As reported here http://bg.battletech.com/forums/general-discussion/new-and-upcoming-releases/msg977270/#msg977270

I have had the same problem with this thread http://bg.battletech.com/forums/challenges-and-gatherings/battletech-in-australia-who-and-where-are-you-all/.

Noting the previous topic here about "Changes to the forum thread naming", I assume that this might be linked ie the notify function was tied to old thread naming convention with the numbers and thus with the change to the thread naming it is not working with the new thread names. I do note that when I go in the "Battletech in Australia . . ." thread it still shows me that I have the Notify option activated.

Hi Feenix,

We're looking into the cause of the notification error, but it is not related to the forum's new Pretty URLs. As soon as we've diagnosed and fixed the problem, we will let you know. If anything else pops up, or you're able to screenshot the error and post it here, it would be appreciated.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

G'day Knighmare,

Thanks for the prompt response. Unfortunately, I do not get an actual error message that I can screenshot.  I have simply noticed that I no longer receive the notification email that I would normally receive when a new reply is posted to the thread. I first noticed this over the weekend 18-19 Oct. I have tried "Notifying" a new thread that I have not previously notified before (I tried the "New and Upcoming Release" thread from the General Discussion forum) but have not received any notifications emails for that thread either. I have checked the junk mail folder of my email inbox and there are no notification emails there (just in case they have been classed as spam by my email filter).

Hi Feenix74,

We've diagnosed the problem—an error with the forum's mail settings—and fixed it. I've tested the forum's notification feature, and you should be receiving all forum email notifications without further delay.

I'll continue to monitor the forum's email accounts for the time being, but please let us know if you have any more problems.

Thank you.

G'day Knightmare,

Just checked my email inbox and the notification emails are flowing again.

Cheers and thanks for promptly fixing the issue.

Knightmare, thank you! To be honest, I didn't even realize there was a "Website and Forum Support" thread until Feenix74 posted a link!

Thank you to you both!

2014-11-07 - Notify emails have gone strange again, they now point to my profile without the notification string!

Seems like it has stopped once more.

Hello Knightmare,

I have yet to receive an email notification on any of the topics after clicking on the notify button since I rejoined the forums on 11/02/15. Apparently the web gremlins have decided to keep me in the dark.

I received a PM today, but no e-mail notification as usual.  This could be an indication of a wider problem with the notify function.

Doubly weird... I just received another PM, and the normal e-mail notification came in as usual.  Did I just happen to catch you in the process of fixing it?

I also haven't received any email notifications for at least a week now.

I just got an email about a Topic Reply. So either I was lucky or it is working again.
