XTRO:SW Art Question
« on: 23 November 2012, 03:25:39 »
I bought XTRO:SW and have to ask: Is the Marauder art a more upfront this-is-how-they-always-looked retcon?  Or some variant-specific, non-retcon art just to have something fill the gap between Age of War and Project Phoenix?  The entry text does not give any indication of cosmetic changes beyond swapping the autocannon for SRMs to suggest a notable physical difference compared to standard production models (say 4X vs 3R), thus possible art retcon.

The Super Wasp and Griffin text on the other hand say they were built on custom, heavier chassis.  The Griffin in particular: "designed to look like its medium-weight forebear, the Super Griffin’s appearance was a deliberate effort to confuse would-be observers," suggesting possible variant-specific, non-retcon art.

Has the XTRO series given you a last-chance opportunity at (some, if not all) Unseen art retcon before moving on to the Dark Age period?  Or is all new art for any mechs on the Unseen list strictly variant-specific, non-retcon?

Hello,

The idea of "retconning" the original 3025 art away was permanently shelved months ago. The art in the XTRs represents variants only. That is all we can say.

Thank you,
