MM bots and aero

I'm just starting to explore the aero side of BattleTech.  Do either TestBot or Princess handle aero battles with the facility with which they do 'Mechs?


I realize the bots are fairly limited and not that bright...but the one time I tried an aero game with a bot, it did literally nothing.  Wondering if that was a fluke, or if the bots just don't do aero.

Princess can handle aero on ground maps.

I have done some experiments and princess would be who I would go with for the bots.  As for myself I think I will stick with the mechs.. i suck at trying to figure out the piloting things for velocity and all the other stuff.

The only attempt I made at including aerospace fighters on a ground map, the 'bot simply let them sit still until they stalled out and crashed.  Not a lot of point to playing, if it's "auto-win" for the human player.  I don't recall whether that was the testbot or Princess 'bot, though.

Testbot does not know how to use aerospace at all.

Princessbot can use aerospace but ONLY on ground maps and then Princess is mostly just designed for air-to-ground attacks, she will not properly fight enemy fighters (treats them as though they were ground targets, which doesn't work so well).

Does Princessbot know how to use bombs?

or is it Strike(?) attacks only?

Princess can use internal weapons and rocket packs.  Bombing is still out.

If you're going to use Princess, use the latest build, it's much better.
