I bet Comstar need to do a lot of repairs - that takes time and cost money - in all the HPG's until now controlled by WoB.

Of course, that would lead to an economic implosion for the League March as HPG service is shut down across the whole March. Which would be a tiny problem for everyone living there and their defenders. A defecto interdiction is no small thing for a new and fragile state.

ComStar must have built HPG parts factories somewhere (both here and in canon) though as otherwise the network would have started falling into disrepair before even the Jhiad. So perhaps it’s not a problem.

The sudden crash in revenue OTOH might get the Word of Blake’s attention. The Confederation was the last major intact state to recognise them. I’d be stunned if the very anti-WOB factions in the FWL haven’t invited ComStar back in and kicked the WOB out.

You might see the Word more willing to work with the Combine as a result ... or perhaps they might insist on throwing out ComStar and being invited in?

Also; nice and shrewd move offering ComStar the two unfinished Capellan Cruisers. I’d only charge them for the work remaining - or even offer for ComStar to pick them up and take them to a yard ship to finish themselves. So you can free up the yards for upgrades and retrofits. All but giving away two Cruisers (albeit cruisers that need to be completed) is an excellent way to smooth ruffled feathers...
Although it’s bewildering that ComStar are so willing to throw money at Victor like they are again  ???

A big thing that hasn't been mentioned, I wonder how the transfer of HPG operations (and funds for that matter) from the Word of Blake to ComStar has been going through all this chaos?
You'd think that the WOB would have flatly refused to abandon their HPGs to 'Heretics' (at least not without disabling them or something) but the sheer scale and speed of Victors assault and frankly limited WOB forces at the HPGs thanks to concentrating the Milita into big units...

Be interesting to see how this is going....

Considering MIIO and DMI probably have a good idea of what help they have given to the WoB and the movement by the Dracs towards Terra he may given them the same ultimatium he gave the CC.

It seems you may have overlooked the Lao Hu and Jinggau class heavy mechs. Presuming you don't have plans for them, I suggest restarting production ASAP with the intent of supplying the new March Militias and the rebuilding St Ives Lancers with capable cavalry mechs but also guarantee a percentage of the production runs to the Sun Jaguars as a reward for thier services, since the "up close and personal" and aggressive  fighting capabilities of these two designs would appeal to the Jaguars preferred tactical doctrine. After some some appropriate name changes of course.

Speaking of the Sun Jaugars, are they capable of working on the HPGs?
Why does everyone "Fire at Will"? Is he really that bad of a person? And what did he do to make everyone want to shoot him?

The Shengli lines that produced them have been totally trashed in the fighting on Victoria. They are being rebuilt as Caeser and Axman lines by Johnston.

3069 - July - Peace

Leaving New Avalon the First Prince was rushed by a command link to St Ives to meet with the representatives of the new "Sian Republic" to hopefully be able to create a peace. To say that the balance of power strongly favoured the First Prince was an understatement. The Republic consisted of merely 8 worlds and a handful of battlemech regiments most of which were under strength. For such a small power they did have a huge naval asset in the form of the SRS Franco Martel, a Feng Huang class cruiser, but that was about their only major asset. Worse it was almost mandatory that the huge cruiser remain at Sian as a number of other former Capellan warships were still in existence and had presumably sworn themselves to the Andurien and Victoria Commonalities.

An almost pro-forma request that several of the worlds nearest Sian be allowed to take part in referendums as to joining the Republic rather than being absorbed into the Federated Sun's was shut down with an equally pro-forma response of "no". Thereafter both parties settled down to actually craft a permanent peace treaty. While these discussions wouldn't end until August the basics were swiftly hammered out. There would be no massive reparations placed upon the Republic by the Federated Suns, although they would have to make at least some reparations towards the rebuilding of the city of Tian-tan, mostly in the form of raw materials and construction type industrial mech's. When the Republic's negotiators pointed out that Sian had no facility to build these mech's it was pointed out that they could buy a license for the Chaffee Light Industrial Mech or a similar such mech and then retool some light battlemech lines to produce it. Perhaps the Wasp or Stinger lines at the Hellespont Industrial plant on Sian for instance. The intent was clear - not only would these reparations help rebuild St Ives it would also have the effect of reducing the Republic's military output.

No limit was placed upon the military buildup of the Republic, given it's hostile neighbours that would have been absurd, but it was pointed out that if any of their regiment's "strayed" across the border and this was proven the Federated Suns would not be forgiving. The unit in question would be expected to be disbanded and it's entire equipment handed over to the AFFS along with every member who took part in the incursion to be tried as pirates. If the Republic refused to do this, then the AFFS would destroy the unit itself - and annex the world it was based upon. This was explained as non-optional. The Republic would not be allowed to engage in raids and attempts to undermine the new League March. Any attempt to do so would be met with brutal and immediate repercussions. The Republic was also forbidden from any military alliances or military sales to any other nation without the approval of the First Prince. If they joined the (now almost defunct) Second Star League their vote was to be either withheld/abstained or placed at the disposal of the First Prince. They were not to vote against his wishes - although they could just not vote by abstaining.

The Sian Republic was also forced to open up all remaining records from the Capellan Confederation era to the AFFS's military intelligence officers while simultaneously accepting the "guilt" of their former parent state in starting this war. They were allowed to include a clause that specifically disavowed this guilt moving forward for the Republic - but they had to admit the Confederation had caused this war. Given that their new government had already totally denounced the "mad Liaos" in no uncertain terms this wasn't as major an issue as it might have been.

During these discussions the First Prince made a point of including Duchess Cassandra Allard-Liao, who he had agreed with beforehand, would press for harsher terms and demands than would be offered by the First Prince. While the playing of good cop/bad cop was an ancient tactic, this was because it was effective.

One final element of the negotiations was kept secret. The First Prince agreed to look the other way if the Republic launched attacks on either of the other 2 successor states to the Confederation and to have his regiments keep up pressure upon them to help the Republic. While he didn't want the Republic to grow too strong, he found them easily the most reasonable of the 3 states to deal with. Left unspoken was the fact that this clandestine support might change if the Republic took things too far.

No formal peace treaties will be signed between the FedSun's and the Victoria Commonality or the Andurien Commonality, but ceasefires will go into formal effect.

Even as these meetings are taking place the First Prince also meets with his new March Lady and discusses further plans for the League March. In recognition for Wei's attempt to hold back the CCAF and remain part of the FedCom (particularly those of the "servitor" class) the 2 leaders agreed to support a new factory complex there. Given the desire to standardise the equipment of the League March with the rest of the Federated Sun's it was agreed that the First Prince would help fund the construction of a facility from Jalastar Aerospace to build Centurion battlemechs, Javelin-O omnimechs and Sparrowhawk aerospace fighters. While the First Prince would provide funding, the Duchess of St Ives would help the construction with generous tax breaks for local Wei based firms to help in the construction and longer term tax breaks for her people investing in the project. Construction was provisionally planned to start in September.

