I am confused by this product. What is it? Mechwarrior lite as a Battletech++ expansion? A simplified version of Mechwarrior? Or something else?

More streamlined Mechwarrior RPG.

More specifically it’s a BT RPG based on the queue system previously used in other catalyst products like Star Patrol and Shadowrun: Crossfire. It’s most comparable (to me) to the FATE system

It's actually more analogous to Shadowrun and Shadowrun: Anarchy. Lighter touch on the atttributes, skills, and such, and is more of a narrative system than strictly dice-rolling.

Crossfire is a card game, you're thinking of Anarchy.

The Cue System is the one used for Shadowrun:Anarchy. It is a lighter, more narrative system (although was described by at least one player as the crunchiest lightweight game they'd ever run). Definitely suited for dramatic narrative games, though.

(Full SR is still its crunchy self.)

Anyone know which distributors are carrying it, so I can tell my FLGS where to look to order it?

Whoops. Yes, anarchy is what I meant

The reason why I ask is that Amazon keeps changing the release date.

ah, yeah. CGL doesn't sell directly through amazon (except fiction). there you're at the mercy of third party sellers.

I am interested from MW: Destiny. Easier take on BT RPG is welcome and I have had some interest to start BT RPG but before this there just hasn't been easy starting point that has enough substance. Of course I would also need to get people that are interested to play some other RPG than DnD.

That is the catch, isn't it?

I picked up the PDF version of it, and have only done one readthrough so far, but I really, really like it a lot, compared to AT0W or even 3rd Ed. MW.

Yup and it's one good and welcome catch if you ask me.

I see a lot of similarities in the rules with two other systems I play:
Rotted Capes (simplified Arcanis RPG system)
FFG Star Wars

Several of our local players struggle with the Plot Point concept of changing a GM story.
