RP PAINTS brought back to life...
« on: 19 June 2018, 18:12:27 »
Found an amount of my stash of long-dried RalPartha paints.
A while ago I talked with someone that mentioned I could reconstitute them by grinding the pigment and using an acrylic extender...
(Was it you DAK who told me about it?)

I've read all the 'internet bro-science tips', but I'd like to know of actual success stories, and of their how to's :)
Thanks!

As long as there's still liquid in the bottle, a good mixing/rehydration should be fine. I haven't tried to reconstitute dry bottles.

This is one of those times where it's really best to let them go. Yes, theoretically you could grind the residue down and reconstitute it. It's going to be extremely time-consuming, you're going to have to grind the dried paint very finely, it could end up costing as much or more than buying new paints, and the end result will be disappointing.

Instead, I suggest just buying new paints from a modern manufacturer. Not only does this save you time and frustration, modern paints really are far superior to the old RP stuff.