The First Prince also discusses with the Duchess the possibility of returning Hildco Interplanetary to the jumpship "game". Although this would be a longer term project. The Duchess is very keen for this project to be considered and pushes hard for it.

While the First Prince is on St Ives his wife meets with the Free Worlds League ambassador again. In a frank discussion she explains that the FedSun's will not tolerate a threat on their border from the Free Tikonov Province of the League and in the strongest possible terms suggests he explain to his masters (whoever they are) back in the League that the Free Tikonov's attempt to rebuild a military (when their previous one was destroyed invading the Suns) will not be tolerated. She points out this is the last warning the FedSun's will give the League on this matter. The ambassador assures her he will pass this warning onto the Free Worlds League.

At Firgrove the Firgrove Consortium see's it's Reiver aerospace fighter line go operational. With the continued steady sales of the Ahab and the frankly higher than expected sales of the Vulcan aerospace fighter the company gets loans from a number of banks to add a second Vulcan line which is due to be completed by November 3070.

Jalastar finishes their last Sparrowhawk line on the planet of Baxley this month. This now brings their production on the planet up to 2 Sparrowhawk lines and a Javelin-O, making it one of their smaller facilities. However any plans to expand the facility are shelved when word comes in about the the First Prince's plan to add a facility on Wei.

The flagship New Independence Weaponry plant on Kestrel see's it's new Zeus class assault battlemech line go operational this month. This means there are now 7 assault class lines in operation along with 2 smaller heavy lines making it one of the most prolific suppliers of assault battlemech's in the FedSuns. Plans are put in place to add a Battlemaster line in the next year.

On the Clan Sun Jaguar world of Valois their Jaguar Industries plant see's the first omnimech line go operational on the 19th July. The Mist Lynx class omnimech might not be one of the larger flashier Clantech omnimechs produced in the past on Huntress but it is a massive leap forward in military production for the Sun Jaguars. The Clan begins preparing to add another omnimech facility, with almost universal agreement that they will build upon their current production achievements by adding a Warhawk class line. The Khan makes a point of informing the First Prince that as soon as her own light omnimech needs are filled the Mist Lynx will be offered for sale to the AFFS. A number will soon show up in the Davion Light Guards for instance.

In the Free Worlds League the Lyran "peacekeepers" expand their current scope with the 1st Skye Jaegers, 4th Skye Rangers RCT and 3rd Hesperus Guards RCT moving into the Border Protectorate and the planet of Oliver. For the first time however they are met with stiff resistance from FWLM troops. On Oliver the 6th Free Worlds League Legionnairres put up a fierce fight against the 4th Skye Rangers before finally being driven of planet - leaving the mauled Rangers to take possession of the Brigadier and Quickscell plants there. However on Zosma the 1st Skye Jaegers are attacked while still landing by the returned Steel Guard. Defending their homes the Steel Guard smash the Jaeger's LZ and destroy over a battalion of troops before the Jaegers are forced to withdraw. Similarly on Alula Australis the Iron Guard and the still green Adamantine Guard attack the equally green 3rd Hesperus Guard RCT. The Lyran unit finds itself soon engaged in a large scale "brawl" with the Adamantine Guard when the more experienced Iron Guard shifts and hits them in the flank. After a 3 day battle the Hesperus Guard manages to negotiate a ceasefire to allow it to retreat off world - leaving almost half it's equipment behind on the battlefield, much of it is then salvaged by the Border Guard units to make up their losses.

These reverses call into question the Archon's plan to expand the "peacekeeping" operations his troops have been conducting into the Terran Corridor region. However the seizure of the important industrial world of Oliver quietens most of these questions - although the planet remains isolated due to the fierce defence of the Border Guard. This action will have another unforeseen repercussion in the coming months...

And that is why Peter was an idiot for trying to do the "peacekeeping" thing. Now he actually has to fight people and it becomes obvious that the whole operation was nothing more than a land grab same as the Liao's invasion of the FWL. That puts him in the company of madmen which considering the discontent in the LA about choosing the wrong brother is something he cannot afford. If he wants to salvage this he needs to stop anymore attempts at expansion and refocus his energy and resources into building up his current holdings. He sees the major benefits Victor has gained from doing just that and Peter has a strong Industrial base and plenty of worlds that could make use of the build up. He should at the very least be increasing his warship production along with Dropship and Jumpship production.

I agree he should be building back up his realm after the damage the clans caused and that mad Kat did to the LA and getting ready for the fight against the Clans and the WoB. He should also be trying to encourage the same growth as Victor did as you said especially if you look at how much industry he already has he is guilty of resting on his laurels.

Also why would anyone want to take a quickcell factory? Their stuff is pretty poor quality.

Steal the factory from them and install a new owner to get things up to standard maybe? Or just do what Victor is doing and bitchslap them into quality control standards or else they get ruined.

it was not just Brigadier Corp old factory (dropships and mechs?)

Quickscell had Condor, LRM Carrier, SRM carriers, Scorpion light tank.  that would help with rebuilding

and something called Aerofighter unlimited.  so maybe two old fighter lines.

All of this could help LC

If Peters intention was to try and show he is as much Hanse's Son as Victor, he's really failed badly here.

I mean, Victor clearly didn't WANT war, but was goaded into it by Sun Tzu and his sister pushing One Time Too Many. And when he went to war, he went to war. He has smashed into the Capellan Confederation like his dad, with the cloak of righteousness and made no pretenses about the fact that his goal was to destroy the Capellan Confederation forever as a great power. A power with a history as long as my arm of being a brutal police state getting away with war crimes and being just as ruthless in defense.

Victor however took up the gauntlet and shoved it down Sun Tzu's throat, finishing the job his Father stated in a ruthless, brilliant, brutal campaign.

Peter?

Peter took advantage of the FWL in the middle of a civil war, didn't even have the balls to face up to the fact he is simply engaging in conquest for the sake of conquest by picking on a weak, easy target. And even THEN he can't do it anywhere near as well as Victor can! Took a few weak border worlds and now is starting to face increasingly stiff resistance (and might just start to reunite the FWL, external threats tend to do that!). He has done a small insult to the FWL as a whole by taking a cheap shot at them which means that they'll not forget this. It hasn't materially changed things enough to really be worth the pretty heavy deterioration in the longer term its going to cause. And Peter is just snapping up undefended and minimally defended worlds with massive force under the incredibly transparent label of 'peacekeeping' on worlds that were perfectly peaceful, then finally recoiling when he runs into a *real* fight...

