Possible Challenge: Urbie IIC a Proto.
« on: 08 August 2024, 00:22:07 »
How close can we get to the Urbie IIC, but either as a standard 1-9 ton Proto, and/or in the 10-15 ton Ultraheavy categories?

Obviously I'm expecting either 9t or 15t slots to dominate, but feel free to squeeze things into something smaller.

Just that it has to look like a very tiny, but very angry, trashcan.
I love my Wiesel XII. Yes, yes I do.

Don't have my books with me, but I think a 5-ton proto with 3/5/3 movement could mount an APGR plus an ERSL (or maybe just a MiPL).

The big problem is that the smallest ballistic weapon above the APGR is the PAC/2 at 3.5 tons...

Annnnnnd....
*fiddles with MegaMek*

You'd be totally correct. APGauss w/ 21 shots + ERSL, maxed armor, 3/5/3, hits perfectly at 5t.

That's actually quite a nasty little trashcan, so long as you play defensive and have good cover, although I'd cringe at having to use it in open terrain.

Why would you use an UrbanProtoMech in open terrain...?

Heck, would it even be a Proto-Urbie if it was good in open terrain?!?

Yeah. It wasn't supposed to be running on the open terrain in the first place.

Yeah. It wasn't supposed to be running on the open terrain in the first place.
Lets just say when I play BT, some of the players are capable of 'Hold my beer (literally), and watch this' level of shenanigans they'll want to try to pull off a win with.

Including Urbies in open terrain.
To be fair, the one that used a HAG20 actually was being a right pain the rear.

As for this, well, while open terrain is still out, I can imagine any amount of heavy forest suddenly developing a case of the trees speaking Orguss.
