(Answered) Kicking Infantry

Dumb Question time.

For Kicking/Stomping infantry, the rules for Kicking on page 147 state first and foremost:

Quote
See Modified To-Hit Number, p. 144, to determine the target number for a kick attack.

Page 144 states a Kick receives a -2 Modifier to the kick attack.

Back to page 147, the rules then state:

Quote
Infantry: A ’Mech may kick or stomp an infantry unit in the hex it occupies; apply a +3 to-hit modifier for such an attack.

So, my Question, Assuming a Mech (Pilot Skill 5) Jumped into a  Wood Hex with Infantry, and is now ready to attack said infantry with a Kick/Stomp, is the calculated to hit number:

5 (Pilot Skill) +3 (Jump) -2 (Kick) +3 (Infantry) +1 (woods) =  (5+3) - 2 + (3 + 1) = (8 - 2) + 4 = 10

or

5 (Pilot Skill) +3 (Jump) +3 (Infantry) +1 (woods) =  5 + 3 + 3 + 1 = 12

I'm thinking its the first, but just want to make sure.

You apply both the -2 and the +3.  The infantry situation (+3) is a subset of the standard kick situation (-2); it doesn't replace it.

cool...it's what I thought, it was the STOMP part that made it iffy.