It is not going to do ANYTHING for his internal image compared to Victor really.

I mean anyone who had a brain would have seen that the FWLs internal chaos was the PERFECT time to in fact draw down forces on that border and, after hiring every Mercenary unit you can and sweet talking Khan Kell around, going after the Jade Falcons to try and snap them back from another dozen worlds, focus on destroying as many of their premier units as you could to reduce them as a threat. A REAL fight against a REAL enemy who is squatting on an awful lot of Lyran worlds. Peter could have been The Falcon Slayer!
Or for a less ambitious attack, focused on a single deep strike raid against Clan Wolf; go after Katherine in a massive full scale attack on Tamar. Hit it with over a dozen crack RCTs with warship support from deep space. Kill Ward, capture Katherine, smash the hell out of Alpha Galaxy (with kills on as many of the Clan Council Bloodnamed as possible) then pull back. You can even announce that as Vlad publicly repudiated the Great Refusal, Peter see's absoloutly no reason not to kick the dogs around now...

Hell he could have even just been classic Lyran Military-Industrial Peter and finally snapped out of his idleness and start to copy Victor. Start a massive industrial buildup while everyone else was busy. New shipyards for warships, new ground forces factories, new training cycles for the LAAF so that he has the tools needed when an opportunity came up.

Instead he's 'Vulture Peter' ....

Then again, given Victors (predictable) failures at the negotiating table this time around once again, you know throwing stones in glass houses and all that :p

The thing is if he had just kept his forces on the first targets from the "peacekeeping" actions he very well could have played it off as just that. Instead, he kept pushing on that front and has gotten slapped down for it. Getting beaten at that as well by green forces at weak border worlds. Peter needs to get off his ass and start actually paying attention if this was his plan he needs to refocus if this was a move by the Dukes or Nobles he needs to come down hard to reassert his position. The LA needs to start building more forces again they are still one of the riches realms in the Inner Sphere and can easily do it. They have just as much information as the FedSuns that they can start building new ships both their current classes and like the FedSuns upgraded Lyran designs from the past. Plus the Clan ships they have would allow them to build updated versions of those as well.

3069 - August - Shiva

After having brought the Sian Republic-Federated Sun's Peace Treaty to it's final points the First Prince deputised the new March Lady of the League March to sign the treaty on his behalf and left St Ives. Again using a command chain of jumpships and with warships strategically placed along the route to ensure his safety he travelled quickly to first New Syrtis and then on to Islamabad. At New Syrtis he met with Duke Hasek and discussed with him briefly the Duke's plans for improving the defences of his March. Prince Victor agreed to almost all of the proposals - namely the expansion of the independent command of the 1st New Syrtis Hussars LCT to be the basis for a new brigade of LCT class units native to the Capellan March and the 2 planned new Borderer regiment's at Preston and Claxton and promised support for these commands. He also backed plans to rebuild and reopen the destroyed Capellan military academy on Victoria - agreeing with the Duke that the academy should be named simply the Victory Academy.

Leaving New Syrtis the First Prince then moved on to Islamabad where he was greeted with a series of parades by both the Islamabad CrMM and 3rd Avalon Hussars RCT. Also present were elements of the 2nd Avalon Hussars RCT as well as the 1st Davion Guards who were escorting the First Prince. Once the parades had finally came to a conclusion the First Prince began his meetings with the commanding officers of the 3 units which were garrisoning the Islamabad Combat Region as well as a number of civilian leaders. He made 2 proposal's to them. The first was that the 2nd and 3rd Avalon Hussars RCT's would detach a third of their strength to form the basis of 2 new Avalon Borderer LCT which would take up their garrison postings allowing the Hussar's to be freed up for other deployments. This move was met with a great deal of hostility particularly from the civilian leadership. They had helped to form the 2nd and 3rd Avalon Hussars on the specific understanding that they would be retained to garrison the Combat Region after all.

The First Prince acknowledged this, but pointed out that the main threat to the region - the Taurian Concordant - had been largely dealt with. Retaining 2 entire front line RCT's in the Combat Region was massive overkill against the few pirate raids that took place. Indeed studies conducted by the High Command on New Avalon indicated that 2-3 LCT sized formations would be much better suited to counter these threats. In light of their fears however he promised to form an additional Avalon Borderer LCT within the Combat Region to act as a more mobile reserve while allowing both Islamabad and Panpour to be garrisoned full time, while also rotating either the 2nd or 3rd Avalon Hussar's back into the region whenever it was possible. Which would give the additional benefit of keeping the ties between the units and the local communities alive.

With his audience (who had started the meeting almost in awe of their First Princes's presence) now lapsed into sullen silence the First Prince brought out the carrot. He informed them that as they knew it was his life's work to strengthen the AFFS and the realm as a whole so that it was safe from any foreign invaders. In the pursuit of this he had formed several new brigades - such as the New Avalon Cavaliers, Avalon Borderer's and Lexington Combat Guards - and reformed others such as the Dragonlords. He had long been impressed by the valour of the Islamabad CrMM who had always carried the banner of the now defunct Messengers of Shiva. It was his intent (if they agreed) to reform the Messengers from the current Islamabad CrMM, breaking the March Militia into 2 LCT sized formations to restore the Messengers of Shiva to the active rolls. The Islamabad CrMM would then be reformed. To support this new formation a small military academy would be founded on Basantapur to provide recruits not only for the Islamabad CrMM but the Messengers of Shiva and indeed the local Avalon Borderer formations.

The sullen acceptance the First Prince had faced from his subjects at the loss of "their" Avalon Hussars RCT's was totally dispelled by this announcement. The officers of the Islamabad CrMM in particular were enthused by the prospects of being converted into front line commands and realising their ancient heritage. While the nobles of the region were aware that such investments would more than make up for the losses of the 2nd and 3rd Hussars in terms of revenue and would potentially lead to more worlds sharing in the military basing of these units. Plus it would be almost a certainty that these new units would largely be equipped with the production of the local Jalastar Aerospace plants. The First Prince did state that the newly reformed Messengers of Shiva LCT would be deployed across the Federated Suns and would not be merely for local defence. They would carry the warrior culture of the people of the Islamabad Combat Region to the stars and help defend the entire Federated Suns.

