Out of Character July 7th Game Day Related:

Do we have a rough idea of the terrain in the area? I don't have much choice in mobility, but I do have some.

So, I've made a full company and have plans on how to break it into 3 deployable groups that just about work together. This plan won't survive long, but might as well start with one :)

C3 Group (2/1/1)
BJ2-OB Blackjack
OW-1D Owens
Schiltron Prime
HQ or Cavalry Attack Chopper + Taggers

Command Group (1/2/1)
MAD-5S Marauder
Sturmfeur
Hawk Moth
HQ or Maxim + 4 Platoons mixed weapons.

Infantry Heavy (1/1/2)
HER-4S Hermes
Puma Assault Tank
HQ or Karnov and whatever isn't in use yet.

For infantry it's "HQ or" because I do have a Command Vehicle, which if I read things right adds a bit to initiative, so if one mission y'all have things that want initiative more often I can bring that.

All 3 have things that make me happy, I know we haven't played together (and it will be my first real game in decades aside from computer version) but anything seem like it might work well with what you are planning? Keep in mind my pilots are newbies so G/P is pretty bad compared to what I saw y'all having when I was there last time.

(Link to unit details, IC I am getting details and said I would share: https://github.com/Rangoric/BattleTech-Campaign)

In Character Before Mission (Lunch at Nerai with Chiji Meiyo Saganami):

Jasmine (CO), Daisy, and Kem (XO) make up the usual folks that will be at any official event. Daisy is non-military, but has the trust of her daughter Jasmine to handle things diplomatically. Daisy or Kem are the ones that will reply to all messages unless they are from a commander, the equivalent, or anyone that hints at an issue with talking with someone other than Jasmine.

This lunch is such an event for them. With it sounding formal, but dining, the three will dress is formal military attire for Jasmine & Kem, and Daisy will wear a formal dress of white with a purple pattern. Jasmine & Kem's outfits are purple primary, as that's their group's color.

During the lunch itself Jasmine will take point in the conversation, introducing the other two as appropriate, and not trying to be the center of conversation. All 3 will attempt to use the Chiji's preferred language. They all know Japanese, English, Swedish, and Swedenese, while Daisy/Kem know more.

After the lunch, Daisy will set up meetings with Rika Soren and Isao Himura, while Kem will contact Joy Yorokobi for a meet and greet.

In Character After Mission Is Heard About

Jasmine/Kem/Ambrosia having a discussion of information at hand.

Jasmine: "Well unlike while we had to do missions alone, it seems we will be deploying separately. You two will be one group so you can leverage that C3 network we have."
Kem: "Going to be rather thin, we should try to coordinate as much as we can. Our C3 network might be able to help others, but we won't have our usual Wedges."
Ambrosia: "The third deployment group is rather light. But it looks like it would make a nice support unit."
Kem: "It has your husband in that Puma. Not having much heavy down range of him might be a benefit. We might need to know a bit more about the area though and maybe what others are deploying. Being new around here we might benefit from deferring to others about expectations, I'll ask around."
Jasmine: "They actually each have a deployment group in the field right now, so if they are all light on what they have we might have to go in heavier than we plan, but I'd like not to, keep the 3 groups roughly even is a goal here."

The area has mountains and woods (like upstate/central NY just to give a local idea.)

as the new unit you do not have anyone in the field so you do not have to worry about that.

Happy Farther's Day to all (With two legs / four feet / fins / wings / what ever you care for)

I've got a 2 legged and 2 4 footed little ones. It was quiet and fun.

The Valkyries of Hanakotoba will field the following on July 7th

BJ2-OB Blackjack 'INANNA'
- OMNI Mounted Gray Death Standard 'ODIN'
OW-1D Owens 'SARASWARTI'
- OMNI Mounted Gray Death Standard 'GERI'
Schiltron Prime 'ARTEMIS'
- OMNI Mounted Gray Death Standard 'Freki'
Cavalry Attack Chopper 'SAVITR'
- TAG Spotter Infantry Platoon

We are against a combined arms unit, in terrain that is wooded and hilly. The BJ2-OB has jump jets, and is... um, the only mech I have that does. I picked the Cavalry over the Karnov since this unit has some BA already so didn't need another 2 units of BA while the other main group could use it.

I haven't heard anything about someone really needing the HQ Init bonus, so it will stay home.

I have a C3 and only 2 slaves, so if someone has a slave that could be compatible, I don't know if we have time to sort that out (in game).

