Abigail (2024) The sneak preview pretty much spoiled the whole movie (what is it with previews spoiling everything these days?), so I didnt have high hopes for this (I only watched it because I ran out of stuff on my streaming queue), but it turned out slightly better than expected. The story is about a bunch of rogues who set out to kidnap a young girl, but soon have the tables turned on them is pretty formulaic, but there were enough twists in it to hold my attention, even though it does drag a bit. In the end, its not bad- for the genre. Plenty of gore. Rating 6/10
The Dead Don't Hurt (2024) I love westerns, and since this was a Viggo Mortensen directed movie I was looking forward to seeing it, but it came out as disappointing. It's about a headstrong woman who meets her soulmate in the Wild West, while being menaced by the evil son of a rich man in town. The whole movie is way too long and the constant flashbacks proved irritating. The ending was unsatisfying, and a little too artsy-fartsy. Rating 4/10