The month ended with the First Prince still on Islamabad continuing the planning and discussions with the various officers and nobles to ensure their support for his project. While he knew he could merely command their obedience - and with his popularity with the common people of the FedSuns would be successful in quashing any resistance to his project, he intended to bring them onside and actively supporting him rather than trying to frustrate him. For instance one suggestion that was made that he agreed with was that prior to any redeployment the 2nd and 3rd Avalon Hussars RCT would deploy en-mass and move into the Pirates Haven to run a sweep in an attempt to clean out that long time nest of pirate activities. With support from the 7th Corvette Flotilla perhaps.

On New Avalon a few staff officers raised with Marshal of the Armies Jackson Davion the continued support/basing of a number of Borderer units. For instance the Aragon, Bell, Kittery and Mitchel Borderer regiments had seen the border they were to guard pushed long past them. It was suggested that perhaps these units could be disbanded and their personnel and equipment converted either to Avalon Borderer commands or perhaps to FedSun's Dragoons or Avalon Hussars RCT's. Jackson Davion had these proposals written up, but held them back to await the First Princes's views. The First Prince was expected back on New Avalon as a priority next month - given that his son was expected to be born at the end of September! While Victor Davion might be considered by many within the Federated Suns (and no few outside of it) to be perhaps the finest First Prince in centuries given his recent triumphs, everybody knew that if he wasn't there for the birth his wife would never let him live it down!

On Outreach work began on the latest rebuild factory line. Despite some attempts to push for a more flexible medium class battlemech to be produced the Wolf's Dragoons had decided that they wished to return their iconic Marauder II C battlemech to production. Given the complexities of this design and difficulties in building an entirely new plant to build it this project wasn't expected to be completed until the start of January 3071.

The Bergan Industries plant on Andalusia completes it's first battlemech line (it already has 3 Waylander Mobile Base lines operating) with the Locust entering production. While not a flashy battlemech with the expansion of the FedSun's the demand for battlemech's like the Locust remains high, not only to rebuild savaged recon lances but also form up new companies of March and Planetary Militia's.

Johnston Industries announce that they will be adding a new facility on the world of New Hessen to help supply the ComGuards. The initial line will be a Thunderbolt-NAIS production facility. They will also be adding a new battlemech to their stable of designs, the Valiant axe wielding light battlemech. This will be produced on New Hessen and on New Syrtis.

On Tikonov the New Independence Weaponry plant see's it's new Zeus line go operational. This brings the total to 2 lines of Zeus within the Federated Suns, most of their production is currently going to replacing worn out Zeus's leftover from the FedCom era and producing parts to keep them operational. The design isn't exactly popular within the AFFS although the FedSun's Dragoons do have several officers who like the design and request it for their companies.

Within the Free Worlds League a number of provinces, shocked at the open aggression of the Lyran Alliance call for unity. Of the major factions, Oriente stands behind this call, while Atreus demands that the unity be provided by the others acknowledging their position. Regulus merely ignores the issue and continues to put pressure on individual worlds near them to join them. One province however has had enough and at the end of August Zion announces it's secession from the Free Worlds League and demands that the FWLM leave it's borders.

Meanwhile Hohiro Kurita has arrived on Terra and is in deep discussions with the WOB leadership. It's fair to say they are delighted at the prospect of an anti-Davion alliance with the Combine and are already making promises of support...

Within the former Confederation the 1st Sian Dragoons leaves Sian and lands on the world of Pella II. The "defending" 2nd Sian Dragoons when faced with their larger sister regiment and with little desire to continue to suppress "rebels" defects to the Sian Republic. The 1st and 2nd Sian Dragoons swiftly bring order to the world which formally joins the Republic.

if the FS can have 6 months of peace.  they could then take on WoB.  They might need to take a page from history and looked at Rabaul Naval Base

And the Combine signs their death warrant with this action. Now they have to hope they can hold on to their territory when both the FedSuns and the Ghost Bears start their own invasions. Plus they will need to deal with the Nova Cats leaving them out to dry when that Clan decides to run and call in the favor from that other Clan they saved a few years back (it is almost like they knew this would happen).

The FWL while getting the perfect catalyst for reuniting still can't get it together. Plus they have to deal with the coming attack from the FesSuns since they are doing nothing about the warning Victor gave them to stop the rearming of a province that launched an unprovoked invasion of FedSun space.

The Lyrans still have done nothing to salvage the mess they have placed themselves in. They should be studying and refitting the Clan Warships in order to be able to build their own versions. They have the heaviest Corvette that really is more of a Destroyer at over 400,000 tons with the Vincent class. They don't have anything in the Destroyer and range so updating the Vincent to fill.that role is a smart move that way they don't need to buy Davion IIIs from the FedSuns. They also have the Aegis class for a new Cruiser as well. They still need a frigate class but they have a battlecruiser class in service that they should be building more of. They also have both the Black Lion Class, the Potemkin Class, and the Mckenna Class from the Wolves as well.

Honestly they don't need 6 months. The sheer amount of STUFF they are making these days and people they are training means they could start right now if they wanted. As I've said before, the key threat of the WOB is their warship fleet and ability to maintain it/construct it. Otherwise, they only control a handful of planets (and are pretty busy for that matter with the FWL chaos).

Hit Terra out of the blue like a sledgehammer with your warship fleets maximum strength (as much as you can pull together while leaving the Combine squadrons at their best possible strength) to rip through the WOBs warships, shipyards and orbital defenses. THEN invite ComStar in (they simply are too compromised by WOB-ROB to be let in and will get over their annoyance pretty quickly when they realize you've broken the WOB's naval power and laid out a red carpet right back to Terra) to do the hard ground fighting. It'll go even easier if Victor authorizes the use of Nuclear ordinance from the get-go, entirely justifiable given how the WOB has used it from day zero in every fleet engagement they have been in (including against the Federated Suns in a roundaway way with the Bulls fleet filled with WOB 'advisors').

Cripple the main strength of the WOB in Terra and invite ComStar to bring their own 1st fleet and ground armies (rebuilt over some time now with a LOT of state of the art Federated Suns hardware) then redeploy the Federated Suns fleet to leave a squadron at Terra, but the rest of fan out through the WOB Protectorate and jump any isolated WOB warships hanging around.

It's easy to overplan things with the WOB and think you need to build up a sledgehammer to do everything at once ... truth is, given their lack of strategic depth and current preoccupations, Victor could do just as well silently slipping a knife between their shoulder blades and killing them before they realize they are under attack.

And if MIIO or ComStar ROM gets word that the Combine is about to solidify an alliance between themselves and the WOB?