Checking his notes from when he gave Kiah his recommendations for what units would be on line the fastest. “Kiah the Shadow Hawk is one of the units that will need the most time to bring back on line. She has a lot of damage plus some of the parts will need to come from Davion space. With all that is going on that will take some doing and time. The Banshee or Dervish would be better choices. The Banshee will be on line faster. I know this will be a sore spot but your Wolverine is on line. Giving these kids two Assaults is not a great idea and the Dervish is a missile boat and the ammo costs will be a factor. I can try and push the Wraith up. Cost for getting some of the needed parts will be a factor but it can be done.”Everett finishes.

“I would also offer that having these cadets in a good number of our assault units would not be wise.” Gunther starts. “We have many other pilots that should be in line for one of these ‘Mechs. As Everett pointed out getting repair items will take time and money. From a more tactical point the Wraith is a god pick as it is energy based weapons ‘Mech, fast and the pulse weapons will help the cadet if combat is the only option. The Dervish need special ammo to be most effective and someone that is still learning would not be the best for this type of ‘Mech.” Looking at his pad. “Rita is the best one for the Firefly as she is the better pilot. Linda has scored the next best as a pilot and should handle the Battlemaster. The Griffin is a good pick for Jenny. Harry would do well in with the Wraith or Wolverine. You will need to need to pick the ‘Mech you would want him in.”

“Okay that makes more sense. So we are sending Leaf as medic. Her husband Laz as communication’s Tech. and I think you are right Gunther it would be a better fit of Rita in the Firefly, Linda in the Battle Master, Jenny in the Griffin and Harry in my Wolverine. We also should send Yolanda Jackson as their logistics officer.”

“That will work she has been working with us for some time now.” Everett nodded.

“she is very detail oriented I agree.” Gunther says.

“Okay so we need to also contact the plant and see if they would agree to providing or at least helping to get built quarters for our people and equipment. Our people will be there 24/7 so they need better quarters then  just bunk bends .”

“that’s true” Everett says “it can be one of the first jobs for Yolanda. She can get together with Leaf and Laz to see what things they will need.”

“and we will be ready to assist her as needed.” Gunther

“We will need to have a meeting with all of them as well to discuss the assignment.” Kiah states and calls up her calendar. “Okay lets set up the meeting for 2 days from now at 2 pm.”

Hey Gang -

Sorry about being incommunicado for the last few months, hopefully that won't be the case again for a while...

Kem, glad you decided to join the group!   :drinking01: :smilie_happy_thumbup:

Anyway, several questions before I make final unit selections for the 7th:

1) can we get an overflight or some other type of recon to get more info on the opfor?

2) are the Valkyries of Hanakotoba c3 nets able to talk to our c3 nets?

3) can I get some repair/maintenance rolls before the game to try again to install the replacement c3 slaves that are still not correctly installed and get the Avatar back to fully operational? It's been a long time game wise since I've been out of the loop lately.  Also want to make some rolls on starting to rebuild the Owens that got turned into abstract art.

4) what is necessary to get replacement Longinus suits and troopers for the 2 KIA's?

5)  is the AOR near any previous incursion locations?  If so, which units were the bad guys the previous time(s)?

6)  if we do run a mission this month at your place (I'd love to, been far too long since my last Btech fix and last time hanging out with you guys), when in the timeline will it occur, before or after the mission on the 7th  (and what day irl would you have in mind?) and will it be seperate or related to the other mission?

7)  what is everyone thinking of unit mix wise? Saw Kem's post, but either the rest of you guys haven't posted yet or I've missed the posts...  Personally, would recommend compatible c3 and jumpers or vtols as I recommended to Kem.

8) How are things going on the attempt to secure suppliers for missile smoke rounds and other special munitions, other pod mixes for my omnis and additional DCMS compatible c3 masters and slaves?  Also, this being close in timeline to cannon availability for new weapons and mech/vehicle variants, any of that stuff able to be obtained yet?

I'm leaning towards sending my Wolvie, Avatar, Eagle and Schiltron alpha, but still might change that up a bit, most likely if the VoH c3 net is not compatible or if repairs on the wolvie c3 system and avatar are not possible before the mission.

Haven't decided on which pods to use on the schiltron, arty or lrm; suggestions?

