See the Annoucement (https://ironwindmetals.com/index.php/10-factory-news/103-iron-wind-metals-at-gencon-2019) for details. More pictures have been posted, still have a few more to get done today.
The Jupiter 3 and Thunderbolt IIC 2 went through some extra reworking during they're conversions to the variants. Both of them look stellar and Joel did an amazing job on them. I have posted IWM website the Record Sheets for Thunderbolt IIC 2 and Thor II E (in print version of 3145/3150 TRO).
More to come as I get info on some con specials. The special releases at gencon for Battletech 35th Anniversary have been posted. Both are in small clams with a Anniversary style package card based off the two early Battletech blister cards. They will be in limited supply at the show so 1 of each per purchase and we will have quantities set aside for Thursday and Friday. The remaining supply available Saturday and Sunday. Both are limited to show only release with this being the first and only time the Leviathan Heavy transport will be for sale.
Update: Uploaded new BT Alpha Lists
Note: Flatbed Truck, Each blister comes with two trucks and cargo to put on them. Parts to make either of the following variants, Mortar, SRM and rocket launchers. Pictures someone soon.

Thank you Speck.

Oh, I want to see what the official Arrow Regulator looks like now, after my 1 kitbash!

The mechwarrior miniatures when hit with the ink look really nice. Can't wait for them to go up on the webstore.
-
"Shen Long Battle Armor (3) - 3 wpn options"- So does this mean 3 suits and 3 options or 1 suit and 3 options? Any chance you will have any additional photos up before Gencon? I'm interest to know how much the flatbed trucks are going to cost me to make my Flat Bed Mafia a reality.

One SKU will have three bodies and a weapon sprue. We did three turret options, 4 Gun for Gauss/MG, Missile for MMR/SRM, and 2 Gun for Flamer/Grenade.
I should have price for flatbed trucks later this week once I get samples. A SKU will have two trucks, cargo containers, and two weapon options.

That they did. I color coded the bases to help ID what faction blister they are in. Will be bringing some from each back for display at gencon. Not bringing all of them.
-
Woo! Thanks again Speck!
-
Some great stuff coming out thanks.

IWM dice look gooood.

Between these Mechwarrior mini packs, the Kickstarter and the upcoming RP rules, my bank account is crying "Uncle" and ruing the day I ever heard of BattleTech...

I have uploaded new BT Alpha Lists and added links to the announcement.

The hover skirt in the picture posted today looks like the existing mini. Was that the wrong body in the picture?

Compare the pictures, part under turret on the new variant to the old one.

Just got Jade Falcon mech pack mechs today. Will have images up later in week after I get them built.
Also added info about Flatbed truck.

I see. I was hoping the front and rear hoverskirt would be joined.

I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of the Jade Falcon lance. Now I wish I were going to GenCon.
Will the miniatures in the lance be available after GenCon?

A lot of work.
Figures. I just finished building the original a couple weeks ago after having it for well over a year. :P Looking forward to seeing it.

Those dice con exclusive or will they be available on the store later?

Those dice con exclusive or will they be available on the store later?
As of now they are at convention, since they are handle by who runs the convention booths for IWM. If they do well, I might be able to convince Mike to have some made for sale on the webstore.
More to come on this after gencon.
-
The following images are up in the image article linked off of my announcement.
Buraq BA
Flatbed Trucks (Note: picture has three trucks but blister come with two, I wanted to show different options)
Jade Falcon Mech Pack
Thor II E
Gyrfalcon 4
Jupiter 3
I have some more images to do today yet, so more to come.
-
I like the look of the Jup 3.
-
I like the look of the Jup 3.
It is pretty dang awesome in person. Joel did a fabulous job on it. There was a lot of brain storming for this conversion (really a resculpt) before Joel started work on it.
-
Awesome. I look forward to getting the mechs once they hit the website.
-
The flatbed trucks look great. Cant wait to get a couple of them
-
Oh man, the flatbeds are beautiful! Gonna need some...
-
Definitely in for some flatbeds

The following images are up in the image article linked off of my announcement.
I don't know if there's anything you can do about it, but those articles aren't phone-friendly on my end. I can't zoom out or scroll sideways, so I can't view half of the images. (android + chrome) I don't get on a PC too often these days.
-
Now that's a more aesthetically pleasing Jupiter to me. Great work!

