I'll go for rule of cool, I thought the laser cluster would look unusual and different on a small 'Mech so that's what we went with :)

Personally I somewhat disagree with the argument against clustering the primary firepower in the one limb. Losing that limb leaves the warrior no reason to stay in the fight and goes a long way to preserve the unit for future engagements.

Ultimately a difference in viewpoint between campaign play and one-off games, I believe, but I thought it should be brought up.

This is partly why I dig the Blade so much.  :)

Though the Teufelshund somewhat looks like if the Mech has drunk some of very high percentage of alcohol  ;)