-C

P.S. - Dawn, did I see you post that the dairy farm milks the cows "once a week"?!  Last time I checked, that needs to happen twice a DAY.  Every day. No exceptions.

sorry but with only a couple of weeks to go, no way.

the Valkyries and Winters Dream yes. for the others not so much.

if you get in early sure. but I do mean early like 12 ... 12:30 as we start at 1

Quote
4) what is necessary to get replacement Longinus suits and troopers for the 2 KIA's?

troopers you can take a couple of troopers form one your normal infantry units. your BA unit skill will go down as you are replacing half of the unit. as for the infantry getting a couple of standard infantry from you own people in no big thing.

Quote
5)  is the AOR near any previous incursion locations?  If so, which units were the bad guys the previous time(s)?

different area in the mountains. check your notes. this group have been around for a few missions. like this in number 4.

at this time just not going to happen. as before with the next mission just 2 weeks out I do not have the time.

Quote

the AO has large hills/mountanis ..... woods and so on. slow is not good. hover and wheels will have problems.

with all that is going in the time of things not good. getting high-end supplies will just be a problem as not many will on the market.

The Enclave is a small walled city (78 square kilometers) designated as a special economic zone, with a population constantly in flux (from twenty thousand or so permanent residents and employees to as much as half a million due to tourism, customers, vendors, traveling sales reps, traders, ship crews, transient workers, and 'seasonal' workers), positioned on the Deccan Peninsula northeast of the Spaceport on the continent of Tairiku, Nejiro. It was established shortly after Yousai began building its foundations by Parliament to attract immigrants, trade, and business into the stellar system. The city is located nearby the Meander River a tributary of the Yoshino-gawa that flows into Subarashi Bei. The entire city is a free trade zone with some limited manufacturing, and a safe haven freeport with the associated security measures. More than eighty interstellar firms have invested in the zone including Buki Industries, Stark Heavy Industries, Element Six, GE Sensing, New Worlds Media Productions, Zimmer, Cerulean Waters, Metals of the Earth, Ballard-Dukempic Foods, Galileo Instruments, Isesaki Shipping, Lufthansa Technik, Lustrix Commodities, Intel, Ryan Iceships, Odin Manufacturing, and UCB. The city houses places where traders may own, rent or lease space to demonstrate and sell their goods, and where trade envoys and other professionals may keep offices. There are several apartment blocks, parks, condominium and townhouse complexes, blocks of warehouses, factories, vaults and secure storage areas, research and technical services facilities, arbitration and mediation services, negotiators and hagglers, guides and translators, commercial and personal concierge services, workshops and repair facilities, transport and distribution facilities, conference centers, banks, financial markets, commodity and security trading, tradeshow facilities, offices, marts and trading centers, independent traveling markets and fairs, traveling roadshows, hotels, inns and hostels, bars, theaters, restaurants, kabukicho {redlight district - love hotels, kyabakura, host clubs}, casinos and gambling, yukaku {red light district - brothels, pleasure houses, yujo} shrines, trade schools, entertainment, and health facilities to serve the traders and their customers as well as employees and residents. Many interstellar spaceship crews stay here while in system. The Enclave has strong ties with the Spacer League and Traders Trust. The city is administered by the Enclave Trade Council, and is considered somewhat of a foreign embassy, which is currently led by the Chief of the Enclave Trade Council Raji Rahman. The Enclave administers its own police force, defense/security force, firestations, city services, medical centers, and paramedics. The Market Square, the most well known feature of the city - a sizable open air bazaar, is located in an enclosed and gated court within the city next to the caravanserai. The Market Square has the most substantial and significant farmers market on Nejiro and sells local and interstellar produce, meats, cheese and dairy, bread and bakery products, plants and cut flowers, live animals, seafood, prepared food, and beverages. The Market Square closes to custom at sunset and there is no vehicular traffic allowed in The Market Square after six am. The Market Square is filled with an enormous variety of goods and services (anything and everything may be found here) from across the Periphery and the Sphere. The Market Square is found in the the largest most accessible area of The Enclave, with more than sixty narrow streets (some with glass covered arcades) organized into specialized souks associated with the local guilds and types of goods (textiles, handicrafts, spa and salon services, spices and herbs, gold, sento, books, leather and fur, drugs and traditional medicine, mecha and robots, fashion and accessories, yoshiwara style yukaku, weapons, furniture, animals, beer and alcohol, footwear, toys, engineering and technology, tools, vehicles, lighting, armor, tea and coffee, components, film and media, entertainment and attractions, gambling parlors, sexy emprium - sexual novelties, sexual aides, sex toys etc., soap and candles, housewares, music and instruments, electronics and computers, telecomm services, gadgets and gear, ammunition and explosives, engines and generators, water fun zone of slides and water coasters, stationery, barbers, printers, tailors, cleaners, prepared food stands, and restaurants etc.) of merchants, market stalls, peddlers and tinkers, vending machines, crafters and artisans, and over four thousand shops (from pawn shops and antique stores to specialty shops and luxury boutiques) that attracts more than two hundred thousand visitors daily. Many of the bazaar corner's house koban {community police substations - some with K9 partners}, outdoor and sidewalk cafes, shipping services, lounges and park areas, convenience stores, arcades and pachinko parlors. There are also a great many fountains, and public art installations such as sculptures, mosaics, murals, digital lighting, and architectural structures. The Market Square bazaar is the only place in The Enclave open to the general public. Nejiroans and other non-residents generally require an appointment, a reservation, a ticket, an invitation, to be actively employed by an Enclave business or resident, or have a Stellar Entry pass to gain entrance through the gates to other parts of the city. Locally sourced and interstellar deliveries are made to the city gates and couriered from there to their destination. There are both canal and high speed rail line connections (that are inside their own enclosed and gated court of the Enclave) to the Spaceport and Neptune Port (Iona Koichizoku - a small fishing/commercial seaport on the easternmost coast of the Deccan Peninsula) on Subarashi Bei with additional connections to Leyte and Bridges, as well as a regional aerofield with small craft and limited dropship access. There is of course a small inland port connected to the continents waterways that docks commercial and leisure traffic including yachts and cruise ships, that may also dock a handful of deep draft ship traffic.

