It strikes me that with all the Clan savings in weight due to their advanced Endo-Steel and Ferro-Fibrous armor the savings don't really seem to pay off until you hit medium and heavier designs. At least with the Jade Falcon's usual choice of firepower over speed or armor.
But lets do a remake of a mech that honestly I'm surprised that hasn't gotten a Dark Ages revamp.

Red Devil Industries, having settled into its new Clan Overlord's clutches, was still producing mostly Inner Sphere designs and wanted to grab the attention of its new Management with something flashy. Hence, upgrading the venerable Kit Fox, which was a popular ride for many a Jade Falcon MechWarrior.
First, 33% increase in weight to 40 tons. The New Kit Fox II is a 'light' medium mech, but maintains the same speed as the original. 97 kph or 6/9 in game terms. This is still 'slowish' by the standards of mechs in this weight category. Compare and contrast the Kit Fox II with the Clan Viper, which moves 8/12/8. However, while the Viper has eight and a half tons of pod space, the Kit Fox II has nineteen tons of pod space. Nearly half the mech's combat weight can be in ordinance. Armor was also increased, a common noted 'failing' of the original Kit Fox. 7 tons of FF armor cover the beast, with each leg and center torso able to withstand 18 points of damage. Each side torso's armor can withstand a Clan ER PPC or Gauss Rifle slug, while the arms made do with the max allowed of 12 points. The back armor is fairly thin however, with each side torso able to withstand an Inner Sphere medium laser (5 points) while the center torso rear can take that with a silver of armor left over (6 points). This is a "Front Towards Enemy" kind of mech.
It's also an Omni and Red Devil Industries went sorta mad with it.
Prime apes the original Kit Fox with a nice big Large Pulse Laser in the right arm, two ER medium Lasers in the left arm, an ATM-9 launcher with 3 tons of ammunition, a flamer in the right arm, a Jade Falcon Light Active Probe riding shotgun alongside the cockpit and two extra freezers. Its a jack of all trades with this weapon loadout, but still fairly able to cause damage with the ATM/s flexibility compared to the old LBX-5.
Alpha is more a hunter than a straight up fighter. The old ER Large Laser rides in the right arm, a Plasma Cannon with two tons of ammo rides in the left, a Streak-6 pack in the right torso, no less than four micro-pulse lasers adorn the side torsos and head along with an entire suite of electronics in full Active Probe, ECM and two ton targeting computer. With so many anti-infantry options one wonders if this was intended for killing swathes of infantry or BA.
Bravo is a dedicated sniper. Twin ER Large Lasers form the primary striking power, along with two ER medium lasers for backup. A 2 ton Targeting Computer ties into those guns, making it a scary sniper as it also mounts three extra freezers to handle the heat and six jump-jets, letting it bounce around over rough terrain with ease.
Charlie is a massive Clan Jade Falcon middle finger against any Bug mechs silly enough to get in range. Two Large Pulse Lasers, Two ER medium lasers, and a small pulse laser for anti-infantry work. It also has a full ECM and Active Probe system. Two extra freezers help with the heat.
Delta...well its not quite a Viper but its close. Eight Improved Jumpjets are a good start, letting it hop around like its 40 ton stable-mate. But the weapons are pure Energy, no explosive. Two ER Mediums, two Medium Pulses, and two small Pulses. It also has an ECM suite to let it wreck havoc with anything it jumps close to. Two extra freezers cool it off too.
Echo is weird. It takes up 4 tons to add 4 units of modular armor to the mech, one on each arm and side torso. Suddenly the arms and side torsos have more armor than the center torso or legs, and it slows the mech down to 5/8...which makes it a stable-mate of the Cougar. A large pulse laser, two medium pulse lasers and two micro pulse lasers along with a Streak-6 pack round out the weapons.
Hotel, in many ways, echoes the original Prime model. But now the mech has a Heavy Large Laser in the right arm, and an LRM-20 with Artemis IV in the left arm. Two tons of reloads feed the launcher. An ER Medium and two micro-pulse lasers round out the secondary weapons. The usual two-ton targeting computer rides in the right torso and two extra Freezers help a little with the heat.
Kilo is...well...an attempt at a missile boat? Kinda? No less than Six ATM-3s with six tons of ammo altogether. Two medium pulse lasers round out the weapons. This is not a popular config as the small launchers almost guarantee its hard to get a 'good' kill with the ER missiles. Of course, at point blank range that many HE warheads might cause a slight...browning of the pants.
Mike is another jumper, with six regular jumpjets. It also mounts a Large Pulse Laser, Two Medium Pulse Lasers, Two Flamers, ECM, Active Probe and TAG for calling down artillery. Two extra freezers help with the heat.
