. Both non-Grinder events are in the evening, starting at 7 p.m., which is much harder for me to do than daytime events. I might take a drive up and play a few rounds, we'll see.

Paul has said he won't be able to run a game in November or December. And possibly in January either? Not sure.

A group was putting together a game for this month on Facebook (BattleTech Mid-Atlantic group), but I think it may have happened this past weekend. I'll reach out to them and direct/remind them to post details here as well.

Defending the pass/Get off our planet will be continued on 8 December at Games and Stuff.
Presently
Pirates

Pirates, Master Blasters, have been on this planet since 3027.  As a base and settlement.
When the  Mega-Engineering-Mining Divisions scouts arrived checking the planet It was decided to lay low and see what would happen.  Months latter Multiple jump and drop ships landed on planet a proceeded to populate and repair one of the abandoned cities.
Part of their operation has been mining and selling to the Black markets. So some of the people working the mines are Shanghaied from their raids.
Most of the Blaster forces have been off planet on raids for supplies.  Those on hand kept hidden and performed raids to hid the fact they were here.  Now that some of the raiders are back they have decided to drive the new invaders out.

Mega-Engineering-Mining Division
With the Forth secession war Places to mine and make a profit outside war zones are scarce.  With that in mind they looked in their old records and found a few locations they had mined in the past until just after the fall of the SLDF.  After having the system scouted they sent a company Mech force, mercenary company, and hired an New Infantry company.

Life has been total chaos with cars around here, so I have no idea if I'll be able to make it in January, but will try.

I have to head up to Catonsville and don't think I'm going to make the game this weekend, but I might drop by toward the tail end of it.

Are we still on with the impending snow?  The car I'm being left this weekend is extremely light, and I'm not sure how it will handle the weather.

The weather report for MD looks better than the one for VA.  Little if any accumulation tomorrow up there.

Latest forecast is now saying 3-6 inches over the whole area, starting around noon.  I'm less worried about my car in the weather (still a worry, though) than I am the rest of traffic on the beltway and 95, especially on the way back tonight.  I figure 1030 will be when I make my go-no go call.  In the mean time, I'll prep to go.

It's a little early, but the National Weather Service just upgraded the Winter Storm Warning to 4-7 inches across the whole area.  After giving my wife and daughters the "drive carefully" speech on their way down to Norfolk last night, I'd never hear the end of it if I drove an hour north in the stuff.  Maybe next month...  :-\

Glad I decided to wave off... the snow started early down here, and the NWS has upgraded the expected accumulation to 5-10 inches...

Little to nothing was on the road on the way back, until I pulled into Springfield around 5.  At that point things were starting slick and visibility decreased.  I made it back to Fredericksburg by 6.  Definitely glad I decided to go straight home rather than stop by the store.

I'm pretty sure my little car wouldn't have been able to climb the hills around my neighborhood by that time.  The snow is starting to stick even on the parts they salted now...
