How are you guys playing out this story?  The entries in the story reminds me of that old Fox Show 24.

Outline of the Mark V Landing Craft:
200 tons, 3/5 (39 ton engine), 1.5 tons of controls, 12.5 tons of fuel (0.25 tons of pumps), 13.5 tons of Armor, VSTOL gear (10 tons), 4 Medium Lasers/2 Small Lasers (all weapons removed), 14 heat sinks (all free in the engine)
Light Vehicle Bay, Foot Infantry Bay, Paramedic, 20 tons of crew Quarters, 14 tons of consumables, 10 tons of other cargo
36 "Bay" racks, 4 Steerage Quarters
Landing Gear destroyed, resting on jack stands in its hangar.

De-fueled and empty, it comes in at 103.5 tons.  Stripping the armor off could get it down to 90, but Master Truck and Sergeant Blu don't think it's worth the effort.  They're confident they can get it moved without going that far.

How sweet.. "Uncle" Ludak misses young miss Athena

Honestly I understand that.. I have a # of kids that I am an "Uncle" to..

So if we load that Mark V Landing Craft on the recovery vehicle, can we move it.  If we strap it down?
Or are we going to escort it with hands to support it?

You'll definitely be escorting it, but you shouldn't need to put hands on it unless it falls off...  ^-^

(Wrangler's hidden Astech eccentric character uses a hydrologic jack and lift the Mark V landing craft up and mount it on SLDF military off-road chassis making it into a off-road vehicle to resolve the issue.)

All set, boss! (Wrangler's Astech wander off trying to "fix" something else.)

So, Renzi will know they've salvaged a Landing Craft.  He doesn't know where they got it from, but given it lost its landing gear (which can be seen), he'll assume they pulled it out of the sand somewhere.  Skinner's crew shouldn't have to work too hard to come up with a cover story that will hold.

(re-posted from story thread)

Been re-reading this tale from the start.

I must admit that I was really skeptical because some updates are quite short, IMO: nevertheless the tale flows well reading fluidly.

(goes baiting crow for dinner ...)

As to the story: Renzi's scouts saw the main door open as I have understood it ... so they know OLF's location now.

Reinforcing that is that there are salt flats and salt flats - even the driest one will show tracks ... especially if the same route is taken every day.

I'm hoping what they saw was the poor condition Landing Craft in motion and not the base.
