Here is my "want ad" for new personnel:
"Stable combined arms battalion is seeking MechWarriors, vehicle crews, and infantry personnel for combat positions in a moderate intensity environment.  We are experiencing growth due to improved finances.  Employer is highly supportive of mercenaries.  Equipment is not necessary, but can dramatically improve your hiring chances. To date, casualties have been light and mostly as the result of an air-crash. Transportation costs are negotiable."

Before I publish this, does anyone have any suggestions?

You might want to place an ad for technicians and infantry people, easier to aquire on Nejiro, and promote from within your unit

An idea for all players: We could open an infantry school (on a relatively small scale) using our most experienced infantry as instructors.  Some of our troops have been through the DCMS marines advanced training courses and could reteach those skills.

you have a good start.
you may just want to state that you are looking for all types (MechWarrior, vehicle crew, infantry, technical and yes even medical) for your off world add.

for on world as Elidhdawn posted.

starting your own infantry school is an idea but whit part of your contract you can send your people to the training center here on world.

the major down side for a "player school" would be the need to pull people from combat units to run the school. Add in costs .... site needed .... munitions .... other need items and it does add up quick.

I thought that I did.

Here is what I have now:
"Stable combined arms battalion is seeking MechWarriors, vehicle crews, infantry, and medical personnel for combat positions in a moderate intensity environment.  We seek technical personnel for non-combat positions. We are experiencing growth due to improved finances.  Employer is highly supportive of mercenaries.  Equipment is not necessary, but can dramatically improve your hiring chances and salary. To date, casualties have been light and mostly as the result of an air-crash. Salary, bonus, and transportation costs are negotiable."

What else is recommended?

I would leave out the part about casualties, most mercenaries understand the costs of their trade, emphasize your expansion and your salary rates, and any bonuses, and/or hiring bonuses and that you are hiring for a general defense contract.

Tell me in general where you are posting your want ad, Mercnet, MRBC plus? (Not looking for specifics just an idea where you are looking)

There are several local mercantile enterprises that might help you with shipping your new hires and their stuff

Should I give specific numbers (I have no idea of where to start with that) or simply mention that I will be offering hiring bonuses and salary will be contingent on experience, recommendations, and possession of equipment?

I plan to use MercNet and MRBC affiliated venues.  Are you asking for the regions the warriors are coming from?

What type of bonus not how much, incentives attract future employees, don't forget that we are in bfe

are you planning to advertise outside mercnet on Solaris, Mercenaries Star, etc., Nejiro, Outworlds Alliance, Izar Cluster, other nearby periphery locations, your home realm etc.?

The Nejiro Guild Halls, schools and colleges?

your start is very good. pointing out that your unit is combined arms shows you are not a one trick pony.
stating that growth is why you are looking for more people is also a nice touch.
showing you are working with an employer that is good to work with is also a nice point.
Equipment and pay are things that should and would be taken up if they get past the first interview.

I would leave out the part about casualties, most mercenaries understand the costs of their trade, emphasize your expansion and your salary rates, and any bonuses, and/or hiring bonuses and that you are hiring for a general defense contract.

I will second the not talking about casualties. anyone in the biz knows that this is a fact.
the money part I will say once more that this is something that is talked about if they are worth a second look.

yes moving people and cargo all of you do have help on world and in system.

Should I give specific numbers (I have no idea of where to start with that) or simply mention that I will be offering hiring bonuses and salary will be contingent on experience, recommendations, and possession of equipment?

the most I would say to put it the ad is that you have some bonuses for any that get hired.
Gear is always something that gets people more money. the better the toys you bring the better your pay will be.

are you planning to advertise outside mercnet on Solaris, Mercenaries Star, etc., Nejiro, Outworlds Alliance, Izar Cluster, other nearby periphery locations, your home realm etc.?

as I said before you should have a couple of ads.
one for local ... on world and within a jump and one for MercNet/MRBC.

keep in mind you and all other GSF units would be in the D section of the different halls. the main reasons are your short time as Mercs and you are working in what most think of as the minor leagues.

last off do not say who you thing the OpFor is. this would bring way more heat then any and all of you can handle.
say you are working for an independent world fine. say Nijero or that WoB/Kokuryu-kai they will bring a lot more trouble as you are now making this a much more public thing and they will not like that.

I've had a very very rough set of real life things going on this past month so haven't kept up to date/posted as much as I had planned before everything started going nuts. So I will sum up, and anything that needs to be expanded on, let me know.

Post Previous Mission:
We want to set up sensors and hardlines out of the ECM area so we can get notifications about any goings on at those caverns. Even if we get some false alarms, it will take less personal to deal with that than trying to watch the whole area.

We are learning more about laser coms and now when hearing about ECM heavy areas, won't be caught with a HQ vehicle that can't do anything and serves no purpose. 7 tons of equipment vs little crystals.

Magnetic Pulse Warheads are being added to the to do list. The to do list will be changed up a bit to have "What we are trying to get" and "What we are investigating the manufacture of". I will update this sometime soon.

We'd love to have some training and installation help from the illuminated Ironborn. I say illuminated because while everyone else had a finger up their nose (see 3 turns of trying to communicate for 1 pair), they actually acted competently.

There are some other things of interest, but like I said, RL swamp over here.

Pre Mission:
Mission is escort of 4/6 vehicles and/or mechs. So, I plan to field the following:

Mech 1:
- Rangoric in a MAD-5S MV 4/6 (hard to keep up, but vehicles can't go full bore due to turns/etc so I figure it will be fine)
Mech 2:
- Hermes in a HER-4S MV 9/14(18 MASC) (can keep up while walking :) )
Vehicle:
- NYYRIKK in the Hawk Moth
Infantry:
- Aether in the Karnov
- 1 Unit Grey Death Standard with MG
- 1 Unit Grey Death Standard with LRR

If we know the route we plan to take, I'd like to do a sim run where we try and figure out the best ambush points, see which fit the pattern we've seen so far, then see if there are any locals that can give some intel on those areas. Specifically, they seem to like areas with crap communications. If this is too involved for now, that's fine.

I was reminded to post a force for the mission, which I will, but despite looking back through the last 2 pages I haven't seen a mission brief that is more current than the one from August.

Barghest
Cobra w/ Infantry
Morningstar w/ the "toads
Arctic Fox
Windage and elevation Mrs. Langdon. Windage and elevation."
