Title: WIP - no-dachi 2ko and Phoenix hawk 7k
Post by: RoundTop on 29 March 2018, 09:41:38
A work in progress of some mods I'm working on.

The Phoenix hawk had the right arm medium laser mount filed off, replaced the laser barrel with some copper tubing.  Left arm I carefully carved the small laser barrel off.

On the backpack I used the missile mounts from the shoulders of a no-dachi I modified a few years back, pointed down, to look like jump boosters.

On the no-dachi I did a lot.

Filed off the missile launchers
Filed off the weapon mount under left arm
Filed down srm4 torso mount. Filled with green stuff.
Drilled and mounted 5 torso lasers (front) with copper tubing), 2 on the back.
Kit bashed a triple laser mount for the left arm by using some old leftover parts. Then green stuff to wrap it together. Cut ppc barrel off, mounted laser mount to the lower elbow.
On and pinned the head.

Will post more pics tonight and as I paint.

I don't do much of it, but I do like making my mechs looks more appropriate.

Tonight I have to file some green stuff to blend it right, then attach the arms. Will take pics of that and the back of the PHX that shows the "jump boosters" (aka: Improved jump jets).

They look similar to the back of the pillager (The Keg backpack) but smaller.

I've made a NDA-2KO before, but I did a different alignment of lasers (looked like a flipped L) and I drilled out the PPC, added a barrel to it, then a tiny bit of green stuff. Didn't come out the way I hoped.

Some more photos, this time showing the backs, and all parts glued on.
