Background - Originally developed by the Jovian Empire of Terra to provide additional somewhat mobile protection during their intermittent civil wars. The Pazuzu was originally just an environmentally sealed version refit of Partisan tanks by the Imperial Armory on Ganymede using salvaged Locust engines to free up enough space for the additional life support systems. In the 29th Century however COMSTAR began producing Warships again and wanted an option for additional hull defense rather than spend extra mass on fire control.
A battalion of these Pazuzu's were purchased and assigned to the Faslane CS Terra and performed well enough that COMSTAR purchased the license to the design in return for material support to the Jovian Imperial Authority. License in hand the COMGuards added robotic control systems to the design in order to reduce the significant manpower demand for something that seemed highly improbable (swarming Aerospace Fighter attacks on one of their ships) as the sustainment of another 288 personnel would be a serious drain on their long endurance star-craft.
