A little ridiculous...
« on: 04 December 2020, 17:36:11 »
So... ummm.. don't me to complain but see the attached:

 :'(

So, after losing a huge post about terrain on the first one, I guessed V instead of Y or maybe P instead of I... and all of the material got deleted.

I get the second.

Beyond that, there are 3 other anti-botting/anti-spamming questions that are asked.

Does this go away? Did I do something wrong, somehow and am just being punished because they think I'm a bot?

I think a mod or admin was really kind and gifted me 5 posts being the magic number!!! I was staring at 10 as a long way to go.

So, if someone on the admin staff did, THANK YOU!

I wish I could upvote you for the "visual hate crime" filenames alone. I know I'm averaging 3 or 4 incorrect before I get a match. Makes me wonder if I really am a robot...

I'll give it a look. In the meantime, I've set you at 10 posts, so it won't be an issue any longer for you, at least.

So we cranked it to 10 posts about a decade or so ago to combat forum spambots. Might not be as big of a scourge anymore as it was. Maybe drop the limit to 5 posts, see what happens?
The solution is just ignore Paul.

Maybe wait a bit until the kickstarter hoopla has died down a bit.  Its guaranteed to attract the wrong kind of attention; I've seen the same thing on some software discussion forums when they have a new high-profile release.
Think about it.  It's what we do.

Speaking of, what's the general wait time to be approved to be a forum poster?
I've got a bud who's been waiting for three days, and it's been so long for me that I don't remember how long it took me back in the day.

It was pretty long in mine case. I actually posted about it here:
