it's an absolute shame it's not more widely spread, but the 'goons seem to love keeping toys to themselves. this game could use more tailfins on 'mechs. and tanks. and battle armor.

Poignant AND funny...where did that come form anyhow?

I always liked this mech, though I rarely had a chance to use one for obvious reasons.

Its like a self defending LRM platform with a really, really nasty close range bite.

And the one or two times I used it and an enemy closed into short range, I jumped right on top of him and pounded him with close range firepower and punches!

If there's a nastier bad-terrain assault Mech than the Shogun C, I don't want to know about it. That Mech is just a beast- LRMs and PPC at range, then switch to the SRM barrage to finish the target. Since I'm a Streak SRM addict, this is a staple for me in games.

Pity it's beyond merely ugly- I'd love to have one for my collection, but it's just SO bad. :P

Agree on all points. What could we use to proxy it?

The Shogun Trisha will always have a place in my heart, since one of my Shoguns was painted in WoB white to serve as that mech by 3CL for the "Black Widows on Remus" canon game that was run a few years back.  I keep it the mini in a place of honor on my mech shelf, but I do hope to use it again in that config.  It did well in the aforementioned battle, and was still operational at battle's end.

I am hoping to mod another model to be my shogun. Can any recommend some lrm 20 arms?

Don't stress it. Not many times people are counting the difference between 15 and 20 tubes. Even in the original canon art. Go ahead, count'em!

So all you really need to do is find come good SRM tubes to tack onto the fins. I think this works well enough.

That’s really great thanks! The mini looks better than I excepted... I want to make a shogun c for my blood spirits. I was think of using the orachi as the base and perhaps the Scylla arms?

That'd work, but it would be cheaper to track down the Alpha Strike Fire Lance pack, with it's plastic Shogun. Some out there for around $10 online. The Shogun C is plastic, the other Shogun is metal, and - other than the leg stance - you'd be hard to pick the difference. Plus you get a Trebuchet, Dervish, and Stalker!

Edit - just checked out the Orochi at IWM. Just push the torso back a little - you see the Shogun doesn't overhang much - and it's a terrific base!

Yes, the Thunderbolt launchers are assembled separately from the body.   That's a good idea come to think of it. I might borrow your idea for a pilot custom now.

Score! My modding abilities are limited to arm swaps. Hmmm the Omni Mech missile pod arms should work fine as well...

Which tubes did you use for your Shogun C?

That can be arranged.  I'll tentatively set it for September.

I wonder if swapping the SRMs for MMLs would be useful. Wait, I just reinvented the HawkWolf. Nevermind.

Wasn't the Shogun one of the Mechs that began production again on Ark Royal when the Dragoon's treated from Outreach during the early years of the Jihad.

As I read the NTNU section of TRO 3150 (p. 224 in the PDF), the Dragoons contracted the Shark Foxes to build more "Clan configuration" Shoguns (I presume this means the Shogun C) after the Jihad.  Since then, the Foxes have sold two new configs but we don't have record sheets for them yet.

I would love to see new minis for these and frankly all the dragoon mechs!

For this IWM would need official art. And if there's updated visuals for the Dark Age Shoguns, they really, simply, absolutely, must keep the fins.

I imagine the whole reason the writers decided to resurrect the design in the first place was to give some added meaning to the Lance Pack that had one. So for that reason alone I doubt that, in canon, there'd be a visual change.

Ok I am starting my shogun c conversion attempt again! To clarify the image below with the dual 6 tube launchers is the C variant?

IWM?

Where is that artwork from?

Someone is saying that is the C model, but, I thought that was the 2H-Royal version with the ML/MPL combo in the CT/Head?

Operation Klondike. There is no formal art for the C that I'm aware of at the moment.

Any suggestions for the six shot tubes? The IWM ones seem big but I have no bases for comparison?