Well the Federated Suns would want to nip that in the bud NOW and ComStar would probably be even more keen, lest they loose the Combine as HPG clients (and destroying the WOB would also send a message to the Dragon in a subtle way saying '****** me? Oh no no no. A-****** YOU!' for trying to stab them in the back like that...

3069 - September - An Heir

Finishing up on Islamabad the First Prince hurriedly moved through the Crucis March towards New Avalon, arriving on the 10th via a line of command jumpships. While his staff would have preferred him to travel on board the FSS Melissa Davion during this trip the speed at which he had to move if he was to make all of his deadlines had made this impossible, so instead he had travelled on mostly Tramp LF battery equipped jumpships with warships holding guard positions along the route. Which in itself was a testament to the strength of the growing Federated Suns Navy in that it now had sufficient warships to patrol a route stretching from New Avalon-St Ives-New Syrtis-Islamabad-New Avalon.

The First Prince arrived just in time to welcome the birth of his heir who was born somewhat ahead of schedule on the 15th of September. The pregnancy took place at the Royal Maternity Unit of the Nimue General Hospital within Avalon City and goes without complications. To the waiting press and the general public the birth is announced in the early evening of the 15th and with it the name of their future First Prince - Burton Hanse Janos Davion. Almost riotous celebrations broke out across New Avalon and spread as fast as the word did throughout the Federated Suns. The only March that didn't see major celebrations was understandably the League March where outside of the garrison postings of AFFS units (and a few worlds with more pro-Davion sentiments such as Sheraton) the news was met with little reaction from the vast bulk of the population - although a few did hope that this new heir would help transfer the FedSun's to a more civilian footing and aid their integration. One particular world that was noted to see large scale celebrations that were unexpected was the strategic world of Tikonov where the planetary Duke announced a full 7 day celebration of the birth of Burton Davion and ordered fireworks, military parades and large scale donations of food and drink from his personal funds. He also dispatched a full company of assault weighted battlemechs produced on Tikonov (Atlas, Battlemaster, Zeus and Thug class war machines) to the long term garrisoning unit of Tikonov the Davion Assault Guards which were now stationed on nearby Helen as a gift to the young prince again paid for from his own accounts.

Even with the birth of a new Davion however the work of the state had to continue and by the 17th the First Prince was back at Mount Davion (albeit with a huge smile on his face) and working with his Marshal of Armies and Princes's Champion to best defend his son's future inheritance. The first issue he quickly dealt with was the proposed disbandment of several of the Borderer units with their components and personnel being used to help found other more generic units. He refused this proposal and explained to the High Command that in the past the FedSun's had faced invasion on numerous occasions and that invaders had often struck deep into Davion territory. Allowing these Borderer regiments to remain in existence not only gave the AFFS a ready reserve of seasoned troops that could be dispatched if required to the front lines they also provided a defence in depth that augmented the various March Militias. He pointed to the recent revision of the 1st Aragon Borderer's loyalty rating from Reliable to Fanatical in recent months and questioned whether the men and women of the unit would still feel the same if they were told their regiment was to be disbanded. He also pointed out that many of the men and women in the Borderer regiments had joined up with the intent of protecting their own homeworld for House Davion and would be loath to travel hundreds of light years away from it. The Borderer regiments were always available for wartime reassignment, but their troops always knew they would be returning home in short order and so were accepting of these assignments. With that matter dealt with the First Prince then began work on the rest of the day to day work of his position.

Amongst the well wishers who personally attended New Avalon to wish the new baby prince well was the Precentor Martial Anastasius Focht who after meeting with the mother and baby took some time to have a "work" meeting with Victor Davion himself. Present at this meeting was the future Prince's Champion Galen Cox and an old friend of Victor who he had promoted to general rank and reassigned from the 1st Revenant Guards - Renard Sanderlin. During this meeting the eviction of the WOB from Terra was the primary topic - although both sides also discussed the alarming reports that the Kurita's were considering a shift of alignment to support the WOB. The First Prince out of respect for his former mentor explained that while he was still committed to the invasion of Sol, he and his staff both agreed that the AFFS required time to repair and refit from the recent Capellan War and could not immedietly commit to another major offensive. Almost as importantly the Federated Sun's Navy would be an integral part of any invasion force and he had a number of major warships coming of the slips in the near future - and he would not rush them into combat with barely trained crews. He needed time to rebuild his forces and integrate the new construction into his Navy. The FSS Ran Felsner, FSS Aaron Sandoval and FSS Matilda Davion (all fleet carriers) were all finishing in October this year, however his advisers had informed him that they would not be ready for front line combat duties until probably mid 3070 with fully trained crews. Therefore he proposed meeting with the Precentor Martial again in March to discuss a definite date for the retaking of Terra. Focht, with orders to push for a date from Dow, made some token efforts to press for a more concrete answer, but privately and off the record agreed with the Davion position.

Thereafter the discussions turned to Kurita and what this would mean for the invasion and also for the ComGuard troops stationed within the Combine if the Kurita's joined the WOB. Victor promised the ComGuards every support in evacuating the Combine - up to the point of full scale war. While war with the Combine was growing more and more likely he didn't want to be the one to begin what would almost certainly be a repeat of the Succession Wars. Every month the FedSun's was getting stronger and the longer this war could be delayed the better from the Davion's perspective.

The First Prince also offered to help construct a new Davion-Com industrial facility on Marlette in the coming year to help supply and continue to rebuild the ComGuards. Focht left satisfied that the Davion's still stood with Comstar and with assurances of continued support - knowing that Gavin Dow would not see this as enough. Still he resolved to present his views to the entire First Circuit rather than merely the Primus-Pro-Term.

Having heard of the celebrations on Tikonov the First Prince sent word requesting that the Black Horse Squadron of the Wild Geese mercenary regiment make a short trip to Tikonov. While he refused to order the Colonel of the Squadron to meet with his grandfather while there he sent a personal message requesting he at least consider meeting with the Duke.

The First Prince also sent word to nearby Northwind that the losses suffered by the Highlanders in the recent fighting would be made good at cost from the AFFS's own equipment. They were to be allowed to purchase any design of battlemech, aerospace fighter or tank at their own discretion and he had passed stern orders that no attempt was to be made to implement a company store approach to the Highlanders. All equipment would be sold to them at cost and without any mark up or shipping cost. Given that the Northwind Hussars was the most damaged of the 4 regiments this offer would go a long way to mending fences between the Hussars and House Davion, as would the continued care that Colonel Jaffray was receiving on New Avalon for his injuries.

