« on: 06 March 2017, 13:11:20 »
March 4 - Gryphcon – Battletech Total Warfare (3067 – Clan vs Inner Sphere) – 5 players

Surgical Strike on Drop Port Dover

March 4, 2067 on the bread basket world of Guelph on the border regions with the Clans a surgical strike occurred to eliminate the ground to air/space capabilities of the region surrounding the Drop Port of Dover in preparation for Clan incursion on the planet.

Objective Clan:
Major Victory – Eliminate Command Bunker, Radar Installation, Ground to Space Missile Bunker.
Minor Victory – Eliminate 2 of the three objectives
Secondary Objectives - Preserve combat effectiveness of Star (50%+ mechs combat ineffective)
Secondary Objectives – Weaken Inner Sphere combat effectiveness (50%+ mechs  combat ineffective)

Objective Inner Sphere:
Major Victory – Defend all three objectives
Minor Victory – Defend 2 of the three objectives
Secondary Objectives - Preserve combat effectiveness of Star (50%+ mechs combat ineffective)
Secondary Objectives – Weaken Inner Sphere combat effectiveness (50%+ mechs combat ineffective)

Objectives:  Command Bunker, Radar Installation, Ground to Space Missile Bunker
-   All objectives were had 50 DC
-   All objectives were dug in so a unit needed to be in the hex beside it or on top of it to have a reasonable chance of affecting it in any way (ie to do damage to it)
FORCES:
Clan Ghost Bear (pilots were all 3/4)
-   Kodiak
-   Mad Cat Prime
-   Vulture Prime
-   Ryoken Prime
-   Black Hawk S
-   Dragonfly Prime
Inner Sphere Davion Deneb Light Cavalry (pilots were all 4/5)
-   Berserker BRZ-C3 (linked to Gunslinger)
-   Gunslinger GUN-2ERD (linked to Berserker)
-   Templar TLR1-O Prime
-   Falconer FLC-8R
-   Marauder MAD-5M
-   Thunderblt TDR-10SE
-   Enforcer III  ENF-6F
-   Nightsky NGS-6T

Deployment – Clan Deploys Heavily on left flank which is countered by Inner Sphere forces.
Turn 1 – Clan moves up, Inner Sphere repositions to counter Clan thrust up left flank.  Minimal shooting.
Turn 2 – Inner Sphere Breaks Cover and engages Clan forces.  Clan forces focus fire on Marauder but fail to bring it down.  Flaconer repositions but while running spots a Ryoken breaking towards to right flank through thick forest.  Without breaking stride it eliminates to Ryoken with a head shot (just fires the Guass Rifle, needing 12s, roles 12 to hit then 12 for location).
Turn 3 – Inner Sphere envelopes Clan left flank causing disarray.  Inner Sphere focus fires on Kodiak, maiming it but not without repercussions.  Vulture stays on mission and focus fires on Radar Installation, destroying it.
Turn 4 – Kodiak is taken down and Mad Cat is forced to do a tactical withdrawal as left flank is overrun by Inner Sphere forces.  Vulture is ravaged, but still functional, by Flaconer.  Marauder is kneecapped.  Dragonfly threatens Command Bunker objective.
Turn 5 – Vulture is force to maneuver to avoid overkill behind Innersphere line but overheats in process of trying to take out Falconer from behind.  Dragonfly threatens Ground to Air/Space Battery.
Turn 6 – Gunslinger headcaps Mad Cat.  Vulture (shutdown) is eliminated by kick from Gunslinger.  Black Hawk jumps in and eliminates Ground to Air/Space Battery.  Dragonfly jumps and eliminates Command Bunker with vicious stomp.
Game called:
Clan - Major Victory but lost 2 secondary objective (only Dragonfly and Blackhawk remain combat effective)
Inner Sphere – Defeat but attained 2 secondary objective (only Marauder was made combat ineffective)

Fun was had by all.
