Shadow Cat III Prime (Dark Age)

what is this?

Shadow Cat III seems like a mistake. There's Shadow Cat the OmniMech, and Shadow Cat II which is a standard 'Mech.
I assume that's meant to be the Shadow Cat OmniMech in its Dark Age styling?

EDIT I suppose III might be there for sake of differentiation. And/or there's Shadow Cat III in-universe, that is functionally identical to the Shadow Cat but differs aesthetically, as happens with the Vulture and Vulture mkII.

The III is the MWDA looking Shadow Cat mini. Weapon placement is different so there are stats for it and art. That is the simplest explanation.

Just got my first look at the new Emperor 1A sculpt. Guys, really. I'm spending enough on the Kickstarter and now you bring that beauty out.

That picture has a very Avalanche/Wendigo kinda feel, with a little bit of Vandal to it. Of course, I think those all originally came from the Clickytech era, so I guess that isn't a surprise. I'm not averse to a nice, new ShadowCat though.

I guess the idea was that the Shadow Cat was a Nova Cat mech, and then they used it as the basis for the later DCMS Avalanche and Nova Cat Wendigo, similarly to how you can see Mercury -> Mercury II -> Coyotl or Adder -> Cougar based on their shared parts?

Wizkids also reused a lot of 3d assets between designs.  For example, pretty sure the Wendigo and Avalanche both have that same right arm.

Pretty much what Brent said when he suggested the mech.

Agreed! I consistently really dig the primitive style mechs. The chunky slab like look is very imposing

Has the Scourge hit distribution yet?  If so I need to hit up my FLGS since they order directly from you guys now . . . have to also see if they have a prim Emperor still, those have been going pretty frequently.

No...releases have been pushed back to the week of October 7th...so they should hit shortly after that.
