Anyone make a Trebuchet-k ppc/ac5 mini?
« on: 23 January 2025, 17:56:05 »
Despite being included in the very first TRO 3025 I have never seen someone make this.  Is it just that it has no demand?  Many one of a kind mechs are made. Even a Urbanmech LAM, but not this?

I mean IWM or licensed creators.  Do not reply if you personally print them.  Has IWM or ral Partha, or CGL, ever done this?

I thought it was done as one of the minis for the sword and dragon Kurita pack?
Epitaph on an Army of Mercenaries

These, in the day when heaven was falling,      Their shoulders held the sky suspended;
The hour when earth's foundations fled,         They stood, and earth's foundations stay;
Followed their mercenary calling,               What God abandoned, these defended,
And took their wages, and are dead.             And saved the sum of things for pay.

I’m not sure.  I thought it was a trebuchet model which was standard.  The K variant wouldn’t have arm missiles, chest missiles, or arm lasers, plus two large torso mounted weapons. It would look drastically different.
It’s been so long since I saw that pack, though, I can’t remember.

Several of us kitbashers have done so for our collections.  I have a really old one made out of the original metal release and been thinking about updating it with the new plastic.  But it has been done.

Alas, 'twas not to be. That had a Dragon, Hatamoto-Chi, Jenner, and Hunchback.

But it's just such a WEIRD variant... it's so unlike the other versions of the Mech that it really deserves some miniature form, the same way the Kurita Catapult (Kuritapult?) got. When the basics change THAT much, we need that on the shelves!

I kitbashed one too - the old Alpha Strike pack plastic was much easier to mod than metal, and it was more spindly than the new plastic one. Got to do the one with the chain whip sometime - I reckon Luciora may have already done it.

Exactly. We have variants for obscure ones that don’t change the profile much, newer variants, less extensive ones, but not this original, drastically different one which changes both the profile and the tactical use drastically.

For the record, found a pic of my attempt.

That is pretty darn cool! Whyphandler is onto something; we need a new sculpt of this variant. It’s very similar to the Kurita-pult. Would have been a cool “drastic variant” forcepack” to have one of these, a Kurita-pult, and two other similar visually drastically altered variants. Just thinking of 3025ish, and going with a one of each weight class theme, you could do the Fire Javelin, Trebuchet-2K, Kurita-pult, and the Awesome or Battlemaster variants with the LRMs.

I thought the LRM Awesome had a mini?  Maybe it was only a mod...

I’m sorry, I’m a plastic only guy; I forget about the metal stuff.
