In another thread I got inspired and realized that maybe it is more effective for Siege/Monitor Tanks to use an Assault Vehicle with Trailer, than to use a Super-Heavy Vehicle.
Advantages:
- Lower total structure weight
- Can be split into a Turret and 'faster' Tank
- Free 10 heatsinks
- Existing factories can produce it.
- Existing transports can handle it.
- Cheaper
- more?
Downsides:
- Requires careful consideration on how to divide the weapons between tank and trailer.
- More tonnage required for controls, minimal reactor (10 rated), armor (two more facings)
- Weapons mounted on the rear of the Tank and front of the Trailer can rarely be used.
- Very heavy turrets become impossible on the front tank without either lowering armor or using lighter engines (XXL).
- more?
Lets take the Gulltoppr Prime apart for comparison.

Even with the added inefficiencies I gained 7 free tons, which I then spend on infantry space, but could also be used for other improvements.

ps. Ironically this would work very well with the Society: a Nova CEWS network consisting out of a Tank, Trailer, and Spotter.