On Sarna Tengo Aerospace finished retooling 4 of their light aerospace lines to produce the upgraded Sabre variant they had purchased the license for. While at the same time their plant on St Ives also finished retooling 3 more lines to produce the Sabre. This would provide a flood of the capable light aerospace fighter for the forming League March troops. Indeed the League March would become the single March within the Federated Suns where the Sparrowhawk was not the most common light fighter design due to this large domestic source of Sabres (bolstered by 3 more Sabre lines at Tikonov), even with the new Jalastar plant on Wei being planned to have 4 Sparrowhawk lines. Indeed Sabre production within the League March would also lead to the March exporting Sabres to the rest of the FedSun's and also to Comstar and the Lyran Alliance.

It was also during September that the High Command began preparing to draw down companies of elite and veteran troops from various full strength units (to be replaced with less experienced troops to work up to the commands original levels) to bring the 2nd and 3rd Federated Sun's Armoured Cavalry back up to full strength. All 3 FSAC units had proven of valuable service in the recent war and there was even some discussion about adding at least 1 more regiment of these elite troops using the same method of forming them from the best of the AFFS - although bringing the heavily damaged 3rd and moderately damaged 2nd back up to full strength took precedence. While the 1st FSAC was slightly under strength this could be fixed through more regular rebuilding.

Within the Free Worlds League the various Parliaments and Captain Generals refused to acknowledge Zion Provinces secession and all of them made plans to crush this independence movement. However none dared risk sending orders to their reliable troops to suppress the revolt and as such it continued to grow in strength. The few FWLM garrison's within the province were by now almost totally isolated and almost under siege.

On Andurien Duke Baxter had managed to round up a minor member of House Humphreys and proceeded to marry this distant scion of the ruling house to his newely designated heir - Colonel Rhamses McCarron. Colonel Faith McCarron's response to the elevation of her brother to formal heir caused a major rift in the Baxter-McCarron family. At a time when it could be least afforded. Even this effort to mollify the Andurien loyalists failed miserably and the rushed wedding of Rhamses McCarron to his new bride was marred by no less than 3 bombings and 2 attempted assassinations using rifles. By now the "Andurien Commonality" was almost entirely a police state where Capellan troops kept order through massive reprisals whenever they were attacked. Worse the drawing down of forces from the proper "Capellan" worlds of the new Commonalty had to be ceased due to threats of invasion from the Sian Republic.

On Terra the Word of Blake promised the heir to the Draconis Combine no fewer than 10 battlemech regiments - when he had asked for 5. They even immedietly began to ship the first of these regiments of equipment to Deiron in their own hulls as a show of good faith. Factories long dormant upon Terra were now running at full speed and had been doing so now for years. Even with the constant losses in the fighting against Comstar the WOB had managed to amass huge stockpiles and they began to empty entire warehouses to ship to the DCMS. The Confederation had went down into defeat before the Davion giant more quickly than even the worst projections. The Free Worlds League was a splintered mess that instead of providing strength for the Blakists was almost a quagmire for any troops they dispatched into the chaos. The Lyran Alliance was a non-starter and the Federated Sun's was almost the devil. If any state was capable of being counter to the growing Davion threat it was the Combine. Yet the Combine was industrially coming up short - which is where the WOB was prepared to help...

looks like New Years is going to a mess.  I don't think the WoB is going to wait until mid year to kick the bee hive.  I wonder if the FS would approve one mech company to be raised on each planet.  if they put a medium weight mech co, heavy tank, company of long toms (anyone making these in the FS?) would give them a home guards core (paid by the FS central military).  this would only be done on planets that did not have "regular" unit stationed on it.  I would make sure any mech would have at least one hand, if not two.  that way they could be used in other than combat missions.

They are sending Ten Regiments of mechs to Derion the one world which the LA and FS watch like a hawk since it's a major garrison and C* probably has a major presence on the world most likely to. It as if the DC is asking to get pimp slapped.

Wouldn't it be funny if just as the equipment arrived on Dieron a pirate raid appeared and captured it all. >:D

So the WoB is going to start setting up factories in the Combine now. That is going to turn the Combine into even more of a pariah and a greater target for the Clans that surround them. With the worlds that the FedSuns have gained from the CC and the current build-up in progress, they are far too ahead for the WoB to change anything. With the Combine switching sides that means more forces from ComStar are going to be going to the FedSuns and maybe the Rump FRR in order to build those worlds up and if a war breaks out use it to claim some systems from the Combine in the guise of ComStar/WoB war battles. I have always had a soft spot for the smaller minor powers. With the St. Ives Compact gone it is the FRR that is left of the minor powers. Victor should really look into getting more of the minor powers to join his alliance in order to strengthen and build a greater future for humanity. The MoC is out but if he plays it right he can get the TC, Fronc Reach, Aurigian Coalition (if itis still around), better relations with the Outworlds Alliance/Raven Alliance.

I believe in canon it was Kitsune - the child he and Omi Kurita had. Jade was the 1st with Isis Marik though.

I don't think the WOB is setting up Factories so much as shipping war material to the Combine. I'm not a big fan of the idea that Terra has gigantic masses of super high tech factories that can outproduce entire star nations, but, that's Battletech. In any event, the WOB are probably increasingly finding that they are hurting for personnel right now. They didn't in this timeline get the second wave of defections from the ComGuards they got with Victor joining them and jumping to Precentor Martial like he did and thanks to the support of the Federated Suns, they have steadily rebuilt themselves and gotten a lot of recruits from across the Inner Sphere. Plus ComStar continuing to attack them rather than just sitting back. And the mess that is the FWL.

While the WOB by going hard and fast like they did have probably cut their new recruit streams heavily back as their true face is much more clear and their allies across the Inner Sphere have started to go silent now. So they are probably building significantly more equipment than they can actually use and so are very happy to throw equipment at either allies (or at least useful patsies) like the Combine who can proxy them against the Suns.

It will be hilarious however if ComStar find out about the shipments and intercept them and seize them for the ComGuards.

Personally, I think Victor is being far too cautious around attacking Terra and overstating the strain the AFFS has been under. There is frankly more to loose in waiting for his forces to build up than seizing the strategic initiative and surprise NOW to take the Word of Blake on the hop. Their actually controlled territory is minimal and you can lance the boil now much easier than you can if you just keep waiting...

But, I suppose the fic can't be TOO easy :)

As for the MOC, honestly, you'd think by now they would start to be getting a tad worried. They've been an open co-belligerent of the Taurians against the Federated Suns, the Capellan Confederation against the Federated Suns, complicit in the Big MACs pretty horrific occupation of Andurien by Baxter, a Federated Suns ally ...

