Post by: Weirdo on 16 April 2024, 16:39:43
Scytha.

Is it

Scythe-A?

Or

Sith-A?

Or

Something else entirely?

Thank you.

The OmniFighters are named for migratory tribes mainly from Asia.  The Scytha comes from the Scythians, which were pronounced "SIH-thee-uns" according to the British Museum (https://www.britishmuseum.org/blog/introducing-scythians#:~:text=The%20Scythians%20(pronounced%20'SIH%2D,(Opens%20in%20new%20window).).

Thus, "SIH-tha" would be consistent with the historical pronunciation.

Unsure how to say "Sih". Are you saying that "Sith-a" was the correct answer?

I'd do it more like "SI-tha" with SI being like "sit" rather than the Spanish "si" (see)

Apologies, I'm such a nerd that it didn't even occur to me that there was any way to pronounce "Sith" other than how they do in Star Wars.

Dark Lord of the Sith-A it is. Thanks!
