Let's see....driving to California......1900 miles, more or less........more than a solid day of driving, if my POS does not break down......maybe I can ship myself by UPS.
If you are waiting for me to go out of my mind you will have to wait. The exits are not clearly marked and the doors open the wrong way. Oh, and the doors are trapped!

I'd actually not mind visiting by Amtrak if it didn't take almost two days to ride.   #P

*MY* Amtrak ride would be wonderful, actually. I've done it twice, and I don't mind doing it again. Greyhound wouldn't be bad if they removed 20% of the seats and enforced a noise limit.

AMTRAK would not be a bad idea, but I have to drive more than an hour just to get to the nearest location where AMTRAK stops.

It's the reason I can't go to GenCon, I'd have to spend nine days away. :(

The Arty was good but your side should have started with fewer units so we could have done more turns

This game was spillover from Kublacon neh? I agree it was somewhat larger and more epic in scope than I prefer for a single game session, but it was a con came. Wasn't that the point?

The final forces seemed roughly equal, but since you didn't get your reinforcements until turn 5 you were hosed. The game never was a fair fight. One little fun fact I discovered this morning; your Long Toms were hocking HE rounds. HE rounds do 25/15/5 damage....

What's wrong with flying?

I can't speak for Doug, but as for myself, well:

1)  Scared of heights.  Seriously, I have panic attacks.

2)  Scared of flying.  Tied to the above somehow.  Last time I got into an airplane, I was legally intoxicated when I stepped off.  It was either get slobbering drunk, or scream and whine for the whole trip.

Those two reasons alone are why I won't fly anymore unless I'm forced to.

Flying may be fun, but heart attacks, screaming fits, panic attacks, and strong narcotic injections ain't. :D