I had the same problem. You can have your phone's browser load the desktop site, which will then allow you to zoom in or out and scroll around.

Frontend templating is already set to be responsive for desktop, tablet and phone. Loading fine here and can zoom in and out. Not sure what the issue is.

Didn't work for me either, had to use desktop mode. Chrome on Android.

Plain text scales fine (though no zoom). The table and pictures just don't want to play along.
Edit: As abou stated, desktop mode works.
-
Try tapping and holding on the picture. In most browsers you'll get a "view image" option. The image file is larger than what's shown on the page.
Desktop users can right click for the "view Image" option.

Will the Jade Falcon pack mechs be released individually?

Will the Jade Falcon pack mechs be released individually?
Yes sometime after gencon. Will have more info after show.

Wish they could get the original Jupiter, Thunderbolt IIC , and Gyrfalcon mini fixed while their at it. Their oversized.
I cant wait till we can get those minis!

What "hawk" mini?
I blanked out. Its Gyrfalcon
-
Ah, right. Done that too, brain's funny, substituting words when it can't find the right one. There was a tweet where a physics professor said he said "light crumb" instead of photon....
Anyway. Gyrfalcon oversized? Damn :/ Just how badly?

The guns are really long on original. Mech pack one the guns are cut down plus body redone.
-
Hmm, they don't look too bad in the pic you got on its store page.
Let's check Camospecs.... ohh.
-
5mm was taken out of the arm guns for the one in the mech pack.
-
Any chance of a side by side with the old and new?
-
Any chance of a side by side with the old and new?
.
The new one just came out, so i doubt there size comparison so far.
There only a picture of the mini on their website. Which in way hides what long-ness of the cannon/arms
(https://ironwindmetals.com/store/images/btmechs/20-5082-BW1.jpg)
Since Camospecs is DOWN. There no good picture to show you.
Mine Gyrfalcon buried in mini-cases. Trust me, the guns are huge on it, mini like size of a heavy mech in comparison to most of the minis. Jupiter miniature i received would be classified as "Extra-Thick" by Achoo and slightly mis-matched. Parts don't quite fit, but i made them fit anyways that hard way.

I can't say much for the current back-end functionality of the site, but many images can still be viewed.
The new variant also has the wings attached to the backpack piece for greater stability there.
-
Hey Speck, will the release schedule be updated after Gen Con?
And thanks for the photos. Everything looks great. Kudos to all the sculptors! 8)

Thanks. If you type in Camospecs.com - it don't load. I did web check see if the site was up or down, it says it down.

I wish there was another mech you can place next to the mini. I don't have access to mine right now.

Still no pics of the Thunderbolt IIC?

Still no pics of the Thunderbolt IIC?
Really curious on that one. I remember being very disappointed in the original.
-
Hope it's not as HUGE as the original mold.
-
With all these rescuplts, I wonder if we'll ever see a new Madcat IIe
-
Still no pics of the Thunderbolt IIC?
Will not have them before show due to a variety of reason.
-
Just update first post and the gencon articles on IWM website.

What's the price for the Leviathan Transport and Clearterminator?

What's the price for the Leviathan Transport and Clearterminator?
I believe you mean the ExterminaClear, good sir.

