Bomb scaling evolution
« on: 27 November 2015, 16:58:49 »
I know at some point the granularity of bombs got lowered to where fighters can now carry 1, 2, or 3 bombs.

The Space Bombing rules in ASC still use the old scale.  For example, an anti-ship missile is the equivalent of 6 bombs.  I don't see an erratum on that yet and I don't recall how to translate the old scale to new.

How many "modern" bomb slots are 5 and 6 slots, respectively?

The only change was that fighters no longer got the "+1" to their Size for number of BOMB.
It was Light = 2, Medium = 3, Heavy = 4.  Now it's Light=1, Medium=2, Heavy =3.
EDIT: That change was made in the Alpha Strike Companion.

Well, something definitely needs to be errata'd in the ASC then.  On page 85 it talks about anti-ship missiles counting as 6 bombs, and also gives an example of a fighter carrying two of them.
