You save up until you've got 24, then take them to Battalion game supported by some Narc users, watch the enemy weep.

I wonder if there'll be an option for "wait till all the lance/star packs are available then ship all at once."

That might be a lot cheaper in postage for people outside the US than getting each one in a separate shipment

I was thinking the same. If it's easier for CGL to just ship everything in one go, I am more than willing to wait. But whatever is easiest and cheapest for them.

Pretty sure they've said that this is what will happen because of how shipping costs are calculated.

19 Catapults.

What the heck are you trying to do with 19 Catapult, remove the map reference?  ;D

Indeed! A case of

"Captain."
"Yes Sir?"
"Do you see those enemies over there?"
"I do sir."
"I don't want to."
"Understood Sir."

Everything not tagged as an exclusive will be available by some method after the Kickstarter, though CGL have not made specific statements as to how and when.

Yes - but the concern is for the past several years, "available" has meant "2 weeks on the CGL store, then 2 years of extortionate prices on ebay"

I got the impression that CGL has seen this problem and the Kickstarter may be a major milestone towards adressing it, by gearing towards economy of scale. Once the initial costs are covered, the core boxed sets and the plastic miniatures will (hopefully) be cheap and easy to mass-produce and restock.

I assume even after the 18th we'll be able to order stuff on the page or is it then a case of 'its done!' and then waiting for 'em to be in stock etc.

We can certainly HOPE so, but I think recent experiences are still too recent to fully expunge.
CGL has to make a profit, and books have to go out of print sometime, but their print runs in recent years appear to have been anaemic to the point that the game wasn't available at all. Ni product means no exposure, no growth - and personally, I have to wonder how much of the "failure" of products such as the Hex Packs to sell was due to the death of availability/visibility of the main game.

Right now, I am at the point of considering what add-ons to buy

But there are an increasing amount of exclusive add-ons such as challenge coins - and that is even leaving out factions such as ComStar, the FRR, WOB and the FedCom.
So - do I buy the exclusives and take a chance the maps and models will be available later? Or do I buy what I really want, hoping the rest will somehow be available later?
More, if I decide to budget and buy the earlier packs as they'll be available sooner, will CGL see that as a lack of support for the later packs, with correspondingly smaller print runs? Do I support CGL by buying now, or is it better buying later through my LGS?

Minor problems of course, but still a concern

And is that better or worse than "only available if you happen to have backed the Kickstarter and have the cash during the Pledge Manager window"?

Catapults are simply very common mechs in a lot of packs, collections offered on Ebay or garage sales etc. I re-started playing and my collection less than three years ago and own six or so. Plus, it's actually one of the best chassis in the game: offering good to excellent variants in every era.

Also: The SLDF fought with companies and battalions of identical chassis (sometimes even variants). Why not be able to field a full company of Catapults?

Looks like things are starting to setting in the post opening rush. The 900k stretch goal should be reached sometime later today (WD, KH swag, premium pilot card deck w/ character pictures). After that it’s going to probably be the rest of the week to get to the second community lance/star, no?

Barring a gencon bubble, it will be a slow climb to 1m where we might see the post-million goals before the final blitz. Looks like the final landing spot will be somewhere above robotech tactics and BELOW the HBS game (edit: missed word made it sound like I thought the ks would do better than the PC game, which is silly)

Hopefully we’ll get some updates today clarifying a few things

Everybody go take a nap and we’ll see you in August  :))

The HBS Game earned over 2 million:

Yeah but that Kickstarter had much higher numbers across the board:

The pledge levels were a lot lower in order to get the base game so the comparison is a bit iffy. The HBS KS was generating about $67 a backer. Currently the Clan Invasion KS is generating (at the time of my writing) $200 per backer. My HBS pledge was a quarter of my current Clan Invasion pledge and I will be adding more at the end of the campaign.

See Sartis's response to my point.

he left a wrod out which made it sound like he was saying the BT KS would make more than the HBS kickstarter.

Don;t matter if 2 people back at $1.25 Million each, or 254 million people back at $1 each. At the end of the day, the amount of money raised is the most important aspect.

As I think everyone has seen, the process of packaging and distributing pledges to people can be a nightmare so lots of high value pledges are probably easier to deal with than a lot of small ones. HBS also had a lot of digital delivery and very little physical delivery so again their numbers are going to present a different set of issues.

The urbanmech has community meme value so it’s automatically going to be a popular addition