Hiya gang -

So the getting in earlier is unlikely 'cause of mass in the morning (just can't get mother out of the house for the earlier ones  :headbang:

thanks for answering all my points, even if they WERE pretty much all "no, no HELL NO and no"

If I can make repair rolls on the wolvie and avatar when I arrive (why can't I roll for them while folks move stuff?), will be unit listed in last post.  If not, still gonna take the wolvie even if he doesn't get c3 fixed, but will sub out the crab for the avatar.

you can not go with the Wolverine, Eagle, Crab and Schiltron. you will be missing the infantry or vehicle unit.

now you have a Manticore or Hunter that would work well. Two nice old school toys

as for the Prime or Bravo for the Schiltron Arrow of LRM with artemis .... my brokers get to make money on both  (the Arrow will keep the Shiltron safer )

you also have your Alpha Owens with BA (just pointing out it has a Slave to work with the Shiltron's Master  :lipsrsealed:)

OH and last off from little old me  you have a Hawk Moth that can party  :lipsrsealed:

ComStar AP News Services, Nejiro

excerpted from a press conference on Atocongo, General of the Armies Adam Steiner in attendance

28 October 3068

Rhoda Maines, DBC: "General, did this attack come as a surprise?"

General Steiner: "Not really. If the Falcons were going to attack anywhere, it would be Graus."

Maines: "But if you anticipated this new Falcon incursion, why did you relocate so many units away from the border?"

Steiner: "Who said this strike is part of another Falcon incursion? I certainly didn't say that. While it would be in character for the Falcons to prey on us while we're distracted with other affairs, we have reliable intelligence that they are currently most concerned with Clan Wolf.
"Between the defenses we still have in place and the re-deployments of Clan Wolf, I remain confident that we can hold the border. We've certainly demonstrated this on Graus. The First Wolf Strike Grenadiers and Sixth Wolf Guards are frustrating - quite successfully the efforts of the First Falcon Strike Cluster and the Eighth Talon Cluster. As soon as Khan Kell's Golden Keshik makes landfall, I am certain control of Graus will be reestablished. "

Floyd Stanleigh, ARNN: "Are you confident in your assessment that the Falcons are focusing on Vlad's Wolves?"

Steiner: "Information is ammunition. Next."

Gabriel Jardinais, ISAP: "Sir! Rumor has it that "Information is ammunition' is actually one of Blake's sayings? Any truth to those who feel that this phrase links you to the Blakist pogrom?"

Steiner (baffled): "What? Who the hell are you. and who let you in here? I'm not going to respond to hysterical allegations like that." Next!"

