ok one of my favorite novels is  a classic that no one with a mind will not say its one of the best novels written by alexander dumas count of monte cristo.over the years i watched few adaptations of the book russian german french and american
and two that really struck me as the best of all movies out there were 1934 and 1998 versions.
and one mention that got me started on the road to read at age 5 after watching the movie the 1975 version with richard chambarlain. the dungeon stay of edmunt dantes was the scene that had made a big impression on me ...even at age 5
sadly i was not able to read the book till i was 8 no librarian would let me get my hands on the book...
so does any one have a fave version of the adaptation of the novel?

I always enjoy the 2002 film version with  Jim Caviezel and Guy Pearce. Oh so much fun.

I didn't even hate #2, Aftershocks.  It was D2V, which is always a hit in the casting and effects budget, but they did a great job with what they had.  Most important to me, they didn't just recycle the original plot and monsters, taking them in a completely different direction with the Screamers.   Some people didn't like them at all, but at least the movie took a chance.  Gotta respect that.

That it did, which is why #4 i loved, with the going back in the past, to explore somewhat, their origins..  though i disliked #5, bloodlines.

So...here's Venom

And queue the Internet screams of "this is going to be 99% Tom Hardy and the last 1% of the movie as Carnage" in 3...2...1...

I'm having trouble seeing the point of a Venom movie that's set in a continuity apart from Spider-Man.

Not that they won't, but that'd be a silly leap. Hardy isn't afraid to do a movie wearing a mask the entire time.

Went and saw Black Panther.  Was really underwhelmed.  Some outstanding stuff, some crappy stuff, some "huh?" stuff, wrapped in an Iron Man remake (also a lot of my complaints for Dr. Strange, which was also an Iron Man rehash.  Marvel needs to let more time go before recycling a story so closely.)

Still looking forward to tomorrow.

I like Tom Hardy as a actor....hope he does better as Venom then he did as Bane.

If there's one side character I really want to know more about, its Tom Hardy's snarky forger-mercenary-gambler-adventurer in Inception.

As an actor, he's had a lot more hits than 'misses' for me..

As long as Tom Hardy covers parts of his face, he plays some really good roles.

It had its moments, but yeah, it was kind of...bleah. The final battle scene really felt like they ran out of budget and had to hurry things along.

A lot of the older Bond movies especially are pretty cringe-inducing.  Bond's smooth-talking pickup lines haven't aged well.

I just saw the very first Robocop from 1987 on Demand and I loved it.  I finally saw it from a-z.  Yes, I know about Robocop for like decades.  jeez.

Surprisingly i liked the 2nd robocop more than the first, but both still beat out the reboot.

The reboot missed the point of the originals.

Well, finally saw Maze runner - Death cure..
So it was an "interesting ending".  Left me with a # of questions.  But still, a decent ending to the series.