Given that said Federated Suns has in a few short years turned the Bulls into their Bitch and the Crappies into a steadily dying memory ... and with the FWL far too busy to help them even if they wanted to, you'd think they MIGHT want to worry about how Victor will express his displeasure at them continually backing the 'wrong side' against him...

3069 - October - Planning for 3070

As per usual the plans for the continued expansion and upgrading of the AFFS (which never really stopped) stepped up a gear in October. Already there were myriad voices calling for this or that unit to be prioritised over another. Still with the First Prince once more personally on New Avalon to oversee the discussions the debates were quickly resolved. In most cases any disagreements were decided by the trio of the First Prince, Marshal of Armies and Princes's Champion. All three by now seasoned and veteran officers.

The first thing that was agreed that priority would continue to be given to rebuilding commands that had been damaged in the recent activities. As per the standing guidelines laid down shortly after the First Princes's return from the Clan Homeworld's the flow of replacements into units which were under strength would be managed to avoid swamping the veterans with new recruits and so reducing the overall rating of the regiment. For instance the 1st Kestrel Grenadiers were hovering around 60% of their listed strength due to casualties in the heavy fighting they had received - they would be allocated enough replacements to bring them up to 70% strength this year and a similar increase each year until they were once again at full strength. This would allow them to continue to remain at elite levels of experience as the new recruits would be brought up to the regimental level in training and combat missions. In many cases the replacement troops for elite units such as the Grenadiers would be drawn from other less experienced units (rated at veteran or regular level) and their replacements would in fact by the cadets.

One area this was definitely in use was the planned rebuilding of the Federated Suns Armoured Cavalry Brigade. Consisting of the finest troops, officers and equipment the FedSun's could produce this showcase unit had traditionally been rebuilt as soon as possible when it had suffered damage in the past. The expansion of the unit from a single regiment to 3 regiments in no way reduced the commitment of the High Command to arranging this. The 1st Argyle Lancers, 3rd Crucis Lancers, Davion Assault Guards, Davion Heavy Guards, 1st New Avalon Cavaliers and 6th Syrtis Fusiliers would all be tasked with giving up a company or so of mechwarriors and comparable numbers of conventional support troops to help rebuild the 3rd FSAC, while the 1st Capellan Dragoons, 42nd Avalon Hussars and the 6th and 8th Crucis Lancers would all give up a similar force to help rebuild the 2nd FSAC. Given the wish to form a 4th Federated Suns Armoured Cavalry the 1st and 2nd Ceti Hussars, 8th, 10th and 12th Deneb Light Cavalry, 2nd New Ivaarsen Chasseurs and 2nd Robinson Rangers would all be tasked with providing a portion of the new unit - allowing the formation of a veteran unit of around 70%. Given the location of most of these units within the Draconis March it was suggested that the new 4th be formed on Robinson itself, where it could take advantage of the Combat Training Centre and garrisoning units to hone it's skills and come together as a unit. All of the above units would see replacement personal make up their "donations" to the Federated Suns Armoured Cavalry.

Along with the personal required to begin making up the losses of the various AFFS units these deployments would consume the vast majority of the graduating class of '69. However enough troops and officers would remain to allow some small expansions. Namely the graduates of the Lexington Military Academy LCT's would be rushed to help rebuild the Lexington Combat Guards but enough graduating cadets would be left to form the core of a new 4th Ceti Hussars RCT. The initial plans were that this new Hussars wouldn't be anywhere near full strength, but the solid core of a RCT could be formed and begin training. However after some discussions it was agreed that the graduating cadets from the Tancredi War College LCT would also be allocated to this unit. This would allow it to form up at almost full strength.

The Islamabad CrMM would also be entirely reformed from graduating cadets as it's current incarnation became the 1st and 2nd Messengers of Shiva LCT's. At the same time the 2nd and 3rd Avalon Hussar's RCT's would break off a portion of their strength to form a 6th and 7th Avalon Borderer's LCT. An 8th Borderer's would also be assembled from odds and ends - a full company coming from the 1st Mitchel Reinforced Training Battalion for instance.

The Borderer Brigade would also see the activation of the 1st Bell Borderer and 1st Brockton Borderer Cadres. These 2 regiments would now be at around half strength and as such would be considered active combat commands. The remaining 1st Bromhead Borderer Cadre would be joined by the 1st Claxton, 1st Hurik, 1st Jasmine and 1st Preston Borderer Cadres - although the troops assigned to it wouldn't be coming from the newly established Training Battalions but instead a handful of AFFS officers and troops who would be used to form the bare skeleton of the units.

The Duke of New Syrtis was also pushing heavily for his agreement with the First Prince to be kept regarding the formation of the 1st Syrtis Hussars LCT as the basis for a new brigade and this was agreed. A number of graduating cadets from the 1st Warrior's Hall Training Regiment would be allocated to the 2nd Syrtis Hussars LCT.

For the second year no new Dragonlords RCT or Avalon Hussar's RCT is intended to be formed. However given the large scale expansion of the Avalon Hussars and the massive expansions after their initial founding of the Dragonlords it was agreed that the pause could continue. Assurances were given however that as soon as practicable these storied brigades would see additional regiments added to their rolls. The First Prince also privately spoke with Marshal Venger of the FedSun's Dragoons Brigade that his units sterling service in the recent campaign would not go unnoticed or unrewarded. He intended to add additional Dragoon's units in the near future - at the very least returning them to the strength they had enjoyed in their previous incarnation the FedCom Corp.

However the planned expansions of the Regular Army were almost totally overshadowed in October with the commissioning of not 1 but 3 huge New Syrtis class carriers into the Federated Suns Navy. At Galax the FSS Ran Felsner slipped from the yards and immedietly began making it's way on a shakedown cruise to the Novaya Zemlya system. Her place was to be taken by the FSS Kai Allard-Liao which was to be named for the fallen hero of the St Ives Military Command - which had been absorbed into the AFFS and so Duke Allard-Liao was considered (along with his military service during the FedCom era) to fulfil the criteria of being a serving AFFS officer to have a carrier named for him.

The FSS Ran Felsner was to be joined at Novaya Zemlya by the FSS Aaron Sandoval fresh from Kathil's McKenna Shipyards and by the FSS Matilda Davion which had completed at Challenge System's Panpour yards. Both ships were named for heroic military leaders of the AFFS. Kathil immedietly laid down the FSS Peter Davion, named for the famed Marshal of Armies who had led the AFFS during the horrors of the First and Second Succession Wars, while Panpour laid down the FSS John Gordon named for the officer who had saved First Prince Alexander Davion in the Davion Civil War and had fought and died for his prince.

