Gurteltier 2 MBT

Updated Gurteltier design for the modern 3100s battlefield.  The preponderance of ECCM and the constant use of AMS makes this a more logical choice compared to older designs.  C3 Boosted + Angel ECM means that you can generally cut through ECCM and bring those guns to bear.  Twin MML-3s improves the chances of scoring those necessary criticals when AMS is less of an issue.  Pretty much everything else was left as is.

Hmm... Considering that artillery is one of the Big Bad Things for assault tanks, how about using reactive armor instead of HFF? Sure, it's a lot less points, but 304 is still enough to take a whole lot and half damage from those off-table chickens ought to be worth something!

I thought about it, but I wasn't sure if Reactive Armor was all that common or considered merely Advanced Tech by the 3100s.  Any word on that?

1. C3B is not needed, because facing AECM, it will still disable C3B. And so regular C3 + AECM works just as well.

2. Reactive is a bad idea because there's a chance your armor will explode with every hit. LBX is bad enough to vees already.

I disagree on the C3 Boosted point on account of the opponents still mounting Guardian ECM systems.  While many new Mechs carry Angel ECMs (especially in the Capellan Confederation), there still seems to be some designs mounting Guardian ECMs.  Additionally older Mechs are still in play, some of which are still considered good or more reliable.  Some are favored still by their respective governments.  In the end, not having to switch back and forth can be something of a boon.

Reactive can be bad with those runaway explosions, but it is a brave new world :p

Another fair point.  Will play with it and see what comes out of the extra tonnage.
