Glider/LAM protomech designs

I know that there aren't any canon Glider/LAM protomech units apart from the Svartalfa (which is somewhat subpar, IMO). Several references to Glider/LAM protomechs in WoR and Interstellar Operations makes me feel like there should be more out there, in use by the Ravens or the "former" Society. 

Glider/LAM protomechs are very fragile (especially in an age with HAGs everywhere), and it seems to me that they should be built to be much faster to jack up their TMM and are therefore best used as scouts or harassers either on the edge of battle or behind enemy lines where there are few defenses against them at all.

What seems like the best weapon system to go for?

LB-2X - I know it's been done before with the Minotaur 2, but being a glider might actually give it the LOS to use LBX effectively
4-5x Streak 1 tubes (sort of an LBX cluster shot without the -1TH)
4-5x Streak 2 tubes (an ER-SRM of sorts)
3-4x SPLs (strafing would be fun but would probably be suicidal)

Ideal speed would need to be at least 7/11, if not more. You can probably get away with 40pts of armor and invest the rest into speed.

While that definitely smacks of "delicious non-optimized FASA flavor," I'm still inclined to say "hmmmm...."

The PAC2 has a range of 20 and with 20 rounds (so you can use Precision ammo and have 10 shots), weighs in at 4 tons. This puts our Proto into LPL range.

Whereas a LRM2 with 12 shots is about 600kg and a Streak LRM2 is 1000kg. Sure, they don't get the -2 from the Precision rounds, but I'm not sure if it's worth 3 tons for that.

I guess on the other hand, we want our LAM Proto to do enough damage to be annoying but be hard enough to hit to get away with it.

Preface; I've been away from BT for the last decade and I've only recently returned to the Universe due to a TT-RPG game that I'm running that "decided" to become a BT game from a generic one-shot (and throw-away, as in the game started in a random cafe at midday over literary / creative discussion) bodge. So my thinking is decidedly non-BT and very much real world.

Wouldn't a design with a single integrated main weapon (a limited shot heavy hitter), an integrated "side-arm" (A light laser of some kind) and a modular backpack be a better... or at least more optimal choice?
That way, the Protomech star can drop using disposable glider packs while still retaining basic combat capability, dump them when they get on the ground and replace their packs with (heavy or specialist) weapon packs on the ground.
Not the best approach for immediate action, and probably not one the Clans would take but the flexibility and the lethality would be off the charts if/when used correctly.