The 2nd, 3rd and 4th Carrier Battle Groups would begin working up and training their crews and aerospace fighter wings in the secure system of Novaya Zemlya. They were protected there not only by their own fighters but also the destroyers of the 1st Destroyer Squadron. Not only had the 1st Destroyer Squadron been chosen due to it's battle hardened crews and heavy guns, but also it was intended that the Carrier Battle Groups would each consist of not only a New Syrtis Carrier but also at least 2 Davion III destroyers to escort them so it was considered a good idea to have the carriers begin training with the destroyers.

Alongside the commissioning of these huge capital ships the 4 Fox I corvettes undergoing refits and upgrades to Fox II which had completed at the end of September returned to active service as the 2nd Division of the 2nd Corvette Flotilla. Their places were taken in the repair and refit yards by the 2nd Corvette Flotilla's 1st Division. When these completed in March of 3070 that would mean all 12 corvettes of the 2nd Flotilla would be upgraded to the new standard.

The First Prince also announced the construction on Marlette of the new Davion-Com industrial complex. Similar to the factory on Defiance this facility was to see it's production divided up between Comstar and the AFFS. With growing concern for their supply lines within the Draconis Combine Comstar was eager to put additional designs into production at safe locations. The flagship battlemech for this new facility was the Inner Sphere omnimech version of the Battle Cobra. Comstar also wished the facility to produce the Spartan class assault battlemech and the Shootist class heavy battlemech. A similar battle armour facility to Defiance was also planned to increase production of the Lorica. As well as these Comstar provided designs the FedSun's also included Griffin and Phoenix Hawk class medium battlemech designs to be put into production there. Construction would begin within the next few months. All of the designs except the Lorica BA are to be divided equally, with Comstar getting all of the BA.

At the same time Comstar also funded Andoran Industries to add an additional Hussar and Mercury line to their Shawnee based plant. Andoran was now one of the largest supplies of light battlemech's to the ComGuards from their 2 facilities on Shawnee and Broken Wheel.

Veridan Dynamics announced a New Avalon backed plan to open a new facility to produce not only Tiger second line tanks but also the much sought after Vali artillery tank within the League March. After a great deal of consideration they had opted to place the new facility on Sarna for a central location. Initial plans were for 2 Tiger lines and a single Vali line. The ComGuards and Lyran Alliance again both expressed an interest in the Vali with this announcement.

Within the shattered Free Worlds League the Atreus based Captain-General Corrine Marik begins plans for a major military operation to retake the lost worlds along the Lyran border. She begins to secretly move commands loyal to her government to the worlds of Zortman and Castor. With what few warships she can spare from ongoing deployments. She ignores the other League Captain-Generals for the time being, not even requesting the support of the Oriente troops near Tamarind that might fight alongside her forces to expel the LAAF. Her attempts to keep these movement's secret are helped by her unofficial alliance with the WOB Protectorate.

On Elgin the Tikonov Marshals are declared officially active - although unofficially they are barely at garrison level quality and consists mostly of various militia forces from across the province which have been drafted into the Marshals. Although officially at 3 full battalions and a command company they consist of only the command company, a 2 company strong 1st Battalion and a single company in each of the other 2 battalions. They are entirely lacking in aerospace assets, dropships and artillery although they do have roughly a regiment's worth of mixed infantry and armour of low quality to support them.

Within the Andurien Commonality Duke Baxter announces the formation of 3 new commands - the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Andurien Hussars, echoing back to the old Commonality troops of Andurien. These are officially drawn from native's of the various Andurien worlds and are destined to be the regular armed forces of his regime - complete with battlemech regiments. However currently they are little more than glorified motorised infantry and are almost entirely drawn from the few Capellan worlds he has managed to bring under his banner - indeed in the case of the 3rd they are largely conscripts from the prison's of Andarmax, Sax and Sigma Mare. He has however begun work on setting up a full battlemech production facility on Betelgeuse. This is intended to produce Firebee class light battlemechs and Vindicator medium battlemechs. Plans for more ambitious schemes are only paper exercises at this point.

At the same time the Victoria Commonality announces that they are reforming the 2nd Victoria Rangers - entirely from imported battlemechs provided to them by unknown third parties although many seem to have been built either in the League or Canopus. This announcement leads the still shattered 1st Capellan Chargers to go into open mutiny as they feel they are being ignored. Given their posting on Wright - which is at the border between the Sian Republic and Federated Suns and the Victoria Commonality the response from the Government-in-Exile on Gunthar is swift and savage. The 1st Victoria Rangers is dispatched from Latice with orders to destroy the rebelling unit. Alongside them comes 2 companies of Taurian exiles which are all that remain of the 1st MacLeod's Regiment. In a pitched battle the 1st Victoria Rangers and the Taurians overpower the more experienced Chargers with numbers and destroy the regiment - executing the few prisoners. In return for joining the Victoria Commonality full time MacLeod's Regiment is allowed to salvage roughly a company of the 1st Chargers equipment and their "leader" Protector Grover Shraplen given a place within the Government-in-Exile.

Archon Peter Steiner announces a new trade arrangement with Comstar and that the facilities on Arc Royal will now be expanded to produce a wide variety of battlemech's for the ComGuards. While the move is popular on Arc Royal more than a few of the Archon's detractors point out that he is again playing the part of a "poor man's Victor"...

Within the Draconis Combine the leadership of the Black Dragons agree to send an emissary to meet with the Coordinator on Luthien. Theodore Kurita has already met with his Nova Cat vassals and informed them that he requires them to dispatch 3 out of their 4 front line galaxies and at least 2 galaxies of second line troops to the Davion border. Along with the Vision Naval Star and Transcendent Naval Star. The Mystic Naval Star and the remaining ground forces are to hold themselves in reserve within the Clan's reservations within the Irece Prefecture. In return he does offer them the concession of 2 cluster's worth of second line battlemechs (1 of the 10 regiments he has been promised via his son from the WOB).

Anyone else hope that the Nova Cats have seen EXACTLY which way this will all go? And have no desire to be Theodores disposable shock troops or DCMS ablative armour?

And so they pull a bulldog, with a Suns Jaguars rep showing up to flip a coin, they call 'edge' and bang, they are all Sun Jaguars now and obey at once Victors orders to leave the Combine with everything and everyone and set up on in the League March or something near Terra?  :D

I call you by your true name: Scum of the Star League, traitors of free will, persecutors of the Periphery come back to lord it over freedom-loving people. Come ahead, you steel-eyed robots! Come ahead and taste what a million like-minded people think of you and your damn Clans!"

And how many warships the Nova Cats have right now ?
If is a decent group / touman that is going to be a good help for Victor and a major disaster for the Combine.