ExClearMinator?
What's the price for the Leviathan Transport and Clearterminator?
-
Darn going to miss the chance to get a Leviathan. Even at the price still worth it.
-
Well crackers... Any chance those of us not going to GenCon can get a chance of purchasing the Leviathan??
-
anything special about that ship aside from being rare?
-
Imagine if the Atlas or Kodiak or (insert your favorite 100-tonner here) were made in only two sculpts. One looked amazing, but never made widely available, and produced only in extremely limited numbers. The other was widely available, but an extremely disappointing sculpt, with very soft details and ill-fitting parts.
-
So it's the icon ship? Makes sense.
-
So it's the icon ship? Makes sense.
Its also transport has variants that happens to be arguably the most powerful warships that's game has ever had.
-
There’s nothing to argue about; It is the most powerful ship ever built.
-
Just a FYI to those at the show. We got some restocks in on clear exterminator and leviathan so the limited per purchase has been removed. Factory did a great job getting more done for the show last two days.
-
I am spending way too much time trying to figure out how I want to arrange the cargo on my SRM trucks. Will it be possible to order those bits individually later?
Wish I'd paid more attention to how many trucks were in the blister. The 2 blisters I picked up aren't going to be enough so hopefully my friend who's doing the full weekend(lucky *******) will be able to snag me too more.
Is the rocket variant's record sheet Operation Klondike only, or has it showed up somewhere else too?
-
Record sheets for the flatbed truck only show up in RS: 3060 and RS: Operation Klondike.

Sold out of the flatbed trucks today.
I will find out about the bit after the show.
Now sleep time.
-
I am amused that the flatbed trucks seem to have sold as well as some mech sculpts.
-
One of the final holdouts from 3060. We have waited TWENTY YEARS to field trucks with missiles in the bed :D
-
Anyone catch a pictures of IWM's booth at the con so we can see what other mechs minis and vehicles looked like?
-
I know as soon as I can I will order some of the Levithans. Hopefully 4.
-
The trucks are pretty sweet. I'm still trying to figure out what to have them carry. Spent a good amount of time tearing through my bits looking for potential cargo. The ATM9 from the Balius works fantastic as a large crate if you shave off the little dots on the side.
I almost picked up a Leviathan because I'm a sucker for rare stuff, but it's cost was too much for something I'd likely just leave in a booster. Better it end up in the hands of someone who will paint it and get it in a game.
If the molds are still there, why aren't they regularly available? Speck explained that the clear Exterminator was because it's a serious pain in the ass to produce(I believe it), but I forgot to ask about the Leviathan.

Because it was produced as an exclusive. Specifically, prize support for 2003's FanPro Commando World Wide Event, Trial of Retribution (https://www.sarna.net/wiki/Trial_of_Retribution).

Check out the bins that come with the j27 ammo hauler. They have missiles and a cargo container that may fit.

Any good picks of the Thunderbolt IIC?
I'd like some more of the Jupiter too.

I added one to the GC images page on IWM website.

It looks pretty sweet, IMO.

-
Yeah I’m getting one
-
If someone buys one, could you take a 3/4 side photo, like the viewing angle from the line art from TRO: Prototypes?
I love that line art, but this pic doesn't give a good impression of the torso relative to the hips, which is where I greatly dislike the original Thud IIc sculpt.
-
If anyone was wondering, here's the difference in the new lasers on the gyrfalcon as well as how the wings were handled. The torso has more rounded edges and the legs appear to be unchanged.
So far it looks like the AC2s will fit just fine on the new arms.
-
I wish those were in the scrapyard!

Given that the 4 has a one-piece wing, I'd prefer getting the 1's arms from the scrapyard and put them on the 4.

Definitely interested in the gyrfalcon 1 arms as well.

Its on my list, so stay tuned.

so .... regarding the Leviathan....
Will there be any distinguishing characteristics to differentiate between the original and the 2019 release, or did my original just get devalued this summer?
-
That thunderbolt IIC is vastly superior to the original mini i got.
-
built mine yesterday and it looks great. Only problem I had was the laser pointing up like it was some kind of energy based artillery(requires a mirror mounted to your spotter plane). Tried modding mine to have the laser pointing forward with 'meh' results. I guess if he leans forward a little or only fights up hill he should be fine.
-

The sprue in the clamshell has '2001' stamped on it, so I think it's from the original mold. That said, the clamshell does have new labeling, so that may help distinguish it.