Ori Castakus, INN: "Will units be diverted back to the Falcon border in response to this latest attack?"

Steiner: "That would be premature, and a waste of resources. The forces currently present in the Arc-Royal Theater have the situation well in hand. Our primary areas of focus continue to be repelling Word of Blake attacks and regaining peace along our Free Worlds border. That's all for today ladies and gentlemen."

Orestes [INN] - Acting in the role of interim Primus until the election of Sharilar Mori's successor, First Precentor Gavin Dow today issued a brief announcement on behalf of the First Circuit.

{"The truth behind the 'Puppet Primus' has been revealed! Brothers and sisters, hear us! The time of reckoning has come for those who slew Primus Myndo Waverly and perverted Blake's vision and ComStar into the mockery it is today!"

"As everyone is doubtless now aware the HPG network has fallen victim to a coordinated attack intended to deny the people of the Inner Sphere access to interstellar communications. The source has been identified as a virus introduced into the system by Blakist sympathizers. As of today we have several suspects in custody.

{"See how easily the true followers of Blessed Blake's teachings  defeat the heretics n their citadels of information. Does this not prove what we do is Blake's will"}

"Rest assured that even as I speak, our technicians are bringing the full weight of their skills and knowledge to bear on the task of restoring services as quickly as possible.

{"Fools! It is we - not you - who control the HPG network now. Your best efforts will avail you nothing! Listen not to your faithless leaders! See the truth and embrace Blake's word!}

"We apologize for any inconvenience our customers may be experiencing."

To: General Adam Steiner

From: Agent Nigel Hawkins, Outpost Somerset

Date: 9 November 3068

General Steiner - Adam - it's worse than we feared

I regret to inform you the hand of Blake reaches further than the Inner Sphere. In addition to their strongholds on Terra, the Free Worlds League and our beloved Tharkad, intelligence received just before the bombings of our capital city and New Avalon, as well as subsequently following the White-Out, suggests sighting of Word of Blake ships between the local and Deep Periphery. Unfortunately, those reports have been few, and several of the smaller ships sent out for deep explorations have disappeared off the radar.

I believe more Word of Blake strongholds exist within Lyran space as well - bases hidden deep on border worlds, close to Tharkad as well as the borders between the Combine and Free Worlds League and the Periphery. It's the only explanation I can accept for their ability to have moved so quickly between planets so soon after their unprecedented attacks. We've tried tracking these ghost ships, but as I stated before, those operative reporting such sightings vanish, leaving only their last coordinates.

I realize your forces are spread thin, Adam. But we need your help in weeding out these possible bases and destroying them. If not, our own safety and well-being as a people are at risk. How can we battle an enemy that lives within our own body if we allow it to fester?

I hope this message gets to you in time, and that you'll take my warnings under consideration.

Forever loyal to you and the Alliance, Agent Nigel Hawkins, Outpost Somerset

(26 January 3069)

Denbar [CBS] - This is Robert Li reporting for KDBR, an affiliate of Capellan Broadcasting Services, with the latest military brief from Sian by Sang-jiang-jun Talon Zahn

[Cut to Recorded press conference, Sian pressroom, dateline 24 January. Zahn stands behind a green marble podium, flanked by Death Commandos]

"I have no time for questions therefore, I will give you a situation report and status on certain units and worlds.

"CCAF forces have stopped Hasek's invasion cold."

(Applause erupts. Zahn smiles and waves for quiet.)

"Hasek's Capellan March forces advanced as far as Hexare and Imalda with their central thrust, while their northern and southern advances faltered. They captured worlds from Ares to No Return, Aldertaine, Overton, and Glasgow. The worlds of Carmen, Housekarle, Sendalor, and Homestead were also lost.

But on 8 October, we launched Operation Thunderstrike after months of preparations, while the First Death Commandos battalion was deployed to aid local forces on occupied worlds. Within weeks, the Remshield's Dragoons and House Imarra, together with additional Death Commando forces and select Home Guard units, liberated Hexare and Imalda, our first priority targets. CCAF units are working to liberate other worlds.

"In the St. Ives Commonality, both Janissaries commands, with divided loyalties, battled for their worlds.Elements of the Second Janissaries currently control Warlock. As a side note, the Blackwind Lancers returned home to defend the world of Ares.

"Sadly, I must report the destruction of House Ijori and the Fifteenth Dracon on Overton during the fighting there against the First Federated Suns Lancers RCT. Their heroic sacrifice was not in vain, however, as the Lancers withdrew after suffering tremendous casualties, while a few survivors of House Ijori managed to hold the field.

