Any sign of new fighters
« on: 29 July 2011, 06:50:47 »
Know this has probably been asked but is there any chance we'll see some of the remaining Mech Scale fighters sometime, specifically the Huscarl and some of the old SLDF stuff like the Hellcat II???? I have some holes in my TO&E that need filling.

it sucks, but from what i've seen if the community wants fighters, we'll have to fund them ourselves (this seems to be the case with warships as well). i'm with you though, there are a bunch of second line clan fighters and the 2750 star league fighter that i would absolutely love to have in mech scale.

on the bright side however, we are getting the zero, ironsides and hammerhead at some point, last i heard they were at IWM, they just haven't been slotted into the schedule yet

While others worship the BattleMech as the ultimate weapon, the men and women of this Clan see even this awesome piece of technology as the tool it is. We have held to this philosophy since the days of our first Khan, who knew that the value of the common soldier far outstripped the brute force of the BattleMech. It is one reason our Clan possesses fewer mechs than most, and has led many to underestimate our fierceness and courage. Our survival against all challengers when others have fallen proves the folly of such arrogance, and testifies to the wisdom of our founders."

Sweet, I'm actually looking for a couple of Hammerheads and Ironsides for my Comguard unit (Hammerheads are the best bombers you can get for the IS IMHO) Meantime I suppose I'll just have to concentrate on filling out my Snow Ravens.

(Sigh) That will probably take a while anyway.

"Any sign of new fighters?"

I saw a group of them the other day, but they got taken out pretty quickly by a wandering pack of Gnolls. It wasn't pretty.  #P

I am really looking forward to the Ironsides, Hammerhead and Zero! fighters are a huge part of my doctrine!

I was always amused by the Zero for an AeroSpace Fighter.  Did you know Mitsubishi made them during World War II?   ;D

Sadly there don't seem to be too many interested in that.
97Jedi & I funded the last batch of SLDF mech-scale fighters (Lightning, T-bird & Eagle)
There weren't many others who wanted to chip in.
(And a couple who expressed interest later bailed  ??? )

it's bad that it's a facet of the game that doesn't seem to be pursued much in the form of money. heck, even if you don't play aerotech or use fighters in your games, they tend to make some of the nicest and coolest minis you can get. the same goes for warships

this, and i also have an issue with the fact that the davion will never be made because it already has a ship that looks similar etc.

You assume that nobody will try to fan-fund either ship...

never is a strong word, but i don't think i've seen a single 'help me fund this warship' thread since joining the forum. not to say it won't happen, but i'm not really holding my breath unfortunately  :'(

if i had the money i would love to but i don't, i couldn't even contribute to one now

That's my problem too, and possibly the same with many other WarShip fans. Trust me, as soon as I rediscover the concept of disposable income, I will be putting some towards a Conqueror, and then a Davion II.

He may have Reproduced it to sell there.  It's a shame that he's done that in the past to finance the sculpting of some Aeropace minis.   :P

If that is going to happen, let me know and I will see what I can do to put in some cash for that project.