So that means there's nothing to distinguish the original model from the Gencon, which means there's no way to confirm that an original is in fact an original. This in effect devalues ALL originals despite how rare they actually are.
Awesome.
-
Very awesome. It's not like anyone was going to retire or go to college off a Lev, might as well make it available to folks who actually want to play with one.
-
Am I jumping the gun or is that Lev going to be fore general sale?? I can wish on this!!!
-
oops nvm
-
Very awesome. It's not like anyone was going to retire or go to college off a Lev, might as well make it available to folks who actually want to play with one.
The Levithan could've VERY EASILY have been re- released in a way that didn't devalue the original in ways other than simply monetary ( the actual dollar amount of which is irrelevant). Its rarity was obviously quite intentional from the start and deliberately maintained, afterall.
And just because its not disappointing to you does not invalidate the disappointment of others.
-
I don’t understand. Why is making a Leviathan mini rare a good thing? (Or, alternatively, why is a 35th anniversary limited rerelease of the mini a bad thing?) Is there a meaning behind the desired rarity/exclusivity?
-
Exclusivity is its own reward to some people. GOTHIK mentioned 'value', too.
I think it's incredibly silly. Oh no, more people have the same toy as you do. ::)
-
++mod notice++
You can disagree with someone without mocking their position. Do it.
-
The popularity of collectable games speaks to the reasoning. Obviously rarity means something to some people.
I agree that there should be something on the actual miniature to distinguish it from the previous limited release. If not, what was the point of a limited release in the first place? Now it's just special packaging, not a special miniature.
-
To borrow a phrase, it's not just the thing, it's also the story behind the thing. OK, yes there are others. But this one was picked up at [convention] where I had a really good time, and was the envy of others. Doesn't matter how many releases there are, nothing is going to take that away.
-

Thanks, Weirdo.

I hear you, dgorsman and while yes I agree with both you and Weirdo in his first reply to me that IT IS great that after all this time, there's been this special opportunity for others to get their hands on a highly coveted model, in your own way you actually validate the core of my point as Cache also does ...

There is a history to this model. It's not just a limited run, but something that had original significance.
Despite the fact that his post was not in support of my position, Scotty (perhaps unwittingly) even helps to validate the point for me:
Exclusivity is its own reward to some people. GOTHIK mentioned 'value', too.
Altogether those posts fully capture exactly what I was saying. That given the history of the miniature, the exclusivity of it's procurement (e.g., a prize for participation in Trial of Retribution events in 2003), and it's extreme rarity (e.g., there were only 120 made) I believe it would be an understatement to say that mine or anyone else's disappointment that there's nothing to distinguish the original from the re-released miniature is justified. Clearly all the reasons that have been discussed so far by us as a community illustrate that this miniature holds value for reasons that are not limited to being merely monetary which cannot be diminished.
-
I get it. It sucks to have something that's so rare and discover it's not so rare anymore. I think though that there's some items that shouldn't stay exclusive or have ever been exclusive in the first place. This is a good example. It's clearly desired by a lot of players of the game for reasons other than its rarity. As I understand, the only alternative is a pewter potato.
It's unfortunate that this had to happen with a warship. There's not really a lot of ways they could have created a new sculpt that would be distinguishable from the original. Had this been a mech at least they could have given the new model a different pose. Also, a mech would probably been easier to justify the cost of creating an all new mold.
-
While i'm happy that the transport version - btw. one of the best looking BT warship minis at all - is now available in low numbers. I also see the trouble for collectors that were lucky enough to have one of the original run.
A different looking new sculpt of the transport version would be an option to match both goals, but would cause costs on the side of IWM with a low profit expectation.
That said i think there is an issue with the new release. It seems all of them only have 3 thrusters in it, but should have 4.
-
I appreciate you guys seeing my point.
-

I noticed that too. I constructed a thruster nozzle out of plastic tubing.

That is my fault and once Mike is back going to get things figured out so we can send the fourth one out to people. I had looked up pictures before we packed them and the angles it looked like 3 not 4.

I'd been meaning to send an email about that. I'll hold off, until you give the go.

Thanks for the note
Once Mike gets caught up this week from being most of the last two and half weeks I will post info about the fourth engine.
