Haven’t played around with the "improved weapons" so I can’t really comment on that. But I have to ask why the weapon placement is so different from the original? Not a single weapon is in the same place?

the iLL was put in the side torso on purpose, but it can be moved back to the CT if needed, the rest were due to not exactly knowing which weapon must go where to emulate the CN-9A with improved weapons.

What is the AU about?

Basically about the descendants of a TH Engineer and TH scientist who through the ages passed down a data disk with not only production SL militech but a lot of experimental/ functionally identical to clanspec stuff as well, which they start to work on at the NAIS. Plus in this AU the FedCom Doesn't collapse at least not completely. The two parent states still maintain positive relations with each other.

Because they were still under development at the time of making this variant.
No DHS? ???

DHS were still in development at the time, which is why this design uses SHS instead.

It just seems odd that the weapons would come to fruition before DHS, that's all.