"As of this moment, the Davion advance in our realm has been halted. The people of the Confederation may rest assured that more victories such as we've seen on Hexare and Imalda will come soon.

"Thank you for coming. That's all I have."

(22 February 3069)

St. Ives [ISAP] - Mere weeks after his recovery from a devastating attack against the Celestial Throne, celebrations began today on many Capellan worlds in response to the announcement by Chancellor Sun-Tziu Liao to marry Naomi Centrella. Many have anticipated the engagement for a number of years now, and it will likely further strengthen the alliance between the Capellan Confederation and the Magistracy of Canopus.

This event, so shortly after the Chancellor's reappearance, and the anouncement of the existence of his unknown heiress, Ilsa Centrella-Liao, has done much to further improve Capellan morale. Davion forces continue to suffer reversals in Capellan space and previously pacified worlds have once again become enflamed against the invaders.

Most surprising is the impact of this news in the St. Ives region. Naomi Centrella has made herself quite popular among the people of St. Ives during the past couple of years, and many respect her for her troops' defense of Denbar. Approval of the engagement is very high.

Hey Gang -

just realized I had too many mechs...  :embarrassed:

and there's Shadhawk telling me about that

Great minds think alike, going with the Hawk Moth instead of the Crab.

and the schiltron will be the Beta vehicle, not the alpha vehicle - don't want my unit commander and my ranking NCO in the same battle with the dispersed unit format; it will be using the Arty omni pods (prime variant)

sorry 'bout the mixup

-C

P.S. -  its ONE stinking tech roll for the c3 repair on the wolvie... just sayin'...

both of your schiltrons have FLW Masters. You Avatar is the DCMS Master and it need some TLC.

Will anyone have a Combine C3 master?

At this point none will have a DCMS Master.

“Sir!”
“What is it?”
“Tracking has the bandits now moving north-east.”
“So what is the problem? Inform the GSF transport so they can change the drop zone.”
“But sir the way they are moving the will be moving towards both Malik and Rizvi holdings.”
“Then inform both militia commanders that the bandits are heading towards them and have units respond.”
“Yes sir. Sir you do know that the GSF cannot enter the holdings of the Koichizoku unless they are invited. So far they have not.”
“Then inform the GSF that if the bandits move past the markers they are to stop and let the locals deal with the problem.” Tekeda looks at the dispatcher. “If Malik and Rizvi think they can stop these bands then we will let them.” Under his breath “Maybe now she will stop playing so nice with these minor Ichizoku.”

“GSF control to strike group your target has changed course and is heading toward Malik and Rizvi holdings. You do not have permission to enter either Ichizoku’s holdings at this time. Keep an eye on the markers so that you do not trespass in to their holdings.”

OOC:
Going to be working on a write up from my unit's perspective and sticking it in my github (with some here and a link to it) but have some questions.

What was the in-game date of the mission today?
What was the Name/Rank of the commander?
What was the name/rank of the person/unit that spotted the ambusher?
Any details anyone wants to provide above that, I will be happy to fit in, any photos also.

Honestly, I was so fixated on minimizing my own mistakes in process/numbers I knew I wouldn't be able to keep track of other things. Some of my strategic mistakes I will include in the write up, so if you have good/bad things, feel free to send em my way.

August 11th is the second weekend of August, I am available that day.

IC:

Aside from the things that my crew would already know, Daisy will plan dinners, lunches, and other quick and easy meetings to get other's thoughts and notes.

Anyone that prefers only military ranked people meeting for these (& let me know who) will instead be contacted by Jasmine (VoH CO) with Kem (XO & was deployed in the mission) to translate if needed.

The first such meeting will also involve us giving a gift of a bottle of booze and/or another appropriate gift. If asked about the usage of this information, an unofficial battle report is planned, that will be shared with anyone on the mission, and also as deemed appropriate by GSF higher ups.

“Euron the tanks are here.”
“Good get the crews working with them and have Fuka and the others work with them so they can take up station at the start of the month.”
“On it Boss!”
“Inform the tech that they will need to get the number three Regulator back on line as she took some heavy damage to her drivetrain.”
“Will do.”

“When the recovery crew gets the PC back make sure the go over the full system as she took a lot of damage from that WoB ‘Mech.”
“No problem boss.”

