Just a thought, back in the day I helped run a Battletech game at Salute (South London Warlords)
Would people rather I hold the campaign event at a game store (like Dark Sphere) or at a ... alternate location (like one where drinks and food can be purchased and consumed?).
Well, we're all still alive... though one warrior did end up shouting "ten thousand lives for the Coordinator" and running up close to a Hunchie IIC variant (only to get headshot from behind by a tank)...
What about the Cheshire folks?
Macclesfield, Warrington and Kidsgrove aren't that far from each other (hell, I was in Macclesfield on a job interview) - do you guys fancy brushing the cobwebs off?
I can travel (not too far with the price of fuel lately) or I can host - I have a 'workshop' attached to my house that could easily accommodate quite a large game, and coffee and tea on tap. Also, I have rules, maps dice and 'mechs - you'd just need your record sheets really.
Folks,
Can you add your name and location to the list I have started below and we can get an up to date pic of who we have in the UK?

I'm running a mailing list for several of us in and around London where we've been sorting out games -- not as often as we'd like at the moment, but still 3-4 a year. It's fairly low-traffic at the moment. Anyone who can get into London reasonably easily is welcome to join it here: http://firedrake.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/battletech-london (http://firedrake.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/battletech-london)
Hi Gang,
Would there be much interest if I went ahead and grabbed us some space at the upcoming UK Games Expo 2014?
Taking place in Birmingham. 30th May - 1st June.
A few of us are going but I would be happy to schedule some organised play or demo/participation games if people were interested.
Fairly central point and easy to get to with some of the Irish contingent also flying in.
Let me know and I will kick off a proper event/challenge entry on the forum.

Shichiro, I hope to run into you on Saturday at Expo (I'll mostly be working for SJ Games).
Right,
All being well there are a few of us attending Expo just to visit and lay out the ground work for running something there next year with a formal programme of support events leading up to it.
Expo seems to be offering a good venue and good organisational capabilities so I'm looking forward to planning something with them.
James, Northamptonshire - my local club is Phoenix Gaming, but I seem to be the only BT gamer left in the county!
I'm a CBT gamer in the croydon area.
I hear there's a club at 25 St George's Walk, at the "legends" shop (if it's still open).
Not sure if it does battletech there though.

Tim, from Lincolnshire.
Just unpacked some old Battletech last used in the early 90s. I have the Battltech Compendium, TR3055, TR3057, TR2750 & TR3050 and am about to spend the night seeing just how much out-of-date these rules are!
Hey there guys!
Go by the name Pika - Currently living in Sheffield and will be returning to Liverpool after May 2017.
If you're in the area give me a poke. I'm also about on MegaMek and MWO as the same name so if you see me around, say hi! :D

Hey Guys,
Recently South London based (Greenwich) down from Lincolnshire. As it's cropped up in the thread.
I have the starter box set as well as the battle lance.
Up for casual games and perhaps a campaign. Though have always wanted to play a full on time of war-total war campaign, but I appreciate the level of involvement in that.
I'm quite rusty and haven't played a full game to completion yet.
Player around with megamek and against the bot type campaigns, so I feel I have a reasonable grasp of the universe.
Dark Sphere is a cool venue if any of you have been before? Good pubs nearby too and being near Waterloo the connections are pretty decent. Not sure what the requirements are to get a table there.
Thanks,
I'm based just down the river in Gravesend. We have a modest Battletech community of five or six players with differing levels of experience at the local games club.

We're currently playing a campaign set in the Second succession wars and I'm planning a Jihad era campaign for later in the year.
Cool. I looked it up and It would take me an hour to get there from Deptford for an £8 pound off peak return. What days of the week do you usually play? I see that the club website mentions wednesday night but not sure if you play outside of the club schedule. I work freelance so plans can often change last minute. But would definitely be up for some skirmish matches at some point.
6-7 players seems a bit more than modest. I have struggled to find a group of players in London so far. I'm sure they exist. It's just finding them.
The wargames club meets only on Wednesdays, but directly opposite the pub we meet in is a games shop called The Mug and Meeple. All off us are regulars in the shop and we often game there at the weekends.

If you drop into the Mug at any point, tell them that Matt (that's me) told you about them, both the guys who work there are close friends. I also can usually be found there all afternoon on Wednesdays because I don't work that day or have anything better to do with my time.
Short term, if you'd like to get a game in sometime in the near future, drop me a line and we can work something out. I have commitments on Monday and Thursday evenings, but otherwise I'm not too busy...
There is a reasonable group of UK players on Facebook that post from time to time. But yeah, it’s pretty tricky. Hopefully when the new box set is released that will be a good time to get some new players interested!
Don't think I'm part of that - what's it called?
Battletech International
Battletech UK
There’s also Battletech Players by Zipcode. Which has a couple of uk people on.
Greetings everyone
I'm about to move down to the South of London for a new job. Picked up both boxsets today I'm looking to get back into the tabletop version of the game. Do you guys still meet in Central London?

I don't know about Central London, but there's an active community in Gravesend, just down the Thames Estuary. If you're in south east London we might be convenient for you.
Indeed potentially going to be in the South East so definitely going to make a note to contact you guys when I've moved.
Hey London folk,
I do still play. I haven't been into Dark Sphere for a while as the games have grown to a campaign size so more suited to playing at someone's house. Would be up for a skirmish game though. Gravesend is only a 35 minute drive for me (Poplar)
Hey, Birmingham here, never played a game other than MegaMek, never even touched a mini (gasp!).
I don't think so. I am hopeful that some traders will be selling Battletech...
There were a few items in the bring and buy, but didn't see much else last year. Obviously that was prior to the release of the box sets and map though. Hopefully they'll be more this year.
Chris
Any players in the Warrington/North Cheshire area?
Hello! I am Matt, from Plymouth, South West UK. Will travel to defeat filthy Surat freebirth.
Or, you know. Play BT.
Hi Matt, Glenn from Bere Alston, where about's in Plymouth are you based?
I’m in Long Eaton, between Derby and Nottingham.
I’m a new player, so take it easy on me.
Northamptonshire - I've posted on here before but I've got two players involved, and there's a few more at Northants Wargamers, anyone else nearby fancies swapping some AC20 shells?
Yo, I'm in Plymstock, not that Plymouth is big enough for any part of it to be that far away from anything else!
Do you play anywhere at the minute, or would you be game for a meet up?
Hey, I live in grays and I'm interested in playing some battletech. I've bought some of the rulebooks and mechs, but never played it. Are there any groups around London that play battletech and would welcome new players?
Telford, England. Currently running games at my local gaming club every alternate Friday evening, and the occasional Sunday morning-afternoon.ooo! I'd like more information on this please! I live in Birmingham, 45m-1hr away.

What time do you start? Where is the club? How many people do you have playing?
