Fun with magnets!
« on: 20 March 2018, 18:22:52 »
...and more fun than I should have had with a Spider...
Still have to patch up his jetpack.

Interestingly, he doesn't look too bad with the Blackjack arms.

Also interestingly, I was able to use an xacto saw blade to remove the backback with the arms intact... It wasn't until afterwards that I looked at my magnetic spheres and thought about articulating the arms :(

Welcome to the rabbit hole lol.

Nearly all my omni mechs are magentized. I went as far as doing all the torso weapons too on my celestials.

Oh god! Magnetizing Mechs... I do this in a limited fashion with the old RAFM Heavy Gear miniatures (pretty big) and Warhammer 40k. With the 40k I went a bit overboard with magnetizing, now whenever you place them a little close together or someone bumps the table, it'll end up in a big pile of Terminators, all stuck together...

It looks good though, but not going to copy you, NOWAY! *looks at the pile of magnets* Maybe... ;-)

I experimented with magnets in the bases (for various uses) and ran into the same problem. It tended to damage the paint.  :(