“Everett your people will be working hard for the next few days as we have two vehicles down. That Thunderbot pilot had the Devil’s own luck. Make sure they check everything as his gauss slugs did some major damage.”
“No problem we got it covered.”

Over a secure comms link. “So how did your mission go?”
“I could have done better if the Mercenaries took the fight so the locals better.”
“They did not stand and fight?”
“One was lost and one other did and did well, crippling three vehicles and moving to a new AO.”
“What of the others.”
“The VTOL units move toward the area they are now to operate and the hover units the same.”
“This was your mission to get them to new areas so why do you think you could have done better?”
“The other two did not fight they just moved off following the hovercraft. If they did we could have done more damage to the locals. I did some damage to one of the heavy vehicles and a Battlemech and crippled one APC.”
“From what you are reporting things went well. You know that Blake’s will is much more. We have bigger things to do here.”
“Yes I know but I think more could have been done.”
“You did fine, move to your next mission.”
“Yes sir. May Blake’s will guide us.”

“Herr I have Dame Hammond on the line for you.” Duke’s valet informs him as he brings a phone in to the study.
“Danke Willham.” Duke takes the phone. “To what do I owe the honor of this call Frau Hammond?”
“Just letting you know that I’m on world and looking to see if we could get together.”
“I think I can make some time to see you. Do you have any place you would like to go?”
“I would like to go to Orla Eyrie. Every time I have tried to get in they are booked solid.”
“I may know someone that could get us in. I will make a call and see what can happen.”
“That would be great. I also have some information for you when we get together. It is not something I want to talk about over an open line.”
“Very well I will get back to you as soon as I get us a table at Orla Eyrie.”

“Willham will you get Major Cranson on the line for me Bitte.”
“Ja, Sir, sofort.”

“Major I have “Duke” Bosche calling for you.”
“Send the call to my office, I’ll take it in there.”

Crash goes into his office and closes the door: he picks up the phone. “Duke what can I do for you? I hope this is not an alert.”
“Nein …. No this is more of a social call. I would like to know if you could arrange a table for a friend and myself at your restaurant.”
“Do you want a private room or just a table?”
“A table is fine. She has been looking to try the food but has not been able to get in.”
“Lucky of me the place has been doing well. The staff has done well keeping the people very happy with the menu.” Crash thinks for a second. “If you want I will make sure that a table with a view of Yousai is ready for you and your lady. Just let me know what day and time you would like.”
“That is much more then I can ask, you have others that have made reservations for such a table. I could not ….”
“Please we are GSF I would do the same for any fellow member.”
“I will call her and let you know the time. Danke …. Thank You.” Duke thinks for a second. “You may want to stop by yourself as my dinner partner is Annette Hammond. You both may prophet for the meal.”
“I just may be on hand then.”

“Grubby get in my office ASAP!” Crash yells over the PA.

A short time later “What’s up Boss?”
“What can you tell me about Annette Hammond?”
“Well she owns AH Traders ….. you know the outfit I got the Crab from.”
“I knew the name sounded familiar.” Looking at Grubby. “Looks like Duke just may have set us up real nice.”

“Anne I got your Lyran Hun on the line.”
“Send it to my office. He is not my Lyran Hun.” Under her breath. “Not yet anyway.” She gets to her office. “Send in the call.” She picks up the reciver. “Well that was fast.”
“When one is motivated one will get things done fast. So when would you like to go to Orla Eyrie?”
“What … you are kidding …. right?”
“No I am not, tell me when you want to go and we will have a table.” Duke thinks for a second. “With a view from what I am told.”
“WOW! How?”
“Let’s just say an old army buddy.”
“OK how about Sunday late lunch, say 2ish?”
“I will set it up for 2:30 to give you some extra time.” Looking at his date book and marking it down. “My buddy may want to talk shop with you after we eat. He may want to see what you have in stock.”
“You know how to get a lady to look forward to lunch. Not only do you take her to one of the hottest places on planet you help her out with sales also.”
“Well if things go well we may have to find dinner as well.”
“A girl can only hope.”

“Crash Duke just called back and he is asking if 2:30 works?”
“You tell him no problem. Then tell the crew at Orla that he and his date are going to be there and to make sure they get V.I.P. treatment.”
“Good to go boss.”
“OH if Miss Hammond ever looks to have dinner at Orla from this point on she has a table. Understood?”
“Yes!”
